Half Day Cafe

First time here. WOW! The Half Day Cafe really knocked it out of the park! It’s very clean and bright with attentive and friendly waitstaff. I opted for the Goetta Hash and it was incredible. Very good! The fresh squeezed orange juice was a nice touch. My white chocolate marshmallow latte was the icing on the cake. The owner came over and said hello and when he discovered it was my first time and that I like grits and sausage gravy he brought me some samples of each. Now I know what else to order when I come back! An overall 5 star incredible breakfast/brunch experience and I can’t wait to return.

Stop by this lovely breakfast spot after a doctors appointment mishap…all I can say is please add 5 more stars🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟!!
The food was delicious the coffee was delicious and the service was excellent!! When you can drink coffee without flavored creamer… oh it’s the bomb🥰

Hands Down my favorite breakfast spot. Their custom blend coffee is amazingly smooth and delicious. My favorite dish is the Huevos Divorciados(pictured) add Carnitas. This dish has all the flavor and depth you can ask for in a breakfast dish. They have plenty of Gluten free options as well. Their servers are always kind and efficient. I love sitting at the counter, it gives me that old-style diner feel. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Quaint diner with delicious food and drinks! We had Banana Pudding French Toast and a Western Omelet with Rosemary Potatoes. Lattes are absolutely wonderful (great beans!) and everything is very reasonably priced. Friendly staff!

We came in as a party of 17 on a busy Sunday morning and they were so nice and accommodating! The food was delicious! The best biscuit & gravy and the best strawberries & french toast we’ve ever had! Will for sure come back when we’re in the area again!

One of the best breakfast places in Cincinnati! I've been there a few times before this morning and it has consistently been great - both food and service. The staff had always been happy and friendly. Today I had some coffee and the Half Day Ultimate Combo. The coffee is excellent. The combo had 2 eggs, which I chose fried over easy. I got the sausage patties - I think they make the sausage. It also came with a bowl of white cheddar grits, and 2 pieces of French Toast. I added a side of toast. I started with the grits. I could tell they were fresh and they were seasoned wonderfully for a breakfast dish. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The toast was good - great for sopping up the yolk and making a little egg sandwich with. The sausage was as awesome as it has been and what I expect to get. Not overly spicy but just the right amount of sage. It's not as fatty as most other breakfast sausages I've had, but the flavor and consistency is spot-on. A great addition to the little egg sandwich! I upgraded the French Toast to the Cherry Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast. What a great decision! The cherries were tart but were complimented by the sweet sauce. The French Toast was light and the cheesecake filling was just the right amount. Dusted with powdered sugar. It was sweet but wasn't too heavy. A nice little breakfast dessert. 🙂 Half Day Cafe is in my rotation of cream-of-the crop places to dine!

I had the Mango Butter Rum French toast, bacon, and coffee. I was part of a large group. First, the food was delicious; everyone in the group enjoyed their food. My French toast was crispy and the mango topping was tasty. The bacon was sliced thick but not too crisp which is the way I enjoy it the best. The coffee was excellent as well. Second, the service was top notch. Our waitress stopped by frequently to refresh drinks and check that everything was in order. I would recommend this restaurant.

We ordered online, and it was quick and easy. They have a special area for quick "take away," which is super convenient. We ordered:

1. Geotta hash - I ordered with no cheese and subbed a fruit cup for toast. The hash was delicious, and the peppers and potatoes were seasoned well. The gliers geotta was good as always. The eggs were cooked perfectly. (4.5/5 🌟)

2. Half day breakfast combo - we ordered this with sausage patties. These were accompanied by cheesy scrambled eggs, white cheddar grits, and French toast.
- The French toast was fire 🔥 (5/5 🌟).
- The eggs and sausage patties were ok.
(3/5 🌟).
- The white cheddar grits were slightly
underdone. The flavors were great,
though. (4/5 🌟)

Great place for breakfast! Would visit again and order some other menu items.

Consistently a very good experience. Welcomely varied American breakfast and brunch menu. Talented, energetic, and courteous staff. Dining area is clean, open, and bright, with a subdued music track that allows for quiet conversation. The quality is high, while the prices are not.

Second time here and there will be many more in the future! Paige was an absolute gem of a waitress! Super friendly, super attentive, and a woman after my own heart! Definitely trying the chorizo poutine with EXTRA pork belly next time!!

Great Breakfast place. We ordered mimosa and it is with fresh orange juice- the part I liked the most. All the food that we ordered were very good. Loved the place.Ambience is not that great but I think that’s ok.

Clean and bright atmosphere, friendly and warm staff, affordable and delicious eats. Breakfast was delicious -- biscuits and sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, potatoes, gotta, grits, French toast. Good coffee. Fresh flowers on table is an appreciated detail. You can tell the staff work hard to keep this restaurant operating well. Option to eat outside as well. Definitely would eat here again!

The coffee is great, the food is fantastic for a good price and I have always had wonderful service here.
Try the biscuits and gravy... They are cut in half and griddle cooked to give them a little crunch and they're served with a sausage patty in them. It's delicious!

Half Day Cafe was sooooo good! We sat at the bar and were lucky not to wait for a table. They had about a 25-minute wait for seating. Our server was super cute and friendly. She did a great job really. We did not have to look for her or wait for anything. She kept the cups full and cleared the empty plates quickly. Just attentive enough even though she was pretty busy. I had some sort of cocoa french toast with marshmallows. I can't remember what it was called, but it was a seasonal item. It was very sweet and tasty. Almost more of a dessert rather than breakfast but very delicious. My husband had a traditional breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fried potatoes, and pancakes. The eggs weren't great but were ok. He thought they should have cooked a little longer. I tried his potatoes and sausage. I'm not a big fan of any sausage, but don't hate it. I will say it was hands down the best sausage patty I've had. Probably ever. The potatoes were nothing to write home about but were also nothing to complain about. I liked them. Pancakes were just average but cooked well. The coffee was probably the best diner coffee I've had in a pretty long time. The only complaint or rather negative thing I can speak of is that it was kind of difficult to get to the bar to sit and eat. The place was really crowded, as you would expect on a Sunday at 10 am. The tables were all full and really close together. It made it some what of an obstacle course to navigate our way to the open counter seats. As we were trying to leave, there was quite a cluster of people everywhere near the doors. Some were waiting for the host to seat them, standing room only, and bursting out the door. Others were just walking in needing to get on the wait list with the host. There were also people leaving needing to pay the host. She seemed to be doing a good job. The best she could. But what a stressful position when it's so busy like it was this morning. Overall, it was pretty good, and we definitely would return! Just probably not on a Sunday morning. Lol

This place is a delight! Between the friendly staff, kind owner, and good food/drink, you cannot beat it. Everything is tasty and they truly care about their clients. Did I mention the delicious coffee? Whether you drink your coffee black or fancy, their triple bean locally roasted coffee blend is really good! I always enjoy my time at Half Day.

First time there today and had a late breakfast. Place was really clean and bright. I ordered the combination with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and chocolate chips pancakes. My husband got a cheese and goetta omelette. Excellent coffee from Seven Hills Roasters and Earl Grey tea from Harney rounded out an excellent experience. Will be back to try other dishes.

The Bloody Mary pitcher is amazing! Food was good and service was superb! The owner was hands on and a very gracious host ! We will be back for sure!

The food was sooo good. The pumpkin Pancakes were delicious! Our waiter was the sweetest person you would ever meet. Everything she recommended we tried and it was a excellent choice. The veggie omlete was good, seasoned well and fresh veggies. When we are back in town we will stop in again
