This is an amazing curated museum and lighthouse. Very much worth the trip. Lovely little town with cute little shops and restaurants. The Finnish Museum is definitely worth the trip as well. Highly recommend!

I love this park/beach. So much so, that I frequently travel from the west side to pay it a visit.

Everyone that I’ve encountered there have all been pleasant, and I’ve always felt safe here, even when alone. It’s on the smaller side, but it makes it feel more quaint (it does get crowded during the summer, so arrive early!). You can rent kayaks and stand-up paddle boards during the summer months, as well as purchase some fun summer treats from the concession stand. It’s a peaceful way to catch a sunrise, grill out with some friends, or watch the boats pass through.

Our favorite place to relax at the beach. There is everything you need available, including bathrooms, shower stalls, and a snack bar. It is quiet and a perfect place to watch the fireworks on the fourth of July or the sunset every evening. Walking distance to town, especially a must visit location the Fairport Harbor Creamery or breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Fairport Harbor Family Restaurant.

Fun to come down to the park and beach. When we were there, Independence Weekend, there were plenty of people attending the carnival, but we also got to see a large ship sail out to sea. It was a little chilly abs late so E didn't get to play in the water, but captured some great photos.

Every summer, we come here as a family. The beach is clean and well maintained. There were plenty of lifeguards on duty. The parking is super cheap...only $2 for residents of Lake County and $3 for everyone else. You can bring or rent kayaks and paddle boards. There was an area to grill and the concession stand was open. The concession, might I add, was very very affordable even with the inflation these days. All in all, we had another lovely time. This place is one of the reasons why I love Lake County and Northeast Ohio.

Went to Reggae in the Harbor and it was a blast. Nice job Fairport. 👍
Not a bad place to kayak on Independence Day either. 🇺🇲

Nice beach, pretty clean - seen better & worse. There is a natural wind which made it much better than the state park beach. A cool public fire pit, very nice view. Nice bathrooms. I definitely recommend it.

We love being by the water. Plenty of parking, museum nearby, great afternoon for the whole family. If it's windy, bring a jacket.

Short details:

Awesome beach park. For a small entrance fee you get access to a lake front park that is super clean and well maintained, with lifeguards and lots of beach area. The water quality is always posted outside the entrance hut, which leads into a relative medium sized parking area. With small restroom area and shallow wading area, a great place to relax with family and friends, or just by yourself to get a tan on the beach or cool off in the water.

Complete review:

The beach front is pretty long before you reach the shoreline, allowing for a lot of fun activities, and is always very clean and usually safe. There is a partial boardwalk and partial mesh track to walk very easily out about half way onto the beach itself. Always remember to bring an umbrella if you dont want a tan! Altho no food or beverages sold on site (so bring your own), remembrr not to leave any unattended food or they will definitely be lost to the seagulls (see alternative review for "Seagull Smackdown Birdfighting arena".. jk)

The water quality can vary depending on the weather and can be clear on great days, while the shoreline is a combo of gravel and sand, and very shallow allowing knee height wading for about 50 feet out before becoming very deep, so kids (while should always be monitored) can enjoy the water under a watchful eye. Best thing is to walk with folding chairs and place them in the water to sit and enjoy a little sun and a little splashing around at the same time.

There are quite a few jet skis and some kayaks, I believe for rental all along the wading area. Lakefront pier allows for yachts to make a pitstop and enjoy the sandy beach as well.

The restrooms are a bit small with 2 to 3 stalls and a changing room/toilet combined, but usually well kept, with shower post outside to rinse off after swimming.

As for picnic areas there are a few outdoor grills around the front just off parking next to the restrooms. And for larger gatherings there are a few permanent circular tents with concrete floors great for family and friends or groups larger than 8.

This is a wonderful beach. As long as you get here early, and it's not too busy, it's easy and cheap to park ($3 for out of county, $2 in county). The views are beautiful, and the facilities have everything you need: bathroom, changing rooms separate from the bathroom, showers, concessions stand. There is even a small playground. They have kayak and paddle board rentals right on the beach. There are lifeguards as well. The water is shallow and very consistent in depth, pretty much the same depth of about 3 feet almost all the way out to the swimming ropes, where it does get a little deeper, 5+ feet. The water seems clean, and they do have algae postings, and both times we went the water was safe per the green sign. There is plenty of sand on the beach, but be aware that as you step into the water it does get rocky until you get further out to more sand. This can be uncomfortable on your feet, so you may want to consider water shoes, although most people do fine without them.

Overall, great beach experience. We will visit again!

There is a small fee to get into the parking lot but this beach is a great spot to spend a warm or hot summer day. The shallow areas are great for kids & there's a playground. There are some picnic tables under a pavilion or ones in the open. Plenty of restrooms & changing rooms. There is a great ice cream spot just up the street from the park. It's a short walk or a good spot to stop on your way out. The town of Fairport Harbor is cute & full of history. The lighthouse is very cool to see & you can go inside as well. A small restaurant is a block up from ice cream spot & the food is very good. It has limited hours so be sure to check before you go.

The beach is so nice here. Great facilities. Has a nice pavilion area that someone had reserved for a party. Nice bathroom area. We enjoyed the well maintained playground. Also they have a firepit on the beach with benches that people were using from the party. They added a boardwalk and areas with seating some of what are covered from the sun. They did not have a lot of trash laying around. Plenty of containers to dispose of waste. You can also rent kayaks here and people did have their dogs with them on the dog side of beach while we were down there. Went off season so you don't have to pay for parking now but when it is in season you do have to pay to park your car. Personally I think its worth it for the nice updated facilities they provide. Love it.

It's a really nice place to watch the sunset. There's a really nice bench and a little book library up the small hill at the end of Vine Street.

Beautiful beach. Very nice sand and a nice little playground/jungle Jim area. They also have an ice cream shop on site which was nice. You pay to park, but it was only $3 for the day so well worth it.

This place is great. The sand is so smooth and not really any rocks in the water or the sand. There's life guards, a concession stand, multiple bathrooms and changing rooms, places to rinse your feet and a playground all along the beach!!!! We had so much fun that we traveled up there twice in a month and we live 2 hours away. We can't wait to return again. Also, you do have to pay to park on the weekends just FYI. Even though this is a small park it beats headlands or geneva any day!!

Also this year, due to covid, the canoes and surf boards were not available and the concession stand was limited but it's still a great time.

Nice little beach with all the amenities. Lifeguards on duty seem professional. The water is not too deep and the bluff keeps the waves down. This is a great place for small kids. There bathroom was not squeeky clean, but it was fine.
