Sweet and spicy mole chicken enchiladas with arroz on the side. Wonderful chicken tamalitos. Excellent potatoes as a side to a delicious steak torta. The salad a chips are very fresh. Good portions.

I met my friends (including their small 4 legged fur baby) for dinner here last Friday and we dined outside in the festive courtyard. Instantly the weight of the work week was lessened by the owner's warm and friendly hospitality. As we sat and listened to jazz musician Ralph soothe us with his saxophone, we sipped on watermelon/cucumber agua fresca and enjoyed the ceviche (Acapulco style) and tortillas. I ordered empanadas which came in a set of 3 so I chose 2 shrimp and 1 potato. Incredibly delicious! Also at our table we ordered cochinitas, pupusas, steak, and a tropical Caesar salad. Martha, the owner, took time to figure out a tasty vegan option for my friend's daughter. With 19 years of catering, they truly are culinary artists! Their restaurant (inside or courtyard) is also available for private parties and they continue to do catering. Definitely a great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family. Plenty of street parking.

Really enjoyed our experience from start to finish here. Chef Arturo came out to the back patio to tell us about his specials for lunch, and we decided to try both. Super authentic, fresh, and incredibly flavorful!

Great back patio. This is a restaurant that will be a hot spot when word spreads, so get in here soon.

ALSO, chef Arturo told us that he gets a fresh shipment of Red Snapper every Friday to make his famous whole fried fish. Don't sleep on this, it is easily the best in town.

Have been here twice now and love the amount of flavor and depth that is always in every dish. The Huevos Motulenos now add chorizo to the dish for extra flavor. My husband had the chilaquiles which he said were excellent. This along with the fresh Sandia Agua Fresca and Latin music make for a fun Sunday Brunch.

In two visits had the verde chilaquiles, cochinita pibil, huevos motulenos, and chicken mole. Everything was delicious, and the service was great. Their chipotle salsa was so good I took some to go!

I'm so happy I found this little gem! BEST mole I've ever had! Everything on the menu reminded of my time in the Yucatan. I can't wait to come back and try EVERYTHING on the menu!

The recent review in The Sacramento Bee recommended this new restaurant with the Chef claiming he makes the best mole in town.
We were not disappointed. The mole with chicken enchiladas were excellent. Lunch plate was 3 delicious enchiladas , yummy cilantro rice with a few black beans on top . The 3 shrimp taco lunch , also delicious. Very nice touch , Chef Vargas personally coming out to the dining room to ensure everyone was satisfied with their meals. Definitely going back for dinner.

Chilis stuffed with sea bass was seasoned well and nicely spicy. Delicious torta was enormous, and served with chimichurri and pesto. Service was slow -- they had a group on the patio -- but they gave us some free ceviche to compensate, so we didn't mind.

Get your Casa Tulum experience before everyone else finds out. There’s no keeping this a best-kept secret—not with its simmering green pozole that can cure any ailment, nor its cochinita pibil, which hits all the right spots. The mole enchiladas may be the best in Northern California; those who crave a taste of Mexico City and East LA will not be disappointed.

Hidden gem, Loved it! New restaurant with few thrills, except for a fun patio. The chef is the real deal: authentic best mole, stuffed peppers and fresh fish that we've ever had in Sacramento. My wife says you can't ever go wrong with their ceviche 🏆🎖🎖🤩

Sure, yes, the mole. But you'll be rewarded if you go a little deeper down the menu.

The Pozole Verde tastes like the best home cooked meal you don't really have time to make yourself.

Of the tamales, I recommend the veggie, where else can I say that?

If ceviche is on the menu, give it a try. The seafood is fresh and the sauce is stronger, sweeter, and redder than most.

OMG amazing!! This was my FOURTH visit and it gets better with each dish. The most AUTHENTIC cochinita pibil you will taste in Sacramento.

For those of us who are gluten intolerant, this place is safe. Each time I've eaten there I have been good. Spoke with Chef Arturo and explained to him what va gluten allergy was. He confirmed he does NOT use any wheat/gluten ingredients in his dough for sopes, empanadas, or moles.

Worth a try! They are open every Sunday for breakfast/brunch until 3 pm. Not sure about the weekday schedule. (forgot to ask/look)

Not the best photo, but here's the dish my daughter enjoyed very much.... Pan fried Red Snapper. Super fresh and very delicious!!

This was my 1st visit to this restaurant. I was apprehensive about eating here because after looking inside the place looked empty. (Plus the cook was sitting by the entrance) which in my experience is never a good sign. But after being seated and noticing the lounge singer playing to an empty crowd I said what the hell, with a couple of beers anything could taste good. NOT AT ALL WHAT I EXPECTED!! I ordered their (get this) green posole! The kid helping us (probably high school) was very helpful and attentive and the lounge performer played exactly what we requested! The food was off the hook and I am returning as soon as I can..try anything here. The place feels like you're eating at a cousins or grandparents house.

The food is tasty! I went here with someone who has lived in the Yucatán Peninsula and he says their food brings him right back there. The waitstaff was also very helpful and gracious while we were there. If you’re dining in during the Covid Pandemic, they’re doing everything they should to keep you safe. Get a lunch reservation and you won’t be sorry!

Thanks guys!

The location was cozy, clean, and with warm atmosphere. Service was prompt, welcoming, and attentive.

Food was well prepared, tasted fresh, and deserving of high praise.

A fantastic location for a simple brunch or lunch, asv well as for more intimate meals. There is also a back patio for corporate or group events.

Mole is second to none! Patio has a cool new orleans or Mexico beach town vibe and is very inviting and quaint. Live music was bonus, although a bit loud at times. Camarones mojo de ajo also very awesome. Brought my kids, but the menu isn’t really kid Mexican food friendly, unless you have adventurous kids. Although they can accommodate a quesadilla if need be. Probably better for an adult date. Only complaint was the abundant fly population,, but it is August, so some leeway here. I will be back soon.
