The Camp Store at Nicolet Beach

I have frequented this little store for over 60 years. Despite limited inventory and cramped quarters, most of what one needs while camping in the park is available. Employees are very friendly and helpful.

Great prices - cheaper in many cases than in town. People complaining about the prices forget a few things: the very small store is NOT run or subsidized by the park (the smaller the square footage of a store the higher the “rent” an item has to pay to even be on the shelf); all stock has to come into the park via the same small, traffic clogged highway from Green Bay that you do to get here (and is why EVERYTHING is at least a little more expensive in Door County); prices could be a lot higher - they have a “captive” clientele and many people would still buy their things there instead of going all the way into town; and finally, the owner has only five months to make an annual income and pay their staff.

I for one have been pleasantly surprised by the incredible variety of values I’ve found there. And to respond to a couple other recent comments - whose fault is it really if food is over cooked and they don’t take it back to the counter and ask for another? Take some personal responsibility, the staff is REALLY busy. I do, however agree about the sign and the way the woman spoke to you. Both need improvement. Really, $35 for a new sweater at the souvenir clothing store? Sounds like a deal - it’s been a bit chillier than I expected and I’m going to go snap one up.

Super great prices on everything. The inflatable tubes were only $6. The staff was also incredibly nice and helpful. Highly recommend them for your camping needs at peninsula state park!

The camp store has reasonably priced items for what you may have forgot. However on one of the hottest days if the year they had no ice totally understand though for where they are located and no one would have enough ice on that day.

Very nice, clean store with an impressive selection and prices. Jake and his friendly staff make this one of the best camp stores we've shopped in... and we've been all over the country.

They literally have everything, and the prices aren't bad. Staff is always friendly.

Great stuff and good snacks and refreshments available.. small place to sit inside and enjoy as well.

Friendly helpful people. Area is kept as clean as possible despite the fact that so many things are run down. The little umbrella tables next to the store or the only place you can get spotty Wi-Fi.
