We had a lovely night here. We came to celebrate our anniversary and see the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It is such a cute place.
We actually walked to dinner around the corner to The Harp. After dinner it was still.light enough so we walked down the street that the Stone Gables is on. They are under construction, however, you could see the beautiful old homes being brought back to their beauty.
I would highly recommend the Stone Gables, however, you do have to be able to do stairs.

My wife and I stayed here two nights. The entire facility is clean and well-maintained. Our room (The Franklin) is a suite. It has a bedroom with a king-size bed, a large wardrobe, a side table, and a night table with a lamp. The bed was very comfortable. The other room is a sitting room that has a queen-size bed, a futon, a nice antique chair, and a side table with a TV. The bathroom is small, but it has a large walk-in shower. The hot water takes a minute to get up to the third floor, but it is a nice shower once it is up to temperature. Outside the suite, on the landing, is a refrigerator/freezer that serves the two rooms on that level.

The furniture is all antique and lends a late 19th century, guilded-era ambiance to the entire Inn. There are numerous areas to sit and read. The main-floor living room is particularly impressive. We enjoyed the 10 ft. ceilings of our suite!

Be aware that if you end up staying on the third floor (where our room was located) you will have to climb 50 steps. That includes the steps from the Inn's parking lot to the entrance. No elevator!

Communication from the hosts was timely and detailed. The neighborhood is very quiet. If you want to walk to the great restaurants, breweries, and West Side Market of downtown Ohio City, it's a pleasant stroll of only 0.75 mile. You can do it easily in 15 minutes. We highly recommend The Stone Gables Inn.

It was a really nice stay because when I got there they were super kind and respectful and it was a nice stay! They gave me a room for a really cheap and affordable price, and the service and rooms were great. I loved the experience it was really nice, and I really liked it. I went here to sleep and I loved the beds and cushions and I checked the bed for dirty bacteria and the sheets were washed. I love this hotel it is one of the best. I love it here, I wish I could stay more, but I was just going for vacation in Ohio and it was so fun! This place is one of the best hotels I have ever went to. There was also plenty of space and I also went to the bathroom and it was so clean I oved it here!

We chose this place because it was a very quiet, beautiful environment and next to the lake and the Pavillion we needed to attend for a concert. I love these old houses, the rooms were clean, no noise from other guests, easy access with correct instructions from the owners. We stayed in Damon's room which was like a dream to me. The shower and tub was AMAZING. I would definitely stay here again.

I have never booked at B&B, so naturally I was hesitant—without reason, as it turned out! This is a gem hidden conveniently 13 (walking) min from downtown! Its a mansion built before the turn of the century with all the best present amenities. The house is gorgeous, the big mature trees surrounding the property gives it a more peaceful natural feel. Our room was The Damon Room—it was spotless and so comfy! We, accidentally left an item and the owner contacted us immediately!! Over all great experience!!

Charmingly haunted. Enjoyed staying here while in Cleveland. Each room is unique (the place was empty so I was forced to explore).

The place was built originally in the mid 1800’s by a “wooden wares” manufacturing tycoon named John Bousfield. After the dreaded “Panic of 1873,” John’s company went bankrupt and he lost all of his business assets, as well as the home, to creditors. He launched a furious comeback with another wooden gadget company, however that business also went down, literally, in a massive fire. So the 1800’s remain undefeated in delivering cruel outcomes. But I guess if your product is many wooden things and you aren’t an early adopter of 1870’s fire sprinkler technology, it’s just a matter of time. Credit to Cleveland Historical for that bedtime story.

Evidently the home has 17 rooms. I failed in my quest to find them all.

Our Airbnb reservation was canceled on us at the last minute, so we scrambled to find a place in Ohio City to stay for the night. We stumbled upon Stone Gables Inn, and what a find! Charming, warm, cozy, in a perfect location, and well-priced! Will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area.

Extremely friendly host (with top tier restaurant recommendations).
The room (and the mansion as a whole) is amazing. This is perhaps the first and only time that I have been awed by how beautiful a stay is (comfort is way out of the question). I would shill the living daylight out of everything about this place.

We stayed in the Stone Gables 2 nights this week. It is a gorgeous home with 12 foot ceilings, beautiful furnishings. The bed was extremely comfortable and the private bath was large and completely up to date. Everything was spotlessly clean and quiet. The location was very central for exploring downtown and the west side, and well connected to mass transit. The highlight was the exquisite breakfasts and great tips provided by Kelly. We will plan to stay here again.

Stayed two nights in the blue room. Beautifully furnished, comfortable room with all updated bathroom/shower. Friendly, helpful owners. Located in historic neighborhood that used to be old Ohio City, now seems to be a growing arts community. Seems to be convenient to most 'tourist' places in the area, local restaurants and some breweries. A wonderful change from the same old hotels but you do have to be able to climb stairs. I loved the stay.

Clean, comfortable and quiet.

This review is long over due, although we are Cleveland locals we stayed here planning an evening in Ohio city.

A welcoming host, tastefully decorated rooms, private bath. Delicious gourmet french toast breakfast.
There is an added upstairs sitting room.
It was nice to have a wonderful selection of Teas and cocoa to fend off winter's chill.
-Truly a home away from home.

