Sweetwater Tavern

I ate here on a Monday night, and I wasn't expecting it to be as crowded as it was. I'm glad I made reservations, since the wait was about 35-40 minutes around 6:20. The parking lot in front of the building was full when I arrived, but there was plenty of parking in the back of the building. Everyone with reservations still had to wait a few minutes for their table, but the entryway never felt crowded. The food and service were great. The rolls are still as good as I remember them being. I ordered the Grilled Chicken & Havarti Cheese sandwich, and the quality of the chicken was very good. It's been years since I ate here, but now I'm excited to return.

Even though it's a chain, Sweetwater is genuinely one of the best restaurants in the DMV suburbs. We have been going for years and it is consistently great every time with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.

Just back from a trip to France I thought lunch at Sweetwater was a good way to ease back into the American restaurant scene. I was right. My bride had a soup and feta salad. I had a salad and a very delicious pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was large and tasty pieces. Exceptional.

We went to dinner at this restaurant, new to me, the atmosphere is very pleasant. The attention of all the staff is polite, friendly and careful. We waited a little to be able to get in... but it was worth it. The taste of the food and desserts is really delicious. Ample parking lot. I’m sure we’ll be back. Although the hamburger that my daughter ordered... was a bit raw... the manager (very attentive and cordial) immediately solved the problem for us. 100% recommended. The whole experience was excellent!

This is one of those places where you can’t go wrong. Every one of the restaurants in the Great American Restaurant group is really good.
Chicken tenders, jambalaya, crab cakes are just a few of the excellent dishes on the menu. The service is always excellent.

Absolutely breathtaking meal at Sweetwater Tavern. I love this place, and I think it gets better every time I go back. 11/10 RECOMMEND!!!!

Food was delicious, as always. Service and atmosphere was wonderful too. Waiter was kind and amenable to some side changes we had requested (trying to stay away from those fries!). Atmosphere great.

Sweetwater has great American fare! My personal favorite is the warm goat cheese salad. I am not a salad person, but I CRAVE this salad. My husband loves their burger. We also always get the southwest rolls. House brewed beer is great! Corn chowder was good as well. Newly added was their peanut butter pie, so rich and yummy! Rich enough to share.

What a great find! In town for business and a fellow coworker suggested Sweetwater based on the beer selection. Food menu items match the beer menu on the same scale, 5 out of 5! Limited by a coworker with a seafood/shelfish allergy for apps that was accommodated with no problems, we found enough appetizers to keep the group happy. Service was quick and accurate. Honestly, can't wait to go back for some seafood apps!

First time at Sweetwater Tavern and it was a great experience!

I had the Wood Grilled Chicken Breast and my friends had the Jumbalaya and Filet Mignon. The atmosphere was fun and the waitress was very welcoming.

First time eating at this establishment, and it definitely won't be my last. The food and the service were great. The Jambalaya pasta and the baby back ribs were good.

This place came highly recommended by some co-workers and they were right about everything. The service was top notch and the food was very well done, seasoned well, and the drinks were some of the best I've had.

Came here on a friend's recommendation. Shout out to Sue. Excellent service at the bar from Kathleen (definitely seek her out). Had a reservation but we came extra early and the place was packed so found a seat at the bar. Ordered 2 of Joe's handcrafted beers that were satisfying. The food came within a few minutes after ordering and the kitchen was hopping as were the runners. Order the wood grilled chicken breast and jambalaya pasta. The chicken was perfection and pasta swapped to mashed potatoes. The jambalaya was great and had just the right amount of kick for me.

I've been here a few times now and enjoyed each visit. The staff are attentive and friendly. I really like the main courses, the roasted half chicken, smoked salmon, and smoked ribs. Each of those are really delicious. Not as big of a fan of the sides, shoestring French fries and the coleslaw, but that's kind of nit picking given how good the mains are. And of course the Ozzie rolls are always a hit. Moderately priced, $20-$40 for the main courses but that is pretty much what you'd expect now.

First time eating here. Great atmosphere! When you enter it seems very tight but its actually spacious. The Food was great. I had the Ribs and they were falling off the bone. The White chocolate pudding was excellent for dessert. The mini roll bread were very addicting. Service was fantastic 👏.

First time to this restaurant, to meet my cousins for dessert and coffee. What a great atmosphere, love the bronze statue out front! This is a go to restaurant for my family as they live in the area. They recommended the key lime pie and the white chocolate bread pudding, both were fabulous!! SO good!! I definitely plan to go back there next time I'm in town and take my husband!! Friendly staff and clean dining area. Lively atmosphere and family friendly!

When I travel to Virginia, coming to sweetwater is a must. The western atmosphere is perfect and the staff are always warm and welcoming. Everything on the menu tastes great and traditional prime rib is the best I've had so far!

Really nice food and atmosphere. Service was a little slow, but we were on the "outside" so it makes sense they'd have a time getting out to us. Everything was cooked right and the flavors were great

I booked an accommodation here for a group of 8 for my grandmothers birthday. Since the seating arrangements are mostly booths, I was notified our party may be split but luckily we ended up in booths adjacent to each other. I arrived after my party ordered. The food was good, definitely consistent with the Great American Restaurant brand. The host and waitstaff were friendly. I ordered the market fish, which was grouper served over cheesy polenta and topped with arugula. Super fresh, great flavor, just wish there was a little more to the meal. Would definitely recommend this place for a group, as there are options for everybody. Everyone seemed happy with what they ordered.

Consistently great food and excellent service. Value is here if you want a fancier meal!

Ozzie rolls ($1), as you may already know, are amazing. The southwest egg rolls ($11) here were fresh & tasty, making it tempting to order another. The bacon burger ($18) was delicious and cooked perfectly to order (medium) with a nice pinkness throughout the patty, awesome!!

The only thing that could have been better was the beer selection, but I understand they rotate so it varies.

I recommend grabbing a reservation for anytime you go since this place is popular. Solid choice for date night!
