We had tried the fish spread several times and finally stopped in for lunch. They offer a variety of smoked fish and hamburgers. We chose the mullet and mahi. We also ordered the fish spread and Manhattan clam chowder. Everything came out in a timely manner and tasted very good. The prices are reasonable, but it is cash only. They also have a take-out stand for their famous fish spread. The place fills up quickly, so I recommend arriving early.

We were in town for a short visit so we decided to pay Ted Peters a visit cause of the rich history and the potato salad 😜 and we were not disappointed. We were met with great service and were served great food. Definitely a stop when we are on the west coast!!

Still the venerable institution it's always been. It's a small menu, but no one does smoked fish better. If you've never tried smoked mullet, this is unquestionably the place to go. The key lime pie is outstanding too. The dining experience here is as "old school" as it gets, but that's part of the charm.

I only swung thru to try their smoked fish dip, which was very good. Grabbed it to go, but it's an old-school open-air establishment that's been around over half a century (70 years).
They were featured on an episode of Guy Fieri's Diners, drive-ins, and dives showing how they've perfected smoking fish in the unique smokers and smokehouse. Can't wait to go back and try their entrees.

Ted Peters is our go to place for fresh delicious smoked fish when visiting from out of town. We are originally Florida natives, so this is our old stomping grounds. It has kept the same quality, service and great taste throughout the years. Highly recommend-you will not be disappointed. Try it and it will become one of your must haves too!

Finally, trying out the famous smoked fish that had been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It was delicious - no other words to describe it! 🐟 🎏 #mullet #salmon #mackerel

What an awesome spot to have lunch or pick up on the way to or from the beach. You know it’s great if it’s been there 70+ years. Don’t miss this incredible institution!

If you could brick and mortar the phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" that would be this place. Truly a time capsule of a comforting, old school taste. The smoked salmon was wonderful and the potato salad was a nice compliment to everything. Check out this historical fish house if you're looking for a homey, classic taste.

This place is iconic! When I came down to St. Pete many years ago to check the place out the very first time, someone recommended this place. We’ve been loyal patrons since! The smoke fish made on site is so tasty and delicious! The sides go beyond any expectations: the German potatoes salad to die for! Even in summer days, we love to sit outside with the gentle breeze coming from the gulf. This place has been in business since the 50’s and still has that authentic look and feel! And more than anything, it has never compromised on quality! We love it!

While driving by with windows open, the enticing aroma compelled us to make a u-turn and visit Ted's smoked fish store. The delightful scent filled the store. We were invited to watch the preparation of smoked salmon, mahi-mahi, mullet and mackerel. The flavors were exceptional, we especially enjoyed the smoked salmon.

highly recommend to stop by either the store or the restaurant.

Truly a Florida gem and I'm so happy it's in our city. 💕 Love this place every time and love bringing out-of-towners here. Picked up a smoked mullet late Saturday afternoon and made my own dip at home. So tasty 😋🤤 and love what they do.

A historic smoked fish purveyor in St. Pete for over 70 years, the exquisite flavor of fish smoked and cooked for 4-6 hours is provided by the red oak wood native to Florida. Do not miss out on this tempting and gratifying food treasure.

Picnic table seating indoors and out lend a country style old timey vibe. 4 variety of fish to choose from include mullet, mackeral, salmon and mahi mahi. Cash Only!! Cash Only!! So put those cards away.

The fish they serve is distictive and delectable. I literally spend my meal groaning with delight as I pick every morsel of fish off the skin. The sides are german potato salad and a fresh and crisp cole slaw. Both pair tastefully with the fish.

Ate here on vacation several years ago and realized I never reviewed it. If you are visiting Clearwater it is worth the drive down. This place is what you think of when you think of a local restaurant in Florida. Smoked mullet was recommended so went with that and glad I did, it was great. Had the Manhattan clam chowder and it was even better, probably the best chowder I've ever had (I still think about it). But perhaps the best thing I ordered was the root beer - DAMN was it good. Definitely will be back anytime I'm within 50 miles.

I've lived in St Pete for 50 years and have never visited Ted Peters. Today I was sorry that I've been missing out.
The smoked mullet was fantastic and also had the mullet fish spread. I highly recommend those two items from the menu.
My server was a super nice lady, wish I knew her name. She recommended their burgers also so I'll get that next time. She was super informative and knew the history of the restaurant. Also very pretty. I will come back to Ted Peters.

If I could give 100 stars I would. I was raised in St. Pete but moved away about 8 years ago. Every time I come visit I always go to Ted Peters. The fish spread is to die for and so delicious and fresh. The smell of smoked fish when you walk up is amazing. Service is always great. Wish I could have fish spread shipped to me it’s that good!!

Their food is consistently exceptional and fresh. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Always a satisfying meal when we eat here. Love the coleslaw and potato salad! Highly recommend starting with the smoked fish spread! One dinner is so big, two people can share it and have some left to bring home. The cold beer in a frosty mug is the icing in the cake!

“My family and I always stop by and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food is always good and delicious, and the best part besides the unique smoke fish is having a cold mug beer under this Florida’s weather :-). Enjoy it remember to bring cash and tip well as all servers are just amazing!
