While on an extended trip on my bike, I was having fuel starving/carb issues, and these guys were able to work me in and get me rolling again. Honest people and a great shop that are getting harder and harder to come by...don't be afraid to pop in and check em out. They were a lifesaver.

Awesome old school bike shop. My wife’s bike was losing the floorboard rubber isolation pad during our trip and they had 2 of them on the shelf!

I cannot say enough about the knowledge, level of service, quality, and professionalism at Backstreet Cycle; but if you’ve read other reviews about them you already know that. Here’s what I want to emphasize: these are GOOD people, going WAY above and beyond!

On Memorial Day Weekend we were 12 hours from home visiting the area when our Bike broke down. We knew no one and were at the mercy of strangers; a less reputable shop/mechanic could’ve taken advantage of that situation (plus, finding someone to work on the Bike on a holiday weekend in itself was daunting) but Bill put us at ease immediately as he and his son Dan began to assess the situation on Saturday afternoon.

I had the absolute pleasure of hanging out in the shop with Bill’s wife Mary (“Everyone calls me ‘Ma’”) and their other son Luke and dog Trapper. We were offered kindness (and food) while we waited, and when it became apparent that there was no quick fix and realizing that we’d have to rent a car for at least a day, Ma insisted on giving us a ride instead of paying for a shuttle to the Rental Agency. Once there, she came inside so she could make introductions (“I want them to know you’re with me”) and didn’t leave until she was sure we were in good hands.

The guys worked on the issue Saturday afternoon and most of Sunday (again... on a holiday weekend!) When we stopped by to check in that day, Bill and Dan even took a moment to offer some local sightseeing tips, going so far as to hand draw a map of the points of interest.

With the problem resolved, we were on our way on Monday morning, confident in the repair but most importantly confident that there are still good people doing good work in this world.

Thank you, Backstreet Cycle family!

Excellent People that will help you and support your ride. I showed up in November on a rainy day after nearly 3000 miles riding around the great lakes...on my CB 500...no questions asked...invited me in, let me use their tools and chemicals to adjust my chain and lube it. When asked how much, I heard :Ride Safe Son!!! I felt at home on my little Honda among Harley guys. You got to appreciate it...biker spirit Thank You!!

Good quick service. Keeps my family's motorcycles going. I prefer to do my own work but they've helped me out when I just dont have the tools to do the job. My parents and sister have all their work done there.

Bill Penrose is craftsman who has a wealth of knowledge. I work on auto engines and have sought his advise many times for issues I need help with. He has been there and has the answers. His custom bike builds are total works of art. Great machinist, builder and person.
