Horton Vineyards

Both staff members spent a lot of time with us and helped us find great wines to take home. Enjoyed the experience and the conversation! And the wines, especially the port varieties, were great. To the reviewers who poo-pooed the plastic cups - get over yourselves. They offered us a glass for the tasting and you could have done that. We did. Will be back.

Since moving to Virginia, our goal has been to hit all vineyards on the Monticello Wine Trail. We’re almost at the halfway mark and already consider Horton to be near the top!

Our wine host was an absolute delight and knew her trade. She took our feedback and made perfect selections for our flights. The wine is poured into small plastic cups, but you are given wine glasses for the actual sampling. It was also a treat to meet the wine maker. We are excited for the next batch of Bone Orchard!

Oh boy... I got a sweet red and a dry red and they were amazing. Great place with a breathtaking sunset view. Customer service was very helpful in answering questions. I strongly recommend.

I have been to this winery several times over the years. It is now 100 percent Woman-Owned and this is truly phenomenal in a male dominated industry. People do not realize what it takes to run a business. I love they cater to all palates. I often have family and friends visit and some require sweeter wines. As we educate our love ones on how to drink wine, we must be fair in knowing that people are creatures of habit. It is refreshing knowing that Horton Vineyards provides a great Virginia experience in wines! I prefer thwir Petit Verdot. It should not go unnoticed that their wonemaker is also the winemaker! Kudos for being pioneers and leaders in the industry!

Such an interesting winery and such great tastings. We chose individual flights - which Horton changes and themes routinely - and brought home several favorites. The grounds include plenty of picnic spaces and beautiful views.

Been to several wineries in the area and this one stuck out. Good wine & very nice grounds. Not sure if they usually do it, but they even had complimentary chili, clam chowder, and crackers during our tasting.

Where to begin. The ladies are amazing. The wine is fantastic. I live out of state but I make sure I come here once a year.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff with a wide selection of wines. From vine to bottle, this family owned winery controls the entire process. Pack your snacks and enjoy good wine.

We booked the lawn for my brother's memorial celebration. The staff was incredible (looking at you M(N)icky) and provided tables and chairs. The weather was amazing and the view is breathtaking.
We had a few folks do a tasting afterward and they all had good things to say. I ended up with a bottle but haven't cracked into it yet. Perhaps tonight, lol!
I couldn't recommend this place more. The next event I have, hopefully a happy one, will be here for sure!!

Absolutely beautiful! The vineyards are lush and makes you want to just walk through it. The main building is beautiful and looks like a castle. The tasting room is like walking into a like piece of heaven. The wines dry and sweet, red and white are AMAZING. Their fruit wines are incredible. Definitely worth every cent. Not gonna lie I'm coming home with 8 glories bottles of wine.

A very nice place with a huge variety of wines. While we like several of there reds. Their fruit wines are what bring us all the way here. We walked out with over a case.

Very intriguing place from the outside that made us stop. You can each taste five wines for only about $6 per person. They were all really good that were tried. There’s also a little gift shop you can buy cool things. Employee was very knowledgeable on their wine. Very budget friendly winery.

What a beautiful winery! Scenery was wonderful, and you can even stroll down the aisles of the grape vines! Very affordable tastings and they give you quite a bit of each. Eclipse White was my personal favorite. Would definitely come here again.

We just did a virtual wine tasting with this winery and we could not be more pleased. The wine was delivered in about 2 days to PA, and we were so excited to taste the unique wines. The wine expert, Shannon, was absolutely frantic. She described exactly the quality and content 0f the wines and every one of us could follow along with her descriptions. These wines are not typical, as they are unique blends of grapes and the products of different styles of aging. The flavors and fullness are pleasing to both white and red preferences. We were absolutely thrilled with this experience and hope to make a trip in person soon!

Oh my gosh I had the best time!!! The people are super friendly & down to earth. They answer any & all questions you may have. The event my husband & I went to was the Chocolate & Wine Tasting. It was FABULOUS!! The wines were matched with specially made chocolates. This event is held every February. This was their 3rd year having it. We did more wine tasting downstairs. You get to choose 10 different wines for $6.50 per person! They are very knowledgeable about their wines & such pleasant people. Can't wait to do it next year!

The staff are so personable. The tasting was done with many descriptions and stories about the different wines. The fruit wines are extraordinary. I'm not normally a fruit wine drinker, but their raspberry, cranberry, and pomegranate are fantastic. I have never purchased a fruit wine before the day I went to Horton Vineyards. I was so delighted with them, that I bought two different ones.

This wine tasting was fun and laid back. Drinking Eden was a great way to end my evening yesterday.

We loved our experience here! We showed up 10 minutes before closing, because we are from out of town and really wanted to visit the vineyards, but the staff cannot have been more welcoming! The wines were very good, and the setting was absolutely picturesque. We were able to taste 10 of the wines, each, and we even went home with a bottle of a delicious red. They also have amazing chocolate! Make sure you try them! They had a food truck out front that would have been perfect if it wasn't closing time!
