ive never had a better experience at a dmv in my life. dawn helped me exchange my license and register my vehicle, i was in and out in about 20 minutes (i had an appointment). she was the sweetest woman ever and extremely informative and helpful. thank you dawn!!!!

Great place! They always take care of me and get me right in and out. I would still make an appointment though.

Just went in to turn in my plates, everyone was friendly and there really wasn't any lines for a Friday lunch hr.

I was trying to register a small used boat and had many questions regarding how to accomplish it. My call was returned by Dawn and her incredible patience was so helpful in figuring out the proper forms necessary. She was warm, funny, and super patient. MV should be so happy to have such a positive attitude in any employee. Thank you Dawn!

The office is broken down by department. Which helps keep different issues to a minimum. The receptionist was very helpful and will instruct you on where to go and what paperwork you need. Ensure that you go when you have time. The employees provide you with great service, but it takes them time to help everyone.

Everyone was so polite, just had to get a form notarized and it took no time at all! Make sure you make an appointment first. Even then I didn't have to wait long. If you're going to the DMV though, make sure to make time, they had long lines!

Compared to the many DMVs I've been too (Military) this js by far my #1. They're friendly, helpful, and relatively fast. Still a DMV.** 🤣🤣🤣

Best DMV experience I have had. James was excellent. In all we were helped by 3 people, all patient and helpful.

I made an appointment the weekend before and even though I was a little early (about 10 minutes) and I was still promptly served. Renewing my license was fairly painless, and having forms filled out ahead of time makes your time there shorter, and their jobs easier.
A big improvement over previous trips.

The staff was super friendly and willing to help. Made appointment months ago, but many people in line to check in, not allowing to social distance. Staff worked as fast as possible to clear the back up. A deli style number system could be useful. Other than that staff did well dealing with non appointment people arriving.

My appointment was quick and I left with everything I needed.

I went to exchange my out of state drivers license for a New York license. Going to their website beforehand, I was able to quickly navigate to the section for exchanging out of state licenses. From there, the page gave me a list of forms of identification to pick from, once I completed my selections the site gave me a printout of all documents I needed to bring with me.

After bringing all the documents from my checklist I was in and out in 10 minutes with my new license and while the system was processing my information, Tasha was able to explain to me how to register my vehicles with the military tax exemption. She also provided the paperwork for it and went over everything I needed to fill out so I can be just as prepared for my next appointment.

I'm fully confident that my next appointment for my plate registrations will go as smooth as this time.

I made an appointment and was 5 minutes late. They said " no problem". Help me with the paperwork that was mostly filled out explained everything to me and was done in about 10 minutes. Super courteous and vry pleasant. Third time I have been there and it's always the same. Lot Betty

Long line moved fast, ladies working were extremely helpful and said 'no problem, we'll fix it here' when I got to the counter with the wrong paperwork. About 16 people In front of me on a Friday afternoon around 3pm and I was being served withing 25 minutes. (keep in mind this is the line for people registering vehicles, title transfers, etc) was a bit worried when I saw some of the negative reviews, but will definitely not be worried to do business at this dmv again

Came at a reasonable time (9:30am) before the rush and got out extremely quick! Just moved to NY and got both a license and registration completed in 30 min. If you are prepared with everything you need (See online checklist), everything goes fast. Also, Dawn is incredibly positive and helpful. After seeing all the negative reviews I knew I had to throw a positive one in there to give people hope.

Everyone was so friendly and professional and courteous. Super painless, especially since we scheduled 3 appointments (one for each transaction as required) and had all documentation filed out appropriately. Took less than 30 minutes for 2 out of state license transfers and 1 car registration. Great work Jefferson County DMV team!

I was seeing promptly. I arrived 5min before my appointment, were greeted and checked in by a receptionist at the door.
I proceeded to the window were my DMV agent was very friendly and helpful.
I was dreading going base on all the negative reviews but I am happy to report that everyone was very pleasant and helpful.

Everyone complains about our DMV but I had a really good experience at this location today. I needed to upgrade my license class. Went in with an appointment and paperwork all filled out and I was there for 5 minutes. Handed over the paperwork, paid the $5 fee and she voided my current license and handed over the new temporary license.

My tip to those planning to go to the DMV: Set up an appointment and arrive on time with the paperwork filled out and ready.

Going to the DMV is seldom a pleasant experience, but the staff at this site works tirelessly to help customers. I was impressed by their professionalism.

Sandy and Chris we're most helpful. I didn't have all my paperwork but they were kind and patient in working me through the process. I liked the appointment process too. Better than waiting in line.

Due to COVID, I dropped off what I thought were all the required documents to get my motorcycle registered as I am new to NY state, moving from AZ. The next day I received a very pleasant phone call that I was missing a few items. Completely my fault, but it was a good experience and they were on top of it. I appreciated the time they took to give me a call. I emailed the rest of the documents and my plates got to me quickly. Very good experience.
