This is our “go to place”. Cathy and Sal are amazing. BEST meatballs around! Amazing drinks. They treat you like family. Food is consistently awesome. So grateful we have a place like this close to home that we can relax and enjoy great food. You will not be disappointed!

Absolute best Italian Food in Rockland Area. Food is delicious and served piping hot. Service team are friendly and super welcoming. The sauces on every dish are outstanding. Hands on owner’s Sal & Kathy are terrific. And a tremendous value.

Just had a late lunch with my mom. The food is delicious....the owner even makes homemade Italian cheese cake which is soooo good. We had NY strip steak it was cooked to profection seasoned well.
Great service friendly people. I definitely will go back soon.

Reminds me a lot of Dante's in Leonia ..small friendly Italian place for locals ... 95% of staff appears to be women and all are hard working, efficient and friendly. We had NZmussels, Rigatoni pomodoro and angel hair w/shrimp...all dishes were delicious 😋. Even house salad good --light dressing but subtle good flavor..... Definitely going back.

We found a little gem tucked into a tiny strip mall on 303 in Tappan, NY. La Fontanella Ristorante Italiano We loved every bite, from the bruscetta to the tiramisu. And the service was excellent.

Lunch special is beyond worth it. Makes me feel like I went to my noni's for a authentic meal. The prices allow me to frequent often when I'm at work. I'm just mad that I didnt find it sooner . I even picked up dinner after having their leftovers that day and I was able to meet the lovely owners. I will be a regular

This is a fantastic family owned and operated Italian restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious. The wait staff is personable and professional. My parents and I have been enjoying meals here for close to 20 years. Tonight we went to celebrate my mom's 72nd birthday. It was the little touches that made it all the more special for mom.

Their food is absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly & attentive. Sal, the chef does a great job. This was.my veal dish. I give them 5 stars or 10

Owners Sal and Cathy have a great Resturant in Tappan plenty of parking too!! 👏🏻🤗💕chicken saltimbocca off the hook!! ♥hidden great spot they even have a party room off to the side!! It’s amazing never a bad meal here!

I went to the restaurant with my coworkers for lunch and I ordered the Chicken Marsala as my coworkers raved about it. Boy were they right! The chicken marsala is one of the best ones I've ever had at a restaurant. I also ordered penne pasta which was just the right size. The service was excellent, the waitress really took care of us. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. I will be coming back here again!

My family and I have been visiting La Fontanella for over a decade. We have N E V E R been dissappointed, we have had several family events on location. The staff is always making sure you are comfortable and enjoying your evening. As for the menu, I believe we have pretty much so tried everything and Sal always amazes us with his unique recipes. You can not visit the sorrounding area without a visit to La Fontanella, you will feel right at home on a Sunday with the family. Enjoy!

Excellent place great food service atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable

This is definitely the case of don't judge a book by its cover. A hidden gem in a small strip mall doesn't look like much but good simple Italian food with great prices.
My kids are obsessed with the meatballs and I love the affordability and huge portions!
The lunch menu is the best for portions and price in the area. Skip the dinner and go here!

Sal is an excellent chief. Always a pleasure to have dinner there. They are so friendly and they did not rush us at all. I recommend checking out their daily specials. Always so good. Highly recommended.

My friend and I wound up here tonight unexpectedly and serendipitously. It was AMAZING. Delicious food and impeccable service. The owner was kind and friendly. They have a big menu that's a wonderful hybrid of classic Italian dishes and creative house specialties. We had a hard time deciding! The cocktail menu is equally extensive and creative, and they have a nice wine list. Everything was phenomenal. A fabulous night out - we'll be back for sure!

The husband & wife owners treat you like family. I've never had a bad a bad meal there. If you don't have reservations, it's a bit claustrophobic.

Top notch fresh ingredients and perfect preparation overseen by the head chef/owner guarantees a phenomenal meal.

The portions are generous, the atmosphere casual elegance, and I've never had anything short of a wonderful meal.

The prices are fair, the staff is friendly. Don't miss Cathy's secret recipe cheesecake!

Dined here last night for the first time and it was excellent! The food was delicious from salad, appetizers, entrees and desserts! The staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back!!!! Would highly recommend.
