On Memorial day (5-27-19) my wife and I was there visiting my wifes parents gravesite and noticed the headstone had sank into the ground a bit. We saw a truck with a couple of workers and asked if we could borrow a shovel. Within a minute they had retrieved some shovels and were raising the headstone and getting dirt to fill around the edges. Thank you both for being friendly and just great people .

Relative burried here. Nice to walk around the cemetery. City does ok job with the money they get to keep it up. Beautiful scenery and the deer and wildlife are nice to watch.

My dad, and all four grandparents are buried here. Unfortunately, it is a City of Cleveland owned cemetery and not as cared for as a privately owned cemetery. I love to walk around and look at the older sections and stones, seeing the deer and wild life that call it home.

UPDATE- I did contact the cemetery and discussed my situation. The out of place stone was moved back to its original spot. For this I am grateful.
My Aunt Kay, cousin Gayle and sister-in-law Judy and I visited our family grave sites in Section 11 on Oct. 14, 2021. I hadn't been here since 1986. We were very disappointed in the appearance of this section. Shown in the photo is an example of what we found. Richard Blain's stone was in this same position back in 2016 when photos were taken by a group documenting the stones for Billion graves. (note that the taller grave behind his is standing on its head) My gg grandparents grave was pretty much buried by soil and sod and we had to work to make it viewable. Many other graves in this section are toppled and out of place. People pay to have their loved ones buried here and expect the cemetery to be kept up in a timely manner. I don't mind pulling some grass to get a good photo, but this was not acceptable.

Many toppled graves from tree roots. Large trees.

Several family members in this cemetery.
I like to decorate my family’s graves and several times I’ve done so they were removed a couple days later. The cost of decorations are not cheap and I’m angry that they are removed and thrown away every week. I understand you need to cut the lawn but there really should be a better way as to allow people to decorate and honor family members. I’ve never seen a cemetery without flowers! I decorated for mother’s day and thought they would leave the decorations up until the following week on Tuesday as I read in their information regarding holiday. I went back to retrieve the small ornaments and everything was gone!
Shame on the city ! If you want to up keep the cemetery try straightening up all the stones that are sunk in the ground and leaning, clear off the grass that is growing over headstones that people pay a lot of money for and can’t even see! It’s such a waste . Leave decorations up at least 30 days !

Cathy Reed my family is buried here and I have 2 veterans that are family it is very sad it's not taken care of I go every month to clean the headstones of my family and the surrounding vets. Some are so covered over you don't even realize a headstone is there until really digging to UN bury them

Can't leave anything lower than a one. This cemetary does not care at all. Another of the Graves are so overgrown you can't even see the stones. Every time we visit my grandparents grave we have to clean it off cut the grass and everything else.

I went to visit my parents graves today, only to find their headstones covered by grass and unreadable 😢 this is not the first time I’ve found them this way and I’m sure it won’t be the last! While there I found multiple stones covered in grass with a tiny bit of headstone peeping through. In the raised part of the cemetery there is broken stones, sinking stones and slanted stones. This is totally disrespectful to those that are buried there and to their families! I shouldn’t have to file a work order for basic maintenance!! I have included photos of my parents headstones for all to view. I will be back on SUNDAY, JUNE 2nd, 2019 and I hope and pray that my parents headstones are cleaned off!!

This is one horrible place to bury a loved one! The only reason my loved ones are there is because I had no saying in their burial...I would not bury a pet there! I went to visit my Mom's grave today and all the decorations we left for her last week were gone! I had nowhere to put fresh flowers on her grave and had to use small stones to put up the flowers! I also saw a woman there with her dog to do its business... people have no respect! I hope someone cr@ps on her grave one day!I hope I don't end up there one day, I'd rather be creamated and my ashes thrown into lake Erie!

My family and I went to West Park today. We were very upset by the way the cemetery is being kept. Lawn not cut in all areas, weeds all over the headstones. The veterans area was mowed but the headstones were still over grown. I'm thinking of buying a weed eater and sending my weekends going over ever headstone so that families can see their loved ones!!

I can't believe that Erie street cemetery is better kept then this one... and Erie street is over 20 years old.. I was told the stones are sinking because there's to much water running under this property and it's causing sink holes now I'm not sure if this is the case or not. But if so sounds like some engineers need to be brought in...
