We thoroughly enjoyed the fish boil we made reservations for! Our dinner time was later in the evening so we were able to watch the sunset over the water. Loved that the experience and patio was dog friendly and our dog laid quietly at our feet the entire time after being so tired from the day. Fish master was excellent at explaining the history of the fish boil, and sitting around a fire with other locals and travelers was such a good time! The food tasted amazing and I liked that they offered a choice of chicken or ribs rather than fish just in case you wanted to participate in the boil but can’t eat or don’t like fish, especially for large families that I noticed chose some of the other options and were still able to then all eat together and do the boil! Fish was definitely amazing though! A must do experience in door county!

You absolutely MUST go here!!!! The fish boils here are done by the same person every day of the week and he still does the boils today just like it was done decades ago. He tells a great history of the boils during the show and explains everything. You then go in to eat your meal and are served an amazing dinner. The server will even debone the fish for you right at your table. After your meal you’ll be treated to an amazing Door County cherry pie!!!

Forget all the other knock offs in the area and go straight to the Old Post Office!! Make sure to call ahead for reservations!

Excellent Door County Fish Boil. Entertaining presentation of cooking process around the steaming, boiling kettle. Delicious whitefish deboned by the waiter at your table. Served with slaw, sweet breads, boiled potatoes and onion. Cherry pie included for dessert ($3 extra for the ice cream on top). Nice outside tables facing Lake Michigan.

We enjoyed the Fish Boil on Friday night, and we had a great time. The boil master was entertaining and we thought the whole experience was educational and a lot of fun! The view of the water from our table was beautiful and we were able to enjoy the sunset while we ate. The service was friendly and very attentive. Overall we had a great time and highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to enjoy a traditional Scandinavian fish boil. We will definitely be back for brunch next time we are in the area.

A nice experience from beginning to end. We enjoyed sitting around the fire, listening to the boil master's explanation of the process while watching him do it. I wasn't sure what to expect from the flavor and found it was delicious. The meal was incredibly filling. Finishing with cherry pie was nice. We also enjoyed the bay view from our outdoor table during sunset . I'd go back again.

Call and make a reservation a day in advance! Dress for a windy porch evening just in case. Perfect romantic spot. Only restaurant that offers to debone your fish, comes with slaw, potatoes, onion, bread and cherry pie! So delicious!

It's probably the best breakfast area around Door Co.. We sat outside so there were a lot of bees.

Best fish boil in Door County! Only one where they debone the whitefish at the table for you. Great service, and a great sunset while we ate outside. 5 out of 5

We had breakfast one morning, and the fish boil the next evening. Both get five stars. The egg scramble and eggs over medium were as fresh as I can recall eggs ever being. The hash browns were terrific as well, being baked and grated on site. The fish boil was educational and entertaining, and more importantly, delicious. Imagine serving 120 people a hot dinner in about 10 minutes - they have their process down pat. The dinner was more than ample - fish, potatoes, onion, breads, slaw, and cherry pie. Ice cream required a surcharge but is recommended. Very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality. The fish is caught same day or the day prior, so it is fresh. The owner is very sweet and knows how to run a busy restaurant even during these times when every restaurant is short on staff. Call ahead for the fish boil - it books up well in advance.

Had 5pm reservations and showed up at 4:30 as directed. Check-in was easy. Grabbed a seat by by the fire pit to see the show. Great information provided by the boilmaster and enjoyed learning the history of Door County and the fish boil. Sat outside for dinner across the street from the water—perfect view. Thought the food portions were generous with the whitefish pieces (be forewarned: even if you ask to have it de-boned you will still find bones). Tip: pour LOTS of melted butter over the fish! The coleslaw and the breads were excellent—I think I liked that better than the fish. Ending with cherry pie was perfect. A great Door County experience!

The fish boil was fantastic. Our phenomenal fish boil chef (I forget what his official title is but that's what I'm calling him) was very engaging and very passionate about his heritage and home. The fish was fresh caught, and super delicious. We definitely loved the experience. It came to I believe 25$ or so a plate, and came with dessert. Our server was great and offered to take the bones out for us.

Great experience for a Dorr County fish boil. Staff very courteous and attentive.

Food excellent! Some were concerned about bones in the fish but the staff expertly deboned the whitefish steaks.

The boil show is photo worthy. Arrive early for bench seats but standing is fine.

Plenty of parking across the street. Limited parking behind restaurant.

For large parties, bill will not be split and 18% added on automatically. Not unusual but a surprise for our multi family group of 20.

Fun time!

The presentation before dinner around the fire is the best part. Entertaining and informative. Get drinks at the outdoor bar before going inside. Once you’re inside they serve pre-plated (FRESH boiled fish) entrees so there’s not really a vibe. There is not a service aspect, just someone dropping off a plate. Kinda get in and get out situation. The fish is delicious tho! We had a great time as a kind of kitschy experience. I think it was around $25/person.

Had a great time at the fish boil in early June. Appreciated the heaters on the outdoor deck where we ate. The boil over was done so well. The boil master is entertaining and informative. Our server was absolutely excellent. The view over the water is very lovely.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This was one of my favorite things that we did when we came to door county. We came a half hour early as suggested when I made a reservation and I wasn’t disappointed. The boil master was great, he told us all about the history of the fish boils in door county all while putting on a good show for us with the fire from the boil. We were seated at the best table in the house, on the front porch with a beautiful view of the lake. Our sever was wonderful, she deboned our fish for us and got us our drinks quickly. And to top it all off, the food was absolutely amazing. This was the best fish I have ever eaten. If you are looking for a fish boil in door county, look no further. This place was a great treat and a perfect ending for our door county trip.

While visiting Door County in July 2021, we definitely wanted to have a fish boil dinner and we selected this place. We arrived early to view the process of boiling the fish with potatoes and onions in the open field behind the restaurant. It was a memorable thing to watch. We were then told to go to our pre-assigned table and ours was on the front porch with a view of the Green Bay across the street with a beautiful sunset in progress. The people were extremely friendly in the whole dinner experience was definitely memorable. I highly recommend this place for your fish boil experience.

Have been here for breakfast and dinner and the food is simply... amazing. Have been numerous times and each time the experience is just as good as the last. Service and presentation is also phenomenal. The actual ‘fish boil’ is cool to watch. Make sure you arrive early to see it. Also, be sure to have reservations a day or two in advanced as the seatings tend to book quickly. Overall, 10/10.

Excellent fish boil! I usually only like a fish boil once a year, I could eat this one every day! The white fish was delicious. And the wait staff removed most of the bones. The whole meal was great. And cherry pie for dessert! The "show" was fun. Nice to hear the history of the fish boil and the boil over is amazing.
