Troost Auto Credit

My girlfriend purchased a 2001 Mercury Cougar from Troost Auto Credit aka Kwik Kar Automotive in March of 2013 paying $500 down and $150 every 2 weeks for 43 payments. This car has a dealer value to the public of $2300. She made 30 payments totaling $5000 before she stopped paying because the car was junk. In the little over a year that she had the car she replaced the starter, the alternator & the battery. Now you can't drive the car because something is wrong with the brakes where they 'lock up' after driving about 2 miles or so..it's like you are riding the brakes all the time. Basically this car has been a piece of crap and it has sat unable to be driven half the time she has had it. They charged her $30 for an air filter when they changed her oil, so she didn't want to take it to them to be repaired because it would be crazy expensive to do so. This is what happens when you buy from a 'Buy Here, Pay Here' dealer. They sell you cars that they get running well enough to sell, then you are stuck. The people working there were very nice to her (wouldn't you be if you were making 3 times what something is worth all day every day?)..and she doesn't like confrontation, so that's why I am writing this. Places like this take advantage of a LOT of people, but sadly many of them are women that just need to be helped out..and end up getting jacked by a poor product.
DO NOT buy from this place.
