MCL Restaurant & Bakery — Kingsdale

Food selection was fantastic. The servers were very good. The waiters & waitresses were very attentive and very fast at refilling our drinks and removing the dirty dishes. Thank you for your help in making this Easter one of the best

Don't know if I really should review this MCL restaurant. Maybe I should keep it a secret.😄I loved this place. The food was like being back home sitting down to dear old mom's cooking almost. There was a good variety of things to choose from and anything you picked, you couldn't go wrong. The employees were all very polite and helpful. They keep the place as clean as they can. Good job folks.👍

The food was delicious, but very pricey for how much food you get. It came to around $80 for 2 people, but it dropped down to $65. Had to get my own water.

Always great food at a great price. Friendly atmosphere and just all around great place.

You'll find whatever your body is telling you you want. Service is great too. Great selection of veggies and variety of meats. Deserts are plentiful

I returned tonight for the first time in a long while and was very pleased to see they are maintaining their standards. It's a nice cafeteria with good comfort food and a wonderful staff.

Try the meatloaf Manhattan and the cinnamon rolls are a must.

What a great place to dine..the last of remaining cafeteria chains in Columbus..their food is fantastic..I will travel 15-20 miles to dine here..very consistent every time..here is their liver n onions served on Thursdays..their tomato soup is wonderful..served on Tuesdays

Have seen , heard and ate at MCL , in Wilmington NC.
Today at Kingsdale, it was very comforting. Got the Reuben sandwich , bean soup and broccoli salad with peach pie and coffee. Jorge is your waiter. He is top notch and should be at a Hyde Park or Mitchell’s or Ruth’s Chris steakhouse. Very nice and he’s there MTW and Fridays. Felt bad because I didn’t have cash to tip him. I will tomorrow 😂because I’ll be returning. Price was a little high, but I would spend $25 on a steak too from the store. Thanks MCL!

I LOVE anything restaurant wise that I are at as a kid:)) This place has flavor!! How they get it I probs don’t want to know;) Their food is primarily soft with both of these attributes attributed to the average age of 74 in this and I can only assume all other MCL’s:) This is not a knock at old people, I’m officially old at 51 and strive to make it to the age of everyone in that store lol. Mad respect to anyone out there braving their 80’s or 90’s and owell let’s give a shout out to the septuagenarian’s as well❤❤❤

Sorry about that, back on task. If you possess self confidence and can take the slack you might be getting announcing yourself lunch or dinner plans the food is worth it. It IS pricey tho so be forewarned…also it’s nice to bring a few singles to tip the usually again very old diner attendants that get you refills, napkins, and take your huge trays away. It’s a cafeteria don’t forget:)

Everybody was very nice. The stuffed chicken and mac and cheese is the best in my opinion.

Idk what to say about this place it is a hit or miss with them. Some of the staff are friendly and some are questionable.

All of the staff are very courteous and friendly. They always acknowledge your specific wishes/needs and ask how else they can make your experience better. The food is consistently hot and delicious!!! And the restaurant has always been promptly cleaned by the staff after each use, and especially during Covid.
Thank you for making your customers feel safe.
We have been eating at this MCL since we found it in 2013 and will continue.

My friend told me about this place. I didn't even know a place like this existed in Columbus. MCL made me feel like I was 8 years old eating dinner with my grandparents in a good nostalgic way.

We have literally been coming here every Sunday after worship for the last 45 years!!! They really know how to treat their employees and their employees are super friendly!! Food is AMAZING!!!

I HIGHLY recommend you get the Beef Manhattan with rye bread and brown gravy!!!!! How is it even possible that it is that tender???…and how is it possible that for the last 45 years that have consistently made it perfect??? LOVE this place!!!!!

Quite possibly the best pork chop in town. My husband and I went, he had never been. I had the pork chop, mashed potatoes, and cole slaw. He had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Everything was amazing, especially the the rolls! Friendly staff and wonderful food, 10 out of 10 will return!

Late November 2022, a Monday: Excellent dark piece fried chicken, leg n thigh, with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cinnamon roll/muffin, and iced tea! Excellent service from Jorge! I will be back. I gotta try the stuffed chicken breast!

Great food, home style quality, fresh and good. Extremely happy
