Frostburg Depot - Western Maryland Scenic Railroad

Had an awesome time! Went to Tracks and Yaks on the railcars. Highly recommend to try them out.

We rode the train up and biked down. Beautiful scenery. The entire trip was a lot of fun! The employees are enthusiastic. The bike ride was top notch.. it's a down hill slope, so it's an EASY ride. We would do it again for sure! We rode it with our kids and they loved it all!!

Our church group went together and had a great time! Be prepared, at the Frostburg stop is a big hill to climb to the shops. Lovely place to sit and play games inside at the bottom of the hill though, and an ice cream shop and museum.

Super cool experience! Loved going in the fall to see the leaves all changed in the beautiful views!

We rode the Frostburg Flyer in their beautiful Dome Car! We had panoramic views of the fall foliage, which were stunning! The train went slow enough that you could enjoy the scenery, but not so slow that you felt the ride was dragging on. The drink menu was comprehensive, and the appetizers offered were delicious. It was $150 per ticket for the Dome, but the lower class tickets were much cheaper. Frostburg was somewhat disappointing due to very few shops being open, but there was a wonderful bakery up the hill to the right, and on the right side of the street as you walk up. Hand made cupcakes and cookies, and hoagie sandwiches with drinks and chips were available for purchase, as well as paintings, holiday decorations, and tumblers. Definitely worth a visit if you like sweet treats! Overall, the experience was lovely. I highly recommend this excursion!!

Had a great time, enjoyed the scenery and the history, and hope to go back. I think next time I would like to try the bike excursion and train ride back. I felt a little pressed for time with the rail bike.

This is hard to rate... part of it was closed for the winter, but the other half was open. The owners were super friendly and helpful.

When the teain arrived, we were warned that the Forstburg township was in charge of snow removal, and that was not taken care of... there was an ice film over the snow, and it was a chore to get through.... some of the stores in town were open and the operators were friendly and welcomed us in out of the frigid air...

The Train Depot was nothing of what I imagine. I assumed this little building was a museum for a train station with small board games and snacks to enjoy.
I was completely wrong. This newly found establishment has much more to offer.
Take a nice "bike" panel through the woodsy terrains of Forstburg and so much more on a an abandoned train track.
The nice breeze, wonderful staff and view will be sure to empress you and others.
This place is ideal for friends, family members and a date day.

The carts hold up to 4 people and isn't a strenuous activity. This is one of all ages, sizes and people can enjoy.

I will surely be back. Thank you for the amazing time.

Great time on the Polar Express Train! 😍💓

This place is a fun and unique place to visit. We had a great ride on the rail bikes. The 10 Mile ride is very easy and is a gradual slope for the entire ride. Pedaling the cars is very easy and not strenuous at all. The scenery is great too. We had a great time for sure!

One of the better stops on the GAP while hiking/biking, and the start stop point for the excursion trains. They both share the Brush Tunnel. Borden Tunnel is trail only in opposite direction of the train. Frostburg had anything you may need, shopping/dining and so forth.

We had a lovely outing on the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad today. Even though it was rainy and a bit cold, the views were spectacular, the history interesting and fellow passengers friendly. We hope to plan another excursion soon.

A company called Tracks and Yaks rents rail cars to travel down the rails from here on certain days. Great little adventure that all ages can do to get out for some fresh country air. Small table games are inside to enjoy along with a shop and restrooms.

Rode on Tracks and Yaks. Darien and the guys took us on an awesome tour. We had so much fun!! Will definitely ride again!

This was so much fun!! Hardly any pedaling effort required. Appropriate for the entire family!! Beautiful scenery along the rails. Would definitely go again.

Fantastic train ride! I recommend the open air car. The conductor was great! The views were amazing! Highly recommend!!!
