Mary's African Hair Braiding

They treated my 9 year old daughter so nicely, and her knotless braids were done very neatly!

Just wanted to take the time out to say I’ve never had bad experience with mary shop, she’s been doing my two girls and I hair for years, my kids love getting there hair done at Mary’s. Hands down, the best braiding shop in Plainfield, staff is polite and attentive!

The first time I got my hair done was back in 2015... I was recommended to Mary's and they did a excellent job on my box braids! I recently got my hair box braided again and I love them! I get compliments everyday & i would recommend going to them if your reading this review! Loyal customer for sure. New huge shop was a plus :-)

I came in at 10:00am and was promptly seated . The young lady who braided was hair was fast and did all the parts with precision. I asked her to not braid it tight on my edges and my crown and she complied . I thought the pricing was equivalent to what I would have paid if I had gone to the city.

The salon it’s self is huge compared to being packed in a box with everyone sitting on top of each other. I watched the owner greet everyone and arrange pricing . When she saw issues arising
With customers she promptly addressed it.

I’ve read bad reviews and really good ones. I think it depends on who you have braiding your hair . I really wish I got the young ladies name who braided my hair.

FYI : if you need to withdraw cash and be mindful you’ll have to walk a few blocks to find. Working atm

Got box braids (small) and the ladies did a great job ( if you have short hair, she can grip really good ), I went on a Tuesday as soon as they opened at 9am no customers were there and she started on my hair right away, as soon as the other two workers came in they started to do my hair as well , braids were done by 1:40pm!!! Will be coming back!

Mary's Braid Shop is awesome. I've been coming here for 5 months and I'm always happy with the service. Mary is always on time when I make appointments and the staff is a pleasure to be around. If you are looking to get your hair braided I highly recommend stopping in.

Today was my first time going to Mary’s hair salon and I had a great experience. Faith is very nice, she did an excellent job with my box braids. The owner Mary is also very nice. I Will definitely be going back here to get my hair done.

I've been coming to this shop for more than 15 years and I love it!!! This shop is so friendly and professional. They give you exactly what you ask for. They cater to any hair type and every length. This shop never disappoints.

I'm seeing some negative reviews and I find this very hard to believe. In all my years of going to this shop, I have never had any bad experiences or experienced anything close to what some people are saying. I always recommend this shop to my friends and family which is something that I would never do if I felt like they wouldn't take care of your hair. This shop has grown my hair back when all of it fell out due to over processing. I don't trust any shop other than Mary's. She has one of the most professional staffs I've ever encountered. It is very possible these women had preexisting conditions, such as over processing medication etc.. I highly doubt any of these reviews hold any merit as I have been in this shop and seen many customers try to get out of paying for services rendered. Shame on you for trying to discredit this shop. This place is highly recommended.

Mary's African hair braiding is a wonderful place of business and they have excellent customer service. I had faux locs done by them and it came out beautifully but I did not like the style for myself. Mary is such a great business owner that she told me to come in and she changed my style for me with no issues. I appreciate the great customer service and I recommend this place to anyone who likes getting their hair braided.

I have been going to this shop for the past few years with my wife to get our hair done and we have never been disappointed. They do a good job and the owner and her workers are very friendly and helpful. A big thumbs up for the excellent job they do and will recommend everyone to give them a shot, trust me you won’t regret it

Just got my hair braided here and it came out absolutely stunning. Showed my stylist/braider a pic of what I wanted and she did it better than the pic!! All the ladies were super nice and funny. 5 stars for sure!!

My first time going to the shop, the wait was a little long but everyone already had a client so understandable, everyone was so nice & helpful. Told jokes the whole time & even had 3 people working on my head so I wouldn’t be there all night! apologized for any inconvenience and way cheaper than where I usually go to, will deffinitly come back!

I live getting my hair brsided the only concern I have is that Mary braiders some are very good some are bad lazy. My hair is short if its not mary or I think her sister mt hair isn't done correct.

Mary was very nice and the young lady that did my daughter's box braids did a great job. I would bring my daughter here again to get her hair done.

They are the best ! especially the young girl name Mary! her hands are truly blessed. my hair styles always last a long time !
