Just great! I had the patty melt with tots and a salad. So good!! The atmosphere is exactly what u would want from and "old school" diner. They even had Price Is Right circa 1977 on the tv. And extra bonus, free ice cream!! Skip the chain restaurants and head on over.

The server seemed new and wasnt on top of his game. He forgot to bring me a portion of my food then he couldn't remove it from the bill. We had to wait 10 min at least for the chief to remove it.
The peanutbutter chip pancake was huge and awesome. The people I was there with all loved their food, just not the server.

Fantastic downhome Southern food. This place is a local legend in Duluth and even in Atlanta. Delicious chicken and dumplings and meatloaf. Tasty veggie sides which were not overcooked or greasy.

This funky cafeteria (co-located with a drug store) was the power breakfast meeting room for local politicians for decades, and it was as real as real can be. As Duluth repositioned itself into the 21st century, so too (eventually) did the Rexall Grill. But updated technology (and a new level of cleanliness) has not really spoiled it. It has maintained its unique character without (quite) becoming a cartoon version of itself, as is true of downtown Duluth itself.

Their grits are the gold standard.

I certainly enjoyed the food here! Service was a bit slow but the food was delicious! I had the roast pork with collard greens and squash.

My husband and I absolutely love Rexall. We always have a great experience with food and our servers! I personally love their chicken salad sandwich and we both love the chocolate cake for dessert. Highly recommend!

One sweet surprise after another! Pulled into the parking lot disappointed to see it looked to be closed. Pushed the door open, turned the corner to find Rexalls beautifully appointed classic diner filled with mid century coca cola collectibles. Chicken and waffles - perfection. Best chili dogs otp. Open 54 years. Loveliest senior waitress warmed our hearts. Looking forward to making it a regular!

Charming old school diner. The menu has great comfort food options. My favorite was breakfast loaded hash browns, eggs, and bacon. Service was a little slow but everyone did come in at once. Love the old school crowd and decor. Foods definitely great. I will be back to try other homemade comfort foods.

Great breakfast Ata real dinner. I moved from this area 19 years ago and found it was still there, so I decided to try it, the food was just as good as 20+ years ago and the dinner had not changed at all. Friendly employees and great historical memorablia brought back some great memories!

I have been frequenting this establishment for the better part of 25 years and while it has changed ownership in that time, it is still as good as ever. If you're looking for an old-school diner experience with great service and good comfort food, you cannot go wrong with Rexall Grill.

Didn’t have time to take a picture of the food because it was amazing! I came in around 2am and Valeria, my server, was extremely welcoming and attentive for all your needs and definitely made the best chocolate chip pancakes I’ve ever ate

This place has a very special place in my heart. I grew up in Duluth, and this used to be one of only about 10 places to eat in the entire town. Once upon a time owned by Leonard Anglin, this was just another Rexall drug store in the 1970s. At some point, they put in a small cafe on the eastern side of the building, and so anybody who was anybody, could be met at some point during the week before work, eating breakfast at "The Grill" as we called it back in the 70s. You could walk in, fill a prescription at the prescription window, and simultaneously wave over to your friend(s) who were eating, and maybe go over and join them for a bite when you were finished. This place was about as integral to the Duluth small-town culture as you could get. Eating there was to have your finger on the pulse of Duluth culture, with the people who made Duluth what it was.
At some point, chain resturants came along, and at some point, a wall was erected between the pharmacy and the Grill. The Rexall pharmacy has long-since been closed, but "The Grill" still operates. It looks very different now inside, but it has evolved from it's beginnings. It's quiet, the tables are different, and there are more decorations (e.g. Cocacola bottles and pieces of nostalgiac Americana). Even so, the menu seems to still be the same as what it was back then, and the lady who served me (Gale) is one of the same ladies who used to serve my father back in the early 1980s. If you want to eat at the most legitimate Duluth resturant in existence, then you've got to stop by the Duluth Rexall Grill. It's delicious simplicity at it's finest.

The chicken and dressing was delicious as was the squash casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy. Have since tried their country fried steak, broccoli casserole, chili hotdog, chili, and coconut cake. Everything is delicious, large portions, and friendly servers!!

We just recently started going to Rexall Grill for breakfast. It is now one of our go to places for breakfast! The biscuits are amazing and taste just like my grandma used to make them. The portion sizes are just enough. Their new special with eggs, choice of side, choice of meat, choice of bread and a drink is great! The service is ok and the food comes out at a decent time. Can’t wait to go back!
