Rockwood Park

Our favorite little park in Durham. The playground is in great shape and there's plenty of shade. The circular walk has some room for improvement, but it's still a perfect place to bring young ones and their wheels.

I wish I’d taken more pictures to be able to post here. They’ve gotten new equipment for the park and we had such a great time! There are fun swings that let two people swing at once, a bigger and smaller playground set, and a teeter totter. The only thing we don’t love is the wood chip covering, but we’ll for sure go back. The trees so provide some shade but we were there on a cloudy day so I can’t attest to how sunny it’d be.

Tucked back in a lil neighborhood, I loved relaxing at this park on a blanket in the shade provided by the beautiful trees.

Nice park to take the kids to. There is a trail and a small creek there.

Really great park tucked behind a neighborhood. Clean and fairly large playground.

Best playground for hot summer days. Large canopy of trees provide lots of shade. Also a nice paved path circles the playground for scooters and bikes. Bathroom available but it is a little rustic. No stall in men's room

Beautiful park on a dead end street in a lovely neighborhood! Huge trees- restrooms- swings and slides for the kids in a separate area. Grills and benches. Covered picnic area with benches and roof toward the back of the park. Very nice!

My grandson had a blast playing on the playground equipment. Lots of families there, it's a great place to visit.

Lots of shade and very quiet! My son loves it 💙

Rockwood is definitely one of the hidden gems of Durham. It's a nice well kept small loop trail with a playground, a few places for a picnic, and a basketball court.

Walked through this park around midnight. Wooded path as well as a lawn area. Totally safe if not slightly creepy. Would walk through again without being murdered.

Cute and and quiet. Occasional litter from nearby neighborhoods, but peaceful. Has a little library near the parking area

Fun park for my toddler. Older kids would enjoy too.

Nice play area, plus grills and a short paved walk/bike path.
