Amazing rehearsal dinner for my son and daughter in law last Thursday night. From the start of the planning till the end, Nelson and his son also Nelson accommodated my requests and answered questions right away. The 2 rooms were set up for the cocktail hour and dinner. It was cozy and intimate. The servers were attentive. Appetizers to main course were delectable. The appetizers were passed around quite nicely and we didn’t have to wait for more. The entrees were big serving. Delicious!! The dessert of assorted pastries were tasty. My favorite was the cream puff!
Service was excellent. Price was reasonable for what they had to offer.
Had a very good experience.

We recently hosted our 10th anniversary fundraiser for "The Cookstove Project" at Travelers Rest; it was a big success. Nelson and his son Nelson jr. and their team were wonderful. The elegantly renovated space is a big improvement over the old Travelers. The food was excellent. Our guests raved about the hors d'Oeuvres; the plated dinner started with penne and roasted tomato cream followed by caesar salad and finally a choice of entrees. And a special cake afterwards. Everything met our expectations. But it was the little details that Nelson provided such as the menu/program that really made a difference. Nelson and his team were very patient and accommodating with our many questions and requests. His staff was very polite too!

We held our baby shower here and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. From the venue, to the food, and service everything was incredible. Nelson and his team did everything they could to ensure we had a beautiful event. We will definitely be hosting future events here and recommending this venue to all our family/friends.

We had my daughters bridal shower at Travelers Rest last Sunday. Everything was perfect. The food , the service and staff, the venue, the gardens. Nelson is great to work with, and responds quickly, by text or email. The little touches were sweet- her photo on the screen at the entrance! The beautiful cake decorated with the design of the invitation!! I HIGHLY recommend if you need a space for an event. The French toast got rave reviews!…. Along with the entire brunch buffet. Thanks Nelson and Nelson Jr!!!

We had My bridal shower here & they made a fabulous brunch for us. Nelson & his team were so accommodating and so sweet ! Everyone raves about the space, the food & the wonderful staff! Will absolutely have future events at Travelers Rest!

On September 9, 2022 our family celebrated my marriage at a reception held at Travelers Rest. We could not have been more pleased with the event.
The Salazar family was a wonderful host. Nelson Salazar, the owner, attended to every detail from cocktails in the garden to dinner and dancing in the dining room, and the evening was enjoyed by all. The garden behind the restaurant was replanted with new sod, old trees removed, and the stream and bridge cleaned and refurbished. The service during the cocktail hour was attentive, and the passed hors d’oeuvres were scrumptious. Upon entering the dining room, we were greeted with a bright atmosphere where each table was specifically placed to allow for easy movement around the room, as well as to accommodate the band and dance floor. The food we selected met our guest’s approval as it offered delicious entre selections and allowed for modifications if there were dietary allergies or restrictions. The wait staff was comprised of Nelson’s children and their friends, and each was polite, prompt in the delivery of the hot meals, as well as unobtrusive when serving. The cake, made to our specifications, was created by Nelson’s wife Christine, and was not only delicious, but truly a work of art. An especially nice feature was that only one event is hosted at a time so guests can step away from the music and dancing into a quieter, more relaxing area to converse and catch up with others. Attendees told us they appreciated that ability.
Travelers Rest exceeded our family’s expectations and provided us with the opportunity to confidently relinquish control to the Salazar family, allowing us to fully participate in the celebration, and create wonderful memories of the joyous day. We would highly recommend Travelers Rest for any special event.

The Cookstove Project had its 10th year anniversary event at Travelers Rest with over 100 guests attending. From the beginning to the end Nelson and his entire staff were very professional and accommodating and gave excellent service.. The food was the best as well Highly recommend this place!

Beautiful venue, delicious food, attentive and friendly staff made my daughter's bridal shower a wonderful experience. Everyone raved about how pretty both the room and outside area was. The food, from the appetizers to the celebration cake was delicious and plentiful. Nelson worked with me throughout the planning to make the day go smoothly. I found him to be very accommodating with my frequent questions. We are lucky to have a beautiful event venue in this part of Westchester.

My Daughter’s Bridal Shower last weekend was absolutely wonderful.

Nelson and his staff are more than amazing. He will do whatever your vision is to host an amazing party. The food is amazing , and the venue is absolutely beautiful and very clean. I have held two events there and look forward to throwing more. I wouldn’t even second guess using this place for a special party or dinner.

Felt it was necessary to spread the word on this gem!! We hosted my DIL’s Baby Shower yesterday at Travelers Rest - and believe me it’s not the Travelers of years past.

The room was beautifully laid out and perfectly set the party up for mingling. In addition to the meticulously set tables, two seating areas were strategically placed in our room with comfy couches and chairs complete with throw pillows & a decorative lap blanket. This room flowed seamlessly to a beautiful outdoor balcony with a couple of high rise tables, plenty of mingling area and a bar. All while overlooking the perfectly manicured gardens.

The food was equally delicious with so many options you couldn’t miss .. but an extra special kudos for the passed hor dourves - just WOW - fresh out of the oven and delish!! Don’t miss the bacon wrapped scallops.

One last shout out goes to the staff - Henry and Tyler were over-the-top. All my guests commented on how professional, personable and attentive these young men were for the entirety of the party.

What a lovely place..Our family has been coming here for decades..The food, along with the service is always top notch!! A memorable experience everytime..

We had our baptism reception for my son at Travelers Rest and it was a huge success. In the weeks and days leading up to the event the owner met with us personally and we went over the menu and other requests. Everything was taken care of with understanding and professionalism. When the day came the staff performed admirably and the food was too notch. The beautiful gardens outside provided a place for kids and adults to stretch their legs and a backdrop for amazing photographs. We were also provided a copy of the Toast via security cameras after failing to record it ourselves. They went above and beyond at the Travelers Rest and will be back again for future events.

Nelson, his wife and children serve as though you’re guests in their home when it comes to Travelers Rest events! They went above and beyond to make my Sisters January 2022 baby shower an absolute joy for all! 💗

Professional and top-notch friendly staff, gorgeous renovations throughout the building, the charm of the crackling fireplace, NOT A DETAIL WAS MISSED! (and we asked for a lot!)

The food at our brunch was delicious and guests raved about the beautiful customized cake being as delightful inside as it was out!
The staff even packed to-go slices for guests to enjoy after our event.

Had my daughter's birthday/baptism at Traveler's Rest. From the minute we met Nelson we knew we were in good hands. He gave us 5 star treatment from beginning to end. The food and the service was top notch and we will definitely be having our next event at Traveler's Rest. So good, I wish they were a restaurant by itself so we can go more often !

Some how Nelson and his team manage to make a simple family gathering for my son's baptism celebration in to a wonderful and sofisticates event, they took care of everything, I mean everything, the food mind blowing and the cake was the most delicious red velvet i've ever tasted. We held our Basketball end of season dinner at Travelers Rest and from start to finish the experience was top notch. The room was spacious and the food and the service were excellent. I would recommend it highly to anyone looking to host a private event.
