My young kids have been going here for a few months and we are very happy with the way it’s going for them. Coach Jackson does an outstanding job with making the classes fun while still making sure students are learning and not getting carried away. There are also other good instructors which makes for a good coach-to-student ratio. Coaches also get involved and actually roll with the students to help teach them things which they really enjoy, We couldn’t be happier with the way they’re learning and enjoying their time at Ronin.

I see there are a couple of reviews from people who are complaining about having people park around the neighborhood. We have not been told to park in other business lots or anywhere in particular.

Very positive experiences so far for my kids. I have my 7 and 5yr old daughters enrolled in the free week trial and they are really enjoying Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. The training is great and I hope to be able to enroll myself at some point. Everyone has been friendly and welcoming so far and the main instructors for both have made sure to spend adequate 1-on-1 time with my girls to help them get started. The Jiu Jitsu 5-7yr old class had about 18 students, so there are moments when things get a little chaotic, but it was well managed overall. There was 1 main instructor (I think her name is Sarah) and two assistants. I personally wasn't there for their first Muay Thai session, but my wife said that Coach Boggs is a natural instructor and did great with the kids. Pricing seems fair and I will for sure be bringing them back at some point when we have the finances.

BEAUTIFUL TRAINING FACILITY! Went for an open mat and got to see parts of different classes and I loved what I saw! The open mat was pretty inviting and had tons of high level grapplers in the room. Overall it was a great experience and if I’m ever visiting Columbus again I will 110% hit Ronin back up!

Awesome experience with fantastic instruction. I felt like I walked away with much more knowledge and security while having a blast. Casey is an amazing instructor and made the experience very memorable with his engagement of the class and evident skill.

If you’re serious about your martial arts training, this is the place to be. The instructors are all experienced and coach well, and the culture among the members fosters respect and growth. Best gym in Columbus by far.

I've been training at Ronin for a few months now and I'm absolutely addicted to it. I'm studying BJJ and Muay Thai, and I occasionally get a workout in there. I've also started my older son in kids BJJ. I wanted to wait a few months before I reviewed. Below are a few high points of my experience at Ronin in no particular rank order.

1. Family atmosphere. Everyone there is welcoming and warm. I've been utterly shocked at how helpful and friendly everyone is, from the staff and trainers, to my fellow students. It's a tough thing to walk into a legit fight gym for the first time. It's also extremely humbling. My experience at Ronin so far in just a few short months has already positively impacted my mental health and the way I approach life. It's quite unbelievable.

2. World class instruction. BJJ is where I spend the most time. How truly lucky is Columbus, OH to have Vitor Oliveira, a world champion Jiu Jitsu competitor, teaching here? Vitor is a machine on the mats in competition and has dedicated his life to Jiu Jitsu. But he's also a fantastic coach. However, the culture he has instilled is what stands out to me the most. A fish out of water if what it feels like the first class you attend, but every single student of his has been welcoming to me, non-judgemental and extremely helpful. Everyone is truly interested in each others progression. Laurah Hallock, who manages the gym, is the only female black belt in Columbus, and she is also a fantastic instructor. For women considering BJJ, they have a womens only class once per week and the other classes are coed. BJJ is the ultimate equalizer to strength, so women considering self defense should consider it first and foremost before anything else.

For Muay Thai, Aaron Bogg's class has the same feel. Aaron has a knack for instruction and he's also serious about his students progress. He made me feel comfortable within 10 seconds of my first class. I'd love to have more time for Muay Thai. The same culture is prevalent in his class.

3. Kids BJJ. I've started my older son in kids BJJ and the instruction and class format for the little ones is perfect. If you want your kids to learn discipline, patience, impulse control and be able to truly defend themselves in this crazy world, look no further than Jiu Jitsu. They sort the class by age group, so the little ones don't get mixed in with the bigger kids. Sarah, Des, Sal and others do a great job keeping it fun with games and drills that develop important skills and knowledge at the same time.

They're putting in showers right now which is a bonus. They also have a weight training area, a boxing ring and an MMA ring. Boxing classes, Judo, Yoga, Kids Wrestling and a Ronin Fit class are also taught at Ronin.

If you have any doubt about where the best train, visit Ronin and see for yourself.

I was visiting OSU for a week and wanted to train Muay Thai during that time. I contacted the gym on IG and asked if I could train for a week, and the response was very welcoming. I trained with coach Boggs and coach Bryce. Overall experience was amazing, I learned a lot from the coaches and fighters who were getting ready for competition.

