All the reviews are true about the freshness. It's an authentic Japanese owner operated small restaurant. You do get what you paid for. Great to have a real option in Duluth than having to drive out to Norcross/Peachtree Corner for my regular sushi place.

A traditional family-run restaurant, very authentic Japanese cuisine, reservation only. Super fresh sashimi. Very friendly and welcoming service but expect a longer wait in weekends.

Such a hidden gem in Atlanta! The fishes are incredibly fresh, and the service is attentive. The wait time can be slightly longer (but reasonable) due to the entire restaurant being operated by a lovely old Japanese couple from Tokyo, but the food really make it worth it.

Delicious, authentic Japanese food! The fish was fresh and everything else was so good. They are a little slow because it's a husband and wide team, but well worth the wait.

This is not your typical cheap sushi, so they won't have a lot of rolls with tempura or mayo smeared all over.

If you're looking for authentic Japanese food, Tokyo Shokudo is the place to go! I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the quality of the food. The hamachi kama was a standout dish for me and had a unique flavor that I couldn't find anywhere else.

AMAZING fish. Those nigiris took me places. Reservation only, not crowded. There are only 2 people working so don't expect fast service. But the woman is very kind and nice, she does her best to do all the jobs at once.
We got the matsu dinner, miso soup, chicken skewers and various nigiris. I cannot fault the food at all, if you're serious about sushi/Japanese food this is the place. Just sit down and have a slow, amazing meal.

Such a cute and super tasty Japanese family style diner! Very homy vibe with authentic food. Their Tuna in Chirashi is the freshest I’ve ever have.

Surprisingly fresh, delicious, and great value. Chutoro, Uni, Anago, and O-toro are MUST try. BUT, be very patience for a slow service as only 2 persons working. Reservations ONLY and closed Mon and Tues (as of 7/7/23) . Hidden gem.

I have traveled far and wide and this is by far the best sushi to have ever landed on my taste buds. I come here every time I am in town, and the sushi chef is always welcoming. The fish is so fresh, the sushi is to die for. One time, they were slammed, so the food took longer than usual. No problem for me, it's worth the wait. But, after our delicious meal, the waitress brought us ice cream on the house and thanked us for our patience. Very considerate hosts, and the food is oh so good. Reasonably priced, too! Every time I have a friend looking for a place to eat, this is the first place I take them. I wish I could give this wonderful joint more than 5 stars!

This is definitely one of the best sushi place around town. We tried it on a Sunday night. It is owned by an older Japanese couple. The wife is very polite. She recommended Chirashi. It was very fresh and the portion is very good for $25. We even love the rice in it since it is special seasoned. We also tried their fatty tuna which melt in your mouth. I talked to the wife and she told us they are from Tokyo. Also one of the reasons that their fish are so fresh is that her husband usually orders a whole blue fin tuna fish from Japan and process it himself to guarantee the freshness of the fish. We will definitely come back again, maybe every week. One thing you have keep in mind is that they are reservation only.

This place has the most authentic Japanese sushi that we have tried in GA. We love the food and the service. We relocated from Osaka, Japan last year and we have tried a lot of the local "spots" trying to find the same quality of that we got abroad. This has become our favorite place we have been to in the greater Atlanta area.

We love getting the Chirashi here. The fish is delicious, fresh, and such a good deal for $25! We love the couple that runs this store as well, the always give excellent service and are very friendly. Highly recommend!!

Since it is just them running it, you have to call ahead and reserve since they need a headcount for how many they can serve. Usually day of is fine in our experience.

I was back in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. I’d you’ve never tried “chirashi-sushi” it’s an absolute must!!!

Very small and authentic Sushi restaurant. Don't expect anything fancy. Most of the dishes are simple traditional Japanese dishes, but they don't disappoint. The staff is incredibly friendly and I find this place to be very cozy and reminiscent of restaurants I've been to in Japan. I suggest getting the Omakase and letting the chef give you the best of what he has to offer. Are there better and fancier sushi spots in and near Atlanta? Yes, but this won't break the bank and the quality is just as good as some of the higher end shops. They just don't have all the fancy add-ons such as truffle oil, caviar, etc... If you speak Japanese, feel free to chat with the chef and some of the japanese wait staff to get that fully authentic feel!

Tokyo Shokudo in Duluth is truly a hidden gem. Fresh and great quality sashimi for a reasonable price even in the pandemic and high inflation era. It’s meant for those who love authentic Japanese foods.

Delicious sushi. They do not have a website and the prices shown online are not accurate. It is a small husband and wife place, with great food and service. Nigiri pieces were larger than most but the perfect size.