As soon as I laid eyes on the mansion that is Stone Gables Inn, I knew it was the perfect choice. Do yourself a favor and make sure you check in when the sun is up. I didn't have that luxury on day one. When I left in the morning, I couldn't believe I was fortunate enough to spend some time in the Loft of such a historical gem. Since it was in the evening, I felt so safe in the area it is in but even more secure with the gated and well lit parking lot. The door is code entry only.

From the cozy beds and perfect lighting to the whirlpool tub and modern feel, metal, spiral staircases, everything meshes together in harmony. I won't even check Airbnb for another place if I'm heading to Ohio City area in Cleveland. Connie's place has my heart and I can't wait to book again. She is super responsive and thoughtful to her guests!

It was our first time staying at the Inn, so we weren't sure what to expect. But let me tell ya, this bed and breakfast was spectacular! Very clean, comfy beds, spacious rooms, inexpensive, great food and much more. Definitely staying here next time we load the family up for a Cleveland road trip. Such an enjoyable stay, highly recommend!

My husband and I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before and we decided to try this one out for our time in Cleveland. The house was very clean and cozy. The amenities were great as well. We had our own spacious bathroom in our room and TV with cable. There was a Keurig in the kitchen/dining area for coffee any time. There was a nice continental style breakfast every morning that included bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal and milk, juice and fresh fruit. They also had security cameras facing the private parking lot; which made me feel better about leaving our car there all day while we toured the city.

The location of Stone Gables was within a nice neighborhood. It was also within walking distance from some very nice restaurants or a quick Uber ride to downtown.

Connie was so amazing! She always went out of her way to make us feel right at home!

We had a wonderful stay here and would recommend Stone Gables to anybody traveling to Cleveland. We already want to go back to Cleveland and we will definitely being staying at Stone Gables when we do!

This is a wonderful, friendly and centrally-located B&B in a beautiful neighborhood. The hosts and other guests were lovely people, and Stone Gables is two blocks from the #26 bus, which can take you right downtown in about 8 minutes. It is in Ohio City, which is a fun neighborhood with lots of good restaurants. It is also near the beach, and has easy access to the interstate.

Very quiet rooms. Nice TVs. And it is easy to come and go. I was arriving a bit late, and it was no problem at all. I will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay over two nights! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and our hosts were very friendly. They even provided us with a list of attractions and local favorites when we checked in. Located within walking distance of Lake Erie, restaurants, and West Side Market. I highly recommend this B&B!

I found Stone Gables online, went to the website, explored the whole place and I was sold on it being a great way to spend several days in Cleveland. I had no idea how good it would be.
The exterior is epic. Old world look surrounded by lush gardens.
The first step inside I thought of home, the smell of Apple/Cinnamon, classic furniture / carpet in a dimly lit hallway and the piano, decor, design and art work completed a very upscale place to stay.
We stayed in the Red Room. Everything in the room made feel less like guests and more like family. Having our own bathroom added to an already great beginning.
The bed was high quality as were the linens.
We slept soundly. Breakfast the next morning was homemade by Richard personally for us and it was delish. Then he sat and ate with us and gave us great tips on things to do in Cleveland. We followed his tips and had a wonderful time.
Richard defines what a perfect host is. He treated us like his family and when we come back we will look at no other place as this was the best travel experience we've had.

Stone Gables was an amazing! The Bed and Breakfast had beautiful old charm that transported you back in time but updated enough to be comfortable and inviting. It was SUPER clean and homey. Connie and her staff outdid themselves with hospitality and efficiency. Every detail was meticulously crafted and executed brilliantly. It was just my husband and I but it would be perfect for a big group as well! Every time we come to Cleveland we will be staying Here! If I could give it more stars I would!

To everyone at Stone Gables, Thank You for providing us with exceptional above and beyond service. Great room in a fantastic location! Everything we wanted to see in historic Ohio City was only a short walk away through an incredibly friendly neighborhood. Just a short drive away, we enjoyed some of Cleveland’s best kept secrets, their Metro Parks. We’ll be back!

My husband and I recently spent a day and night in Cleveland. Our night was spent at Stone Gables. When we arrived at the Stone Gables B & B we were enthusiastically welcomed at the door by Connie. As it turned out, Connie had just become the new owner of the B & B on Friday and we were her very first guests (arriving on Monday)! Although Connie may be new to the B & B business, she is a skilled conversationalist who clearly enjoys meeting people and helping them find great places to visit in the City. Our visit included a terrific lunch at the Great Lakes Brewery and a fun day strolling through the R & R Hall of Fame. We later headed to Lola's Bistro for an exceptional dinner! Connie and her husband recommended topping the evening off with a visit to the Collision Bend Brewery down on the river. Sitting on the deck watching the barges go under the bridges and hearing the trains move along while sipping a wine/beer was the perfect ending to this quick Cleveland stop-over. In the morning, Connie served a beautiful breakfast including excellent coffee, plentiful fresh fruit and yummy waffle bites with glaze and maple syrup (optional). Next time we are in this area we will have no trouble deciding where to stay...Stone Gables B & B is now on our list of places to return to. Plus...we found there is much more to see and do in Cleveland than we ever realized!