My experience at Ronin Training Center has been overwhelmingly positive. I take BJJ and fitness classes, and have received top-notch instruction in both. ALL coaches and trainers are supportive and encouraging regardless of where you are in your fitness journey. I’ve been here for 3 years, and have seen this gym welcome and support people from all walks of life and help them grow as athletes. Management has always been great to work with and very professional. I found a second home here!!

I had to edit my review after reading some of the 1-4 star reviews. Please ignore the haters. The only bad thing you could really say about Ronin Training Center is that the parking does get packed in the evenings, but what does that tell you about how great it is? The instructors prioritize on making a safe, constructive environment. I wake up looking forward to going to THIS gym multiple times a day. They give you a 7 day free trial for goodness sake. The price is great for what you get. You’ll feel like a better person every time you walk out of those doors guaranteed!!

The best gym in central Ohio. Period. They have many types of classes available for Adults and Children with world class coaches. Everybody is very friendly and they are committed to help you reach your goals be it fitness, learning a new martial art or become the best fighter you can be. Anybody interested should try it, they have a free week to explore the different classes and facility.

Great BJJ gym! I have not taken any other programs they offer, but the jiu-jitsu is a very good experience, all the beginner classes in the day or evening have great instructors. You don’t need anything your first time few times, just show up a little early and ask to start your free week trial. Just remember, no shoes on the mat, shoes on off the mat.

I attended this gym for a short few months, and can't leave long term viewpoints, but while I was there I was very pleased with the gym and classes. The instructors in Judo, Ji Jitsu and Muay Thai were all very welcoming and friendly, and very helpful in furthering my beginner skills. They have a good selection of weights (few machines) to lift with, and plenty of conditioning tools. Among the gyms that I looked at across a few cities I have lived in, Ronin offers an extremely good deal considering all the classes you get access to as well as the workout equipment. The lack of contract was also a plus as they don't need to rope you into commitments, they know customers will stick around.

Been a part of the MMA program for a bit now and have fought all my MMA fights from this gym. This is by far the best gym to be at. The coaching is second to none from beginner classes to advanced. This place has everything you need. You have the ability to train with and learn from the top professional athletes Ohio has to offer. I've had nothing but a positive experience at Ronin.

Amazing gym! Ronin has wonderful beginner programs as well as very experienced competition teams for all martial arts. The children BJJ and Muay Thai programs are also excellent.

No other place I rather train.
With more and more contact sports gyms opening in the area its important to have a clear idea on what kind of training you are looking for.
The environment is competition focus with room for the enthusiasts but beware of other gyms where the teachers/trainers are overweight and not competitive individuals.
No matter the discipline you will find encouraging, challenging and yet very fun classes.

I started going to Ronin a few months ago. I originally joined for their fitness classes (which were awesome) but also recently started to LOVE their Krav Maga classes too. Instructors are top notch - really offer personalized tips and guidance and there to help if you have any questions. I'm a busy mom and want my workouts to count, so glad I found Ronin!

This gym is incredible. I say that because it’s huge, it’s clean, it’s nice and it has tons of varying programs, From judo to BJJ, Mui Thai, boxing, wrestling, you name it they’ve got it here. This is probably the biggest MMA gym in Ohio and in surrounding states. The instructors are world class and by that I mean ranked in the top in the world. With that, they are still humble, courteous, polite and professional. I have five kids that have been going here for several years and I cannot think of any better role models in the entire country better than here at Ronan. Dr. K. J. Carder.

I have trained at many different gym and ronin by far has the best coaches, facilities and team mates. The coaches range from Ufc fighters to World Champion martial artist. You won't find better instruction anywhere else. They have something for everyone whether you want to do private training sessions to group classes. The gym is always clean and everyone is always nice and willing to help you improve. Cory Minton, Aaron Boggs, Vitor Oliveira and Luke Zachrich are the coaches that go above and beyond. Stop in and give Ronin a chance. You won't be disappointed. You will get the best workout of your life while building confidence at the same time. Training at Ronin will build a life long brotherhood with your training partners.

I attended Muay thai classes at Ronin for about 9 months. Aaron was one of the best trainers I've worked with. He was genuinely interested in helping all the trainees. A well equipped facility with great trainers!
