I came here for the first time today after driving by a couple times and I’m glad I did. Such a cute bookstore with tons of books ranging in price from their $1 section to more expensive items. They have a small area by the children’s section where kids can sit and play which I thought was really nice. The woman at the register (I wish I got her name!) was super sweet, she explained their trade in system, and answered any questions we had. Definitely stop by if you’re in the area!

Fantastic used and vintage bookstore! Huge selection and a very welcoming owner that was willing to have a chat and find out what I was looking for. A must visit if in Sacramento!

Lots of high quality used books here, with a very wide selection in terms of authors and topics.

Of course there are some new copies of books mixed in, but the prices for new and used books are very good and reasonable.

I've been loving this place since my youth, and thrilled to see a locally owned bookstore still going strong! Wide selection of books to chose from, and if they don't have what you're looking for they will order it for a very reasonable price. Great staff too! I hope that they are around forever :)

Very organized, really fun to browse, prices are great. The staff are very sweet and knowledgable. Appreciate that they require masks because the aisles are pretty narrow and the book buyback policy is really cool! Fantastic bookstore!

Excellent little bookstore! They have such a fun selection and everyone there was helpful and very kind. I especially loved their children's books!

This bookstore made my visit to Sacramento worth it, honestly. I bought an edition of a literary magazine I had never heard of before, ‘The Believer’ - as well as a small guide of movie reviews by Roger Ebert, along with a collection of writing by John Freeman. The place is full of niche and weird delights, you also get the feeling you’ve stepped into a time machine of sorts. Had a great chat with the person working there, hopefully I can make it back one day!

Came here to find a new bookstore. I had some books I needed to unload. Ashley from TTB was amazing. She was super kind and helpful. It was a joy talking to her and it made me feel so welcomed. I will def be coming back.

This place is a bookworm's gem.

Great little used book shop located in the center of Midtown Sacramento. The staff are quite helpful. If they don't have something you are looking for, they try to see if they can find it online for you. It's kind of a dangerous place to shop if you have no clue what you are looking for, one time I thought hum I have a couple minutes, I'll just pop in for 5 minutes. Only 5 minutes. An hour later I have a stack of books in my arms that my brain tells me I absolutely have to have. 5 minutes=1 hour. It's Time Tested math, kind of like Target math...lol.

Cool older male owner. Chill environment. Books to the ceiling. Organized. Been in the business for 30 plus years. Could feel his love for the book.

On your way home from the Saturday farmer's market, be sure to swing by the Time Tested Books bookstore. It's got a real local feel to it, with books organized by genre and stuffed to the ceiling. It's an impressive collection of old and new works. You can sit and read for a while or go my route and just wander endlessly. The prices are quite reasonable, cheap even, and it's nice to support a local bookstore rather than a big chain. They also have a buy-back program, so you can take a chance on a lightly-used book and return it for store credit if you decide it's not destined for a permanent home on your own shelves. 10/10 would recommend.

I love this place. It's a small used and rare bookstore. They have an impressive selection of rare books. They feature many first editions, including signed editions. I love the sure amount of old leather books. They also have a large selection of popular authors of all genres. Great books on history and different regions of the world. As if that's not enough, they also have a rather impressive selection of kids books.

Stopped by while visiting the city. So fun to walk around, and they had great quality Tolkein including a first US edition Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales. Prices were amazing and the staff was wonderful to have a conversation with

Very knowledgeable sales person helped me find all the books I was looking for. They are still requiring masks and Have some available for anybody who doesn't have one.

Quiet used book store, I stopped in for some artistic inspiration and left with $100 in used books. Great place, will return!

Wonderful bookstore! I love supporting local businesses, and this place is a great example of why. It is a comfortable place that book lovers can get lost in for hours.

It is a happy place. Intimate and well organized. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. The trade in policy ensures a good amount turnover and diversity in titles. Amazon is convenient but you will miss the satisfaction of a cozy spot and contributing to a local business.
