Rappahannock General Hospital

Today I went for a bone density scan at Rappahannock Hospital in Kilmarnock VA.
Sitting at the reception desk was a young woman, Antoinetta. She was wearing a very pretty Butterfly motif bracelet. I loved it and asked her where she got it.
She told me but I said I didn’t know that source, she then took it off and handed it to me! When I protested, she said no I want you to have it - just pay it forward!!”
What an amazing wonderful experience! Couldn’t help but give a big hug and kiss to this caring fun woman who made my entire week! Photos on my FACEBOOK page!
The entire hospital has been modernized looks wonderful and every person I met was friendly and helpful.

I cut my thumb on a Sunday. Went over to the ER to get it diagnosed. Everyone from the check in staff, the nurses and doctor were so professional. They cleaned my wound and put some stitches in and sent me on my way. They made me feel very comfortable with what they doing. Thank you Dr. Obier and your great staff!

While my visits to this hospital have not been life threatening, both were very positive experiences. The first, a few years ago, I cut my thigh on some oyster shells. The gash was about 6 inches long and because it was so clean the doc stitched as if he was stapling it, saving me probably hundreds of stitches and still with a great result. Last week I went there for a mammogram. The hospital was quite busy, but the staff was friendly and efficient. The equipment was very new and looked to be state of the art. Within a couple of hours, the reading had been sent to my PCP and results uploaded to Healow. Super impressive!!

Took my son here on Sunday 04/02/2023. We had a very pleasant experience. Jessica the head nurse was VERY caring and very good with my child. Everyone we encountered was extremely nice. We didn't wait at all and I feel like they did all the necessary tests to come up with the correct diagnosis. The facility was extremely clean. Highly recommend!

The ER is not a place you really want to visit, but our experience was great thanks to Dr. Nunnally and his team! He and his staff were attentive and kept us informed while we waited.

I honestly felt like I was in an alternate reality. I’ve been in hospitals and ERs since I was 6 and I have never felt so cared for!! They kept my door open and anyone who walked checked on me. They actually cared. They took the time to talk to me without acting rushed. Even the lady from financial aid spent time and was caring and assured me not to worry and she would help me any way she can! Everyone smiled and said I hope you feel better (including housekeeping). They all go above and beyond for their patients. The doctor wasn’t great but fortunately she had a great staff around here that it really didn’t matter and she wasn’t incompetent, just lacked bedside manner (she could have been having a bad day). I was a Riverside patient previously and treated horribly every where but I am now a Bon Secour patient!!!

On 10/13/2019 I had my first ever visit to the ER as a patient. Every single person who attended to my care was kind, considerate, compassionate, efficient and thorough. Being a 'first-timer', I was a bit nervous however the staff and doctor put me at ease in short order. I was completely impressed with their service and will have no hesitation in going there should the need arise. Thanks again to the staff.

Wonderful experience in the ER yesterday morning. The nursing staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable. The physician was prompt and had treatment rolling quickly. Very efficient and caring. First time visiting and would recommend the ER to anyone in need. Happy to have this wonderful ER and staff in our community.

My husband had a colonoscopy done yesterday! The staff was wonderful, kind and helpful! Going out the way to help! You don't get that anymore! Dr. Jawhar was so nice and helpful! Explaining everything and actually listening! Would definitely recommend!

Took my husband here and the doctor was rude and very unprofessional. Took my sister here and had a great experience. Doctor was thorough, friendly, and competent. So it all depends on who is working that night. Maybe hospital needs to check out their personnel to find the best doctors in order to provide best service.

Went there Saturday morning April 29th in severe knee pain. Took me in right away. Dr Clark was great as well as his staff.Barbara,Elaine,& Crystal were superb. Made me as comfortable as possible,listened to my statements & addressed the problem to make me more comfortable until I could see my doctor which they helped with as well. I wouldn't have made it through the immense pain without you all. Thank you!

Went for tachycardia (very fast heart rate 120 bpm) scary episode. They finally got the rate to be normal and helped me get taken seriously by my cardiologist so that I could get a pacemaker. All is well now and changed cardiologist.

The oncology dept.is top notch. Dr. Sweeney is a very caring and professional Dr. We as a community need this in our area.

From the administration to the nurses, technicians and doctor this facility was Outstanding in every way.
