I have had the pleasure of dining at Angler Fish Market & Chowder on multiple occasions, and each experience has been nothing short of delightful. It's become my go-to destination for seafood in the city. Their Wednesday special of $1 raw oysters is an unmissable deal, though it's sad to note that the $1 shrimp cocktail is no longer on the menu. However, even at its regular price of $24 a dozen, their shrimp cocktail remains a compelling offering. The shrimp are exquisitely prepared—crunchy yet chewy, offering that ideal textural balance seafood aficionados yearn for.

But let's not forget the Lobster Alfredo—a masterclass in moderation. The light, creamy cheese sauce is beautifully balanced, allowing the flavors to shine without overwhelming the palate. Served with garlic toast for dipping, this dish offers a delightful pause, allowing your taste buds to reset and prepare for the next gastronomic adventure.

The Pesto Shrimp and Scallop with linguine is another standout. The Pesto Genovese sauce serves as a light, creamy backdrop, accentuating the natural flavors of the perfectly cooked scallops and crunchy shrimp. It's a harmonious blend of ingredients that coalesce into a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Lastly, their Fried Calamari with a spicy twist offered a sweet and spicy flavor profile that was interesting, albeit not my personal preference. Next time, I'll opt for the regular version to better suit my taste.

In summary, Angler Fish Market & Chowder is a culinary gem, offering a diverse range of seafood dishes that are consistently well-executed and reasonably priced. It's a place that not only meets expectations but often exceeds them, providing a dining experience that keeps me coming back for more.
Also all servers were so friendly! Will be back soon!

So happy we stumbled upon this gem! They sell fresh seafood at a counter, and have a few tables and a small bar, all centered around the very small open kitchen where everything is cooked fresh to order. We had fresh oysters, $1 on this Wednesday special, a ‘fisher man’s special’ consisting of huge scallops, shrimp, clams and fries, and another special of the day which was a 1.5lb fresh lobster, $31. The two of us who got lobster had Cole slaw and vegetables, both were fresh and homemade, and you could tell and taste the difference. Deserts are HUGE, also homemade.

I give a 4star on atmosphere only because it is a little loud with the kitchen and the small quarters.

If you are around the area and can stop in, this is a don’t miss in Massachusetts!

On the recommendation of friends, I went here for what I thought would be just a dozen $1 oysters and a glass of wine.... well those 1$ oysters turned into 2dozen oysters, seafood chowdah, crab cakes, swordfish w/linguine, wine & Lemon Italian Creme Cake.... the oysters where fresh, briney and sweet, the seafood chowdah was excellent (I am no stranger to chowdahs either) filled with seafood, creamy and a real good balance of flavors. The crab cakes had a real good amount of crab and not loaded with fillers. It was served with chipotle aioli, that was ok, it was just to much on the plate, less aioli next time. The swordfish, to die for... cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth! The linguine was cooked just right. The wine came in 2 sizes, 6oz & 9oz, go for the larger size, more wine for your $. The dessert, very good! It is a good stocked small bar area with a TV overhead. The space is interesting, long as opposed to wide. Beth, our server, was great! Friendly, engaging, helpful with the menu and I notice her great attitude toward everyone in the restaurant. This restaurant has a kids menu and is handicap accessible. There was a wait, a busy Wednesday! You can see the chefs cooking as it is an open concept. This is also a fish market, although I did not buy any for take away, it all looked quite fresh. I believe they also have GF items on Sundays. Every Wednesday & Sundays.. $1 oysters.... Yes Please! Highly recommend.

We can't wait to go back! Super fresh food, super nice staff.
It's Nov 6th and we did go back for a family gathering of 7 for a 29th birthday party. As before, food was outstanding, Connor the Superman did everything and did it well (except cook). Hats off to the chefs at this quaint place. Even though it's a 45 min. drive, it'll be our go to gathering place. (Make your reservations early... popular + quaint=booked!)

We ate here last Saturday. I work in a restaurant myself so I notice the small things. Great little seafood spot. Our server, who was also the bartender, was simply fantastic (I feel terrible for not recalling her name). Drinks were tasty (the triple berry mule was soooo good), food was great - I am a chowder “snob” and I highly recommend theirs. Prices were what you would expect for seafood. We will definitely be back soon :)

Not much seating, but the food is awesome. Servers are friendly and knowledgeable. Too many croutons in the Caesar salad. It's great to have a high-quality seafood restaurant here, without having to go to Worcester.

What a great find. After a long hike, in cold weather, having a delicious clam chowder is an amazing experience. The fish and chips seems to be great too. Yes, you have to wear masks to get in but you are fine to take it off after you sit at your table. The ambience is awesome too. Definitely will return in future.

Worth the wait! We only did take out for holidays or family events. Seafood has always been great. This was our 1st time dining in. It was easy getting a table on a Friday night, the staff was so friendly and the salmon and haddock dishes were tasty and so fresh. Throw in some oysters and the best seafood dinner in a long time. We'll be back.

It's been over 10 years since I have had fried seafood due to gluten intolerance. Thank you so much for doing the gluten free Wednesdays! Super good food! Even the glutenophiles loved it! Everything we ordered was delicious, fried or not.

Stopped at the Angler in Westminster,Ma, it was very good. The service was tremendous and the food was wonderful. We had a lobster bisque that had many large chunks of lobster and tasted incredible! All of our sea food was worth every penny! The place is small so you may want to get a reservation. Truly worth going to and enjoying some very good food!!!

The family has been going here for years, and I finally was able to make it in with my boyfriend for our first real dinner date in months. We were absolutely beyond satisfied!! The food was absolutely delicious, came out beautifully presented, and we had a ton of leftovers to bring home! Amber was amazing, the place was quiet and clean, and we can't wait to go back.Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

So we went here on a whim. So glad we did. First off you have to remember that when you go to the grocery store the prices right now are sky high. This hits our restaurants twice as hard So keep that in mind whe looking at prices. Despite this we hit on a dollar oyster day. They were wonderful. I splurged for a lobster and it was done perfectly. Coleslaw was great not excessive mayo like so many places. Fries crispy. The wife got a special sort and turf, tips came exactly as ordered. She was trying to get me to try and apologize but I couldn't stop eating my lobster. Save room if you can cause the deserts are just as wonderful. We got ours to go as it was late and we wanted to let them close. Not that the seemed to mind at all as a matter of fact the owner and my wife spoke a long time and she had no idea I wrote these reviews. Definitely visit. I can only guess that the negative reviews were during the previous owners. This gal has gone through covid with two folks and just recently got in two more. It's a nice small place with a casual atmosphere and a full bar. Great to sit back relax and enjoy.

Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, the wine and beer selection was fantastic and seasonally appropriate. The servers were friendly, patient and knowledgeable. The shrimp cocktail was perfection (and at .50 a piece as an appetizer special was extra fantastic). With an open kitchen design you can practically see your food as it is prepared. The entrees did not miss a single detail and were expertly crafted to allow the beautiful flavors of the fresh seafood shine. It IS on the pricey side, but worth every penny. Can't wait to visit again.

After getting our reservation, we were seated in this small dinner like restaurant. The young server was very professional and our food was served hot. The scallops were simple so you can taste it fresh caught flavors and the maple salmon was the best I ever had. I can't wait until I am hungry again and go back.

We had a delightful, yet casual, mid-afternoon meal. The fried scallops were fresh, and perfectly cooked. The dipping sauces were well prepared. The Gorgonzola salad was tasty. We could see the kitchen area of this cozy restaurant where several highly skilled cooks were busy at work. Our waitress was attentive, but not invasive.
