La Doña Authentic Mexican Restaurant

Definitely not like your other Mexican restaurants in the City! Do not sleep on this place. The Chile relleno was actually good I had the sauce on the side I wasn't a fan of the sauce but they have this green sauce that is F*****g amazing! My husband had the Molcajete and i have to say the flavor is soooo bold and its definitely there! Now there chip sauce is like any other mexican restaurant in the city had to add some sauce to get it spicy for us. Ok so drinks i have to say ask for the pineapple 🍍 tequila the owner makes it and its freaking delicious soooo smooth! We are from Texas and are temporarily here but this place is definitely our Favorite so far!

Great service an extremely kid friendly an the staff was amazing. They was very attentive to my kids an napkins an if food hit the floor it was cleaned up b4 I could get their attention! Amazing food an pretty decent prices. Can't wait to go back! Especially since the adults got chips an dip an they offered my kids cheetos while we waited for our food it was amazing an awesome of them

The food was excellent and the family was very friendly. We had the quesa Barria tacos and chilies rellenos. They were both delicious and a very refreshing experience compared to the Mexican restaurant options in Jefferson City.

The food here was great, and so where the drinks offered. The Horchata is a must try. I personally had the Chorizo Street Tacos, and was blown away by the quality. The staff are super kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is welcoming and lively. The prices are also very good for the quality of the food served. This place is a MUST TRY!

Sorry I waited so long to check it out! Some of the best Mexican food we've had in ages. Very reasonably priced. Customer service was prompt, attentive and spot-on. Food was fresh, obviously cooked to order, hot and absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back

This is some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico or California where I grew up.

So I'm very picky about Mexican but the quality at La Dona is outstanding. And I was shocked the last time I went in there because I went to pay the bill and the gentleman there told me it was free and on the house. I haven't had a restaurant do that in years.

These guys not only make incredible Mexican food that's so delicious and perfectly seasoned they are super friendly great service great staff and I would recommend them to anyone.

I've also lived in Central Mexico so I know the food down in Mexico City is some of the best in the world. But as far as US Mexican food goes this is on par with any of the best food I've had in LA or San Francisco and they have incredible Mexican food in LA My original hometown and SF Mexican is the bomb. Yet I was shocked that Central Missouri had such delicious Mexican food. Keep it up

I've eaten here several times recently, and I feel pretty strongly that this is the best Mexican food in JC right now (a couple of others come close). Everything is cooked to order, and everything my spouse and I have had has been delicious. Try the Chile Relleno dinner, it's **way** better than similar dishes you've had elsewhere locally. I've also had chorizo and eggs, and the caldo de pollo (chicken soup), and it's all just great.

Service is friendly, and it's a family business, which I like. I gave the 'atmosphere' a 5 as well, even though it's nothing special, but I just feel very comfortable and at-home there. They are very welcoming.

Also, the person who ordered a pizza there...why? Don't go to a Mexican restaurant and order frickin pizza. Of course it was microwaved, they're not set up in that small kitchen to make pizza from scratch!

I'm so sad that I found this place right before I moved 2 hours away. The dude that served me was helpful and patient with me and my multitude of questions, the lady who took my payment and dude who sat me gave the same level of welcoming vibes. The food was actually flavorful, which is vastly different from the other Hispanic restaurants in this town. Anytime I come back for conferences or to visit my friends and family, WE'RE GOING HERE!!! 10 out of 10

My family and I have been here twice and both times the food came out fast and was delicious. It's definitely the best Mexican food you can get in the area.
Bonus points for how friendly the owners are! We will definitely keep coming back.

The staff were so nice and the cooks were fast. They accidentally made the wrong order (it was still delicious) but made sure to make me the correct order for free to take home. They were so polite and friendly. Love this place, very family friendly!

First time here. They were really nice. I sat down and looked through the menu. I don't speak or read Spanish and this young lady explained some of the dishes. I ended up with Nachos Jalisco (I think that's how it's spelled) Nachos with beef, shrimp and chicken and a cheese sauce. It was marvelous. Husband had 1 Enchilada and 3 tacos. He said they were wonderful. He doesn't eat a lot so is looking forward to eating 2 tacos for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for a great first experience. The Mango soda is delicious, by the way!

I've been three times. Each time I'm impressed with how much flavor is in the food. The service is fantastic and the prices are perfectly reasonable.

I ate here before they moved to Jefferson City, when they were still in Holts Summit. The food was excellent, the service was above average and the atmosphere was cozy and family friendly,. I hope to visit them at their new location soon.
