The Claremont Tavern

Great pub atmosphere for a brew or casual dinner. The burgers are epic, definitely great selection, and huge, with their famous (and massive) onion rings stabbed (literally) on top. They also have good salads. The interior can feel a little dark, and there's an events room upstairs you can book, complete with its own bar and TVs (typically for sports games). The best part is the backyard patio that was opened during the pandemic, it's not always open but definitely a cool atmosphere with hanging lights on nice summer nights. They also offer take-out and you can call ahead to order. Much better experience dining in. It's on the pricier side compared to your average pub, but the food is also a cut above.

Hidden Gem. Great Service, great Food. Start to finish was a great Sunday afternoon at the Claremont. Parking is tough, but once you are settled inside ita a great local bar/restaurant. I would definitely go back.

What a gem!! The Claremont burger was tasty with those amazing onion rings with beers and fresh salads. It was an excellent value for the price, gourmet style. Great service. Cozy & casual spot. Support local ma and pa restaurants. Highly Recommend.

From the atmosphere, the service, the prices, to the taste of our food. Everything was delicious. My side of fries the asiago cheese garlic fries are a garlic lovers dream! Chuck's of garlic all on that bowl. Burgers are juicy and full of flavor. The only thing we didn't enjoy to much was the onion rings. They were way to greasy.

Been here a few times always consistent high quality food drinks and service. Not a single complaint besides it is not the easiest to park near. The chicken sausage soup is a must have. You will be shocked at how much meat is in it. Everything else we have ever had has been great as well. If you are considering stopping here, do it.

We go often ..: the last time we were there they lost power at 7 and it never came back on and Yes we all stayed
Not one table left in the entire restaurant. We all were happy with whatever we had received up to that point and hung and talked with friends

So this is a definite go to in Bernardsville

The bartender was the best!!! She put the Rangers game on the main TV and right before 8pm she put the volume up.
She was supper attentive and really awesome.
The food was great! Definitely get a flatbread!!

The outdoor seating area which was built and set-up due to COVID has been a great touch. Great beer selection. Really good burgers and probably some of the best buffalo wings in the area. Glad we finally tried this place and will go back again.

We absolutely love coming here! The burgers and wings are amazing and it’s the perfect tavern vibe. The bartender, Caroline, is the best and always makes us feel right at home. We always have a great night here!

I actually think I enjoy their COVID setup more than their typical inside dining room! Claremont has converted their back parking lot into an adorable outdoor dining area. Comfortable spacing between tables and great ambiance. Food is awesome as always. Can't go wrong with any burger off their menu. Would love to see some more vegan/vegetarian options (ie an impossible/beyond burger added) so my veg friends can experience a Claremont "burger".

Great food and service. Wish the parking was easier to find. Burgers, fries, onion rings and fish tacos all tasted great and good sized portions, too. We will return to try more items on the menu. Thanks for a great afternoon!

Great spot for some good, reasonably priced food. Service was good as well. Burgers & onion rings were tasty. Parking is a little difficult, but doable. Also, great live music, the acoustic guitarist rocked the house!

Their steak was freaking amazing. Ordered it rare, and I have no idea how they made the glaze they did but wow. Best steak I've had in 2023. Cooked perfectly. Friends entrees also looked so good, made me want to taste everything just looking at it.

The choice of drafts at the time I went was great. The price is completely justified for the quality of food you are getting.

If you are considering going just go. Can't wait for a chance to go back.

A personal favorite as the service is always excellent and food is delicious. Highly recommended. Their outdoor dining during the summer is so relaxing with live music and a great atmosphere.

My favorite tavern in NJ! Never been disappointed. Real deal menu - artisanal burgers 🍔, yummy flatbreads, top notch entrees... what more can I say? I guess I can talk about the best Asiago fries and chicken sausage tortellini soup I ever tasted. Sit at the bar and enjoy some live music jammed into corner of bar area for a few hours weekend nights. Can’t get enough of this place. My go to when I need good grub.

The burgers are huge. It's a nice pub like setting in a beautiful part of NJ.

The food, drinks and service are all top notch however, most of the times we have gone to celebrate or get away from the hustle and bustle of the world there has been “packs” of children screaming and banging silverware on the plates. Horribly disappointing as it leads to early exiting without being able to enjoy the evening. Separate room for screaming kids maybe???? It is definitely limiting your business potential. 👍🏻
