Lefty's Bar & Grill

I was checking out the town of Ketchum Sunday 7/9/2023 and wanting to sample the local fares, I happened upon Lefty’s. I am so glad that I did! It’s a quaint little joint at the foot of a ski slope, and it was quite busy which I read as a good sign. Although I had to stand in line waiting to order, the staff was doing their best to move things along. I noticed that the special was elk burgers, and when it was my turn to order, that’s what I chose. As a side I chose the “monkeys” which are spiced potato slices, like a waffle fry. I also chose bleu cheese for the burger which was the best choice I could have made. The order was ready in a short time, impressive considering the volume of food the cook was dealing with. The burger was absolutely delicious, the bleu cheese combined with fresh elk, made for an incredible savory experience, no condiments were needed and the burger was done to the best possible consistency combining flavors and retaining the natural juiciness yet not being over or undercooked. The burger’s bun was fresh, light, and wonderful. The monkeys were also spot on, not greasy, not dry, and spiced just right. I won’t pass through Ketchum again without stopping in and I look forward to my next visit. My apologies for the food pic, it does not portray the burger as well as it should have. I will fix that on my next visit!

This is a pretty cool place to stop and eat. It’s a bar and grill, so you can expect to grab your favorite drink, play some darts, pool, or an arcade and then grab a wonderful hamburger. They have salads as well. You might call it a dive bar/grill. The outside seating was super ideal. Ketchum has fantastic evening weather, often. The patio was large and had a lot of options. The burger I had tasted amazing. The bun is homemade. Make sure to get the monkey fries. Sliced potatoes with a blend of spices. Just perfect. Nothing fancy here, just casual. I’d eat here again.

If you are hungry and want a beer and looking for no frills, this is the place to go. I had never been to Ketchum before and was exploring the area on foot and found this place on Google maps. I got there at opening and ordered Lefty’s Club with monkey fries (seasoned fries) and a Stella. It was just what I needed. I then realized that the place was super popular; a stream of people developed for over an hour for their lunch rush.

Better not skip this joint if you find yourself in Ketchum - we popped in the other week on our way to Twin Falls and haven’t found better food or draft prices this good on the road in years. My wife had a chicken sandwich and I had a blue cheese burger, both smashed expectations. The guy at the register (jimmy?) recommended “Monkey Fries” which didn’t miss. We come through town a couple times a year and can’t believe we’ve blown past here every time…never again!

Tried the elk burger (which was on the special) and was not disappointed! The burger was a pretty good sized patty and the veggies on it were fresh. The bread was delicious as well and I really enjoyed the monkey fries dipped in homemade fry sauce. Pair it with a beer and it makes it and even better experience. The service was great as well, and speedy too for how busy they were! Would go back 100%.

Great local spot with friendly service, good beer, hot French fries and a delicious smelling burger that I'll have to order next time when I'm hungry.

Laid back bar with tasty food! Outstanding cheeseburgers !! Good music and a friendly local crowd!

Lefty's was our favorite restaurant in all of Ketchum. An outstanding beer selection and really the best buffalo wings I've ever had. Their deck has a laid back vibe, with locals and their pooches milling about. A great place to stop after a long ride or run, but really I didn't need a reason to stop by. Looking forward to our next sun valley trip

The chicken burger with cheese and jalapeños, soo good. They have great bread on their burgers and the onion rings, perfect for a crunchy splurge. Nice mountain view patio and casual staff. One of our favorite after hike or ski lunch spots

Went in with my kid a few days ago, after not going in for a couple decades, and it was so good! It tasted just like Lefty's! My kid goes often, just for the wings.

The food and service was great. Pool table and booths for a great night.

Definitely a local dive but food was super yummy and the staff were vert friendly

Great little hang out restaurant where you can relax, visit with friends and family, drink, and eat a damn good Burger. 👍 will be coming back

Awesome location, killer ski or mountain town bar vibes. Good deals on beer and food, they've got the big sports games playing but there's enough space it's just a great place to hang out inside or out.

Love to hit this place when I stay in town. Cold beer, good food, get some wings, and monkey fries! It does get busy, so be prepared to wait or adjust your schedule accordingly.

A couple of pointers about this place:
1) it's open till late compared to other places and also serves food till 10pm
2) The young lady who works here was super friendly and nice. We arrived late but she still kept the kitchen open for us
3) The service was also quick and efficient
4) Monkey fries are a must try at this place.

Sweet joint with $5 22oz beers and bar food. Just had local tap brew but food looked tasty and they have fry sauce!

This was my favorite bar in Idaho. Very good sandwiches as well and the beer was affordable. Especially for the area. If you're in town, stopping here is mandatory (my rules).
