This is just a beautiful place to have a wedding! We have shot so many weddings over the years and we love working here! Food and atmosphere is great. There are so many areas to take photos and it definitely makes our job easier, lol! Cannot wait to work here again.

It’s hard to imagine our wedding without the Olde Mill Inn. Our first meeting with Kate went so smoothly we almost booked it from the parking lot. After looking at a few other venues we knew it had to be OMI (technically we had our wedding at The Grain House).
Kate was super nice, helpful, and responsive throughout the process. John Lietz was our maitre’d and that man is a wedding/event machine. John was also very quick to respond and incredibly helpful. The day of our wedding I felt like John was everywhere all at once. Easy contender for wedding MVP. Our waiter Yaseem (I think) was super nice and helpful as well!
All of our guests enjoyed the accommodations, the food was great, and the breakfast on Monday morning was also tasty (pancake robot!)! There’s a reason they’re often ranked as one of the best places for a wedding in NJ. Would highly recommend!

We threw my cousin a surprise 50th birthday party at the Grain House yesterday, 11/25. We chose their venue because it’s a special place, as my cousin got married here back in 2006.

The whole process with booking and finalizing details was seamless. Lindsay was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. We reserved the Grain Room, which was warmly decorated for the holiday, lots of burgundy and gold accents, and votive candles lit with the fireplace on. We had our choice of dishes for the menu, bar options, and we had our choice of linen colors.

We opted for the three cheese ravioli and wheat berry salad. Our guests had a choice of mahi mahi with mango champagne salsa, short ribs with mashed potatoes, and three cheese canelloni. We also brought our own cake, but opted for a cookie plate for each table as an add on. Portions were very generous and the food was delicious.

I also have to give kudos to Blanca and Anthony who went above and beyond to take great care of our family and made sure we had everything we needed— our wine glasses were always full and our hearts are happy, as this turned out to be a memorable occasion for us all. Thank you so much to the staff of the Grain House for helping to make this occasion so special.

I recently had the pleasure of working as a photographer at The Grain House, located within the historic Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. I had the honor of capturing the beautiful wedding of Jodi and Nick, and I must say that the experience was nothing short of remarkable.

The Grain House is an absolutely breathtaking venue, with its rustic charm and elegant decor providing the perfect backdrop for any special occasion. The staff at the Grain House were incredibly professional and accommodating, ensuring that every detail was taken care of and that the bride and groom were able to enjoy their day to the fullest.

The Grain House's attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the venue, from the stunning outdoor gardens to the beautifully appointed indoor spaces. The food was also exceptional, with a wide range of delicious options that catered to every guest's taste buds.

Overall, I would highly recommend The Grain House to anyone looking for a stunning and unforgettable venue for their wedding or special event. It was truly a pleasure to work with such a talented and dedicated team of professionals, and I look forward to capturing many more special moments at The Grain House in the future.

Wanted to meet a couple of friends for a consistently good place to eat with healthy options and outdoor dining. The Grain House met our needs. As always, the service was absolutely wonderful. It’s an incredibly friendly staff from the time you walk in the door to the time you depart. Even the individuals who refill your water and bus your table are kind and always smiling. The atmosphere is just right as the tables are spread out enough that you can enjoy your conversation and enjoy the beautiful grounds. We had these wonderful watermelon martinis and for my main course I had the Blackened Florida Grouper with southern succotash and a key lime beurre blanc. Delish!!! And, clean bathrooms to boot!

Classic American restaurant. The braised beef short ribs were great. I was also surprised by the mac and cheese wedge, which arrived as a large slice, breaded and deep fried. It was completely unexpected but it was delicious. The “mini” apple pie while small in size was very filling and delightful.

A great pub food experience in a cozy environment. Very happy with my experience here. Ordered the French onion soup, a Caesar salad, and a burger, and I'd do it again. And I will! The place itself has a fun historic look and vibe. Our server was very friendly. The meal was not rushed. Food was very tasty, and I also hear great things about their brunch. A nice relaxing meal. Looking forward to going back.

We stopped at this restaurant after visiting Buck Garden. What I like about this restaurant is it is not only a historical place where they stored grain for the continental army based in Jockey Hollow, but also have multiple rooms to dine in. We had lunch on the patio with tables and umbrellas up to protect you from the sun. We had the Simple Salmon Grill seasoned with grilled local garden vegetables, aged balsamic drizzle perfectly prepared. The Angus beef burger with sweet potato fries was not greasy and perfectly cooked medium rare. Dessert was a Lemon Curd with fresh cut strawberries and topped with whipped cream. Before we left we saw the Fox and Hunt room a more formal dining room and the Hunt and tap room downstairs perfect for a wedding party with outdoor garden. This will be the go to restaurant for lunch in Basking Ridge, NJ. A real treasure with great chef and waitress serving.

I hosted a Bridal Shower at the Grain House last week in the Grain Room. I was SO pleased with the outcome. The room was set up SO lovely, the food was excellent, I ordered cupcakes, which were delicious. The servers, Adda and Andrea, were outstanding and could not be more helpful. Kate, the Sales Manager who managed my reservation, responded quickly to my many questions and provided advice when I asked. I highly recommend this venue if are looking to host a party. Thank you Grain House.

LOVELY dinner. Patrick was a great server.

I was in town for a funeral and had had a pretty rough week, and this entire dining experience from start to finish was phenomenal. It’s always weird to be a solo diner with a book in hand at a somewhat pricey restaurant, but I felt right at home here.

Their pork chop was amazing, and the chef even whipped up a couple bowls of sautéed peppers for me (habaneros, pepperoncinis, etc). If I’m ever in town again, I’ll definitely stop by.

Love this restaurant. The menu is great. I want to order everything. When I go back, I always try something new! Today was the poached eggs with hollandaise & creamed spinach. Service is always friendly and good

Simply put, it's the BEST!!! When I worked in the office, it was our staple go-to for all the holiday parties, birthday celebrations and Friday lunches. Food is fresh, delicious and consistent! It's always as good as I remember! Can't recommend it highly enough! Now, I drive all the way from Staten Island, NY to dine there! #marusikapproved, #tenstars

The food was very good. The service was good, but I found our waiter to be a bit gruff. Being Valentine’s Day the place was a bit noisier than usual too.

Great burger for lunch. Sweet potato fries were super. Onion soup was three right size as an app. Onion rings were tasty crispy yet loaded with oil. Asked for Tabasco a couple of times from when first ordering apps then again when ordering lunch. I got it when done eating from two separate people. - Thanks.

Stunning wedding venue, amazing bar and food. The venue is amazing for outdoor weddings in the late spring/summer. The staff were great and its one of the few times I've had food handled by a venue that was amazing regadless of which dish was chosen.

Cozy, warm spot for a chilly evening with treasured friend with severe dietary restrictions. The server was so flexible in providing healthy options. Stranger acts of kindness always warm my heart. Also food was excellent!
