We went to Benihana on Sunday afternoon. I have been wanting to go for some time. I read the reviews prior to going and I was surprised to read so many negative comments. I am happy to report that my experience was very good. We booked in open table for 2:15 and we were at out table at 2:35. The server took our drinks order. Shortly after our dinner order. While they were prepping our order in the back, we got our soup and salad. While waiting for our chef we had great conversation and even enjoyed other tables “show”. Our food was great; Javier, our chef, did a great job. Our server as well.

In addition, the place has improved their exhaust system and it does not feel stuffy as I recall from my last visit several years back.

I’ve been to Benihana probably 50 times, but I came here last night for my birthday dinner and our chef Michael was the best I’ve ever had. I was surprised to hear him say he was actually a new chef and that we were his first table. He did a phenomenal job and was so happy the entire time. We love you Michael!

Meet my Big Sis for Lunch since she’s on vacation. There wasn’t any wait once we checked in. Waitress immediately was at the table to take our order. The Food was cooked to perfection. The cook was very entertaining, even told a few jokes. I will say that was the best experience i’ve had from this location in awhile

Had a great time here. They seemed short-staffed so please be patient with them. Still had a great experience and the Chef was great! We will definitely be back and try some of the other stuff we didn't get to. Their menu just makes me want everything 😋 We got the hibachi but pictured is the dragon roll 🐉 and the volcano roll 🌋

Lunch was delicious. Like a good homestyle country savory lunch. Enjoyed the whole experience and definitely recommend this place for a place to eat in Memphis.

They have always been a favorite of mine for the ginger dressing and yum yum. I worked here for about a year and actually loved my job. But this last time I ordered food I got there and my order was never made. They weren't busy they just skipped my order totally. I had to wait in the bar for my food to be started and made and then I got ho.e just to realize my rice wasn't in the meal. It's a huge part of their meals so to not have it was a massive let down. Super sad about it. I feel like it's gone down hill and I hate that because it's quality is unmatched when done right. Sad that it seems they don't take pride in the store anymore.

Our visit was so bad. I sent an email to the company detailing our experience. I was very respectful, of course I never received a response...$150 bucks, over three hours, 2 1/2 spent waiting, and they wanted us to "squeeze" in with a large family that didn't make a correct reservation, by adding two chairs! Hell no.

I’ve been going to Benihana for decades with my family. Love the food! Tonight was a little bit different because there was an issue with my order twice but the manager, Aaron, stepped up, and really took care of my family. And all the staff were extremely friendly as we were waiting for things to get resolved thank you for caring for your customers generation after generation.

Excellent service this afternoon. Steak hibachi with chicken fried rice wins every time!

I was hungry after intermittent fasting, so I decided to eat here. I got Las Vegas rolls, double vegetable fried rice, and shrimp. The shrimp was a tad bit overcooked, but the chef did well otherwise. For dessert I had chocolate ice which is not pictured, but it was good.

We went for my husband's birthday and it was both of our first time. Our waitress was friendly and our Chef was great! We both really enjoyed both our dinner and the experience. We'll definitely be back

The service and food was wonderful. The chef was funny very social. Though, some of the customers we were sitting with was very rude to our waitress ... One even snapped and waved her hands at her as if she was some animal. That waitress kept a smile on her face and was wonderful the whole evening. You could tell she had a lot on her hands and did everything with smile. That waitress really made our night and I can't wait to go back again. Hopefully she's still there and hasn't been run off by rude customers. I only gave the atmosphere a 4 because you could tell they were in the middle of renovations which should be completed soon.

Lovely welcome by host. Sat at the bar had fresh sushi and a Benihana punch. If your not a drinker drinker this is a nice drink! The bartender was welcoming, courteous and attenative.

It's kind of in a weird spot and the outside looks a little run down but the interior is nice.
A lot of the teppenyaki experience is determined by the chef and ours was amazing. He cooked my steak and lobster perfectly to my request, added extra garlic butter and gave us the ginger dipping sauce we thought they didn't have because everyone else at the table got double yum yum sauce.
Overall a great meal and experience.

My family and I usually have a good time here. My husband and I went this past Wednesday for our anniversary and the chef was nice, funny and kept us entertained the entire time. The food was also delicious, as always.

Most entertaining meal that I will enjoy this month, hands down. My wife and I forgot about all of our outside world troubles while we were entertained by the wait staff. We plan to return to celebrate for our next event.
