Right off Roxboro Road in North Durham across from the Harris Teeter is this hidden gem of nature and history. If you’re looking for something outdoors to do with the family, pack them up and head to West Point on the Eno for a solid hike with some great photo opportunities. The trails are easily marked, clean, and offer a good work out as you wind through the park crossing over the river. You may see other hikers who are very polite and also just out there enjoying themselves. If you’re a nature lover, definitely give West Point on Eno a try. You won’t regret it.

This was a very beautiful place. The perfect place to just go clear your head at that. O took a little walk and really enjoyed it. There were a bunch of families enjoying the scene as well. The only thing I did not like was the weed smokers there, I instantly felt sick to my stomach. That day it was about 80 degrees so the smell was super strong. Other than that this is a great place to hang out at and collect your thoughts.

The trails were not too strenuous and were paved nicely. Very beautiful park and mill.

Always a pleasure to walk here anytime of year. Peaceful with a beautiful waterfall. When you're in Durham, come on by.

Loved the Mill and the other historic buildings. You can take a short walk to the dam which is beautiful. Enjoyed our time there.

Even than the water looks dirty haha is a good place to swimming and that reason is because is not deep. There are turtles and fish. The parking is good and you have to walk around 1 km. I went at 4:00 and it wasn’t crowded. Take care with the rocks. It’s pet friendly.

I walked through here and enjoyed the scenery. I miss the previous look, but the trails are nice and challenging for people and dog walkers. You will see dogs and owners in the water playing and having fun. There are poop bags available and all dogs should remain on a leash. There is a map available to see in the parking lot and port a potties to use. The mill is open to see. There is water all around to swim in. Picnic tables and much more to enjoy and see.

Visited on a field trip. Beautiful area. The guides were very nice and educated about the property. My daughter had a great time and even got to make a corn husk doll to take home! I would definitely recommend.

Great park with well-maintained trails. The guided tours on the weekend are an awesome way to learn about the history of the mill and house plus give a chance to see the inside!

Fantastic park with great wide trails by the river to walk through. Large rocks in the river you can sit on. Some people were swimming and there was a small fall. There's a neat swinging bridge. Very nice park!!

Walked the primitive through the woods trail. Great workout. Super views. We’ve had lots of rain so the river is really high.

A beautiful place right outside the city life. Short and long trails for every stage hiker. You can also walk across the waterfall just be careful and cautious. There are plenty of rocks to jump on and water across on the opposite side of the park. They have old buildings including a mill and much more open on Saturdays and sundays 1-5pm. They have port a potties but they were locked today. Also shelters and picnic tables.

Beautiful area for swimming, kayaking, and exploring! We parked and had an easy walk to a dock right on top of the water fall. From there, one mile kayak trip to explore all the little islands in the middle of Eno river. We ended up spending hours exploring and had a blast. One of the highlights of Eno overall.

What a beautiful place to take a hike. It is close enough to Durham to add it to your trip to town for a short walk or stay all day and discover all the cool trails. The Mountain laurel is blooming so make sure you hit that trail along the river. We spotted many native plants, pyeweed, wild ginger along with the laurel so don't forget to look down once in a while. The trail to the dam is fun but can be hazardous for a new hiker!

Great trails and lovely views! We got a little lost trying to find the swim hole, but we just jumped into the water near the dam. There are "steps" where you can get into the water. It's relatively branch, moss and insect free. The water is clean and pretty warm between May and August. Even though the dam is nearby, there's not a strong current and it's completely safe to swim!

My dogs love their walks there. We usually take the trail towards the amphitheater since it's almost always without any foot traffic and take a rest by the creek. My boys like to lay down and cool off there for about an hour before walking again. Beautiful place. If only people can see it like that and will pick up their trash as they leave.

Great park. Able to paddle around if you want! Nice, marked trails. Busy in summer, but Oct-March you may have a trail to yourself. Nice escape just minutes from downtown Durham.

This is our favorite outdoor spot in Durham to hang with the kids. There's a great old working mill (they even have fresh milled corn grits, pre-covid at least).
We keep coming back to West Point. The lower river below the man-made damn (for the grist mill) is a shallow low flow area the kids always love to play in the water and look for animals.
The upper above the damn is a nice swimming hole that gets busy on hot summer days.
The lawn by the river is great as well for picnics, and the trails along the river are beautiful and we'll maintained. We have joined all over the Enjoy and this is Alcott always our starting shoot. It's 15 min from our home so that's partly why I suppose.
I'm always surprised there aren't more people.
There's a great festival every July 4th by the Eno River association that's a not to miss event.
And we even had lots of fun when the river iced over one winter (it happens, but not often... See pics)
