Roadhouse Ribs

We chose this winner off the internet and had an excellent dining experience. Our server, Nisha, was friendly and attentive, provided us with a sampling of barbecue sauces, and was there when needed. There were four of us in our party, and each one effusively praised the food. The ribs were tender and delicious, the brisket was tender and juicy, the BBQ chicken salad was delicious, and the steak dish was also good! The restaurant is tucked back off the road a bit, so you have to watch for the entrance to the restaurant. We are from out of state, but if we lived in the area, this would be our go-to restaurant. Prices were well in line and a very good value.

2024 update: A year later and another great experience with service, staff, and food. 5 stars still hold true. I had a rack of ribs (there were four sauces at the table to choose from but I prefer the dry rub); she had the barbecue chicken salad. Onion strings and mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. As it happened, I had to take most of my meal home, but I put it in the oven the next night at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, and it was just as good as the night before. I was sorely tempted by the prime rib special. Maybe next time!

We were here for a Marine graduation and found this place by accident. At first we thought we might be under dressed but the gentleman at the hostess stand was very welcoming and assured us that as long as we were hungry we were dressed appropriately. The food was delicious, service was quick and very polite. We would definitely visit again when we are in the area.

First time here and wow! Ordered the Korean style burnt ends and they were a little on the salty side but still melt in your mouth delicious! I ordered the Korean bbq glazed salmon and it was hands down some of the best I’ve ever had.

First off, thank you to the entire staff for an amazing fine-dining experience! The food was tasty and the service was phenomenal. For appetizers I got the fried green tomatoes and my daughter got the develish eggs. It came out fresh and delicious. For dinner I got the ribeye and my daughter got the shrimp alfredo. Let me say this: I’ve been to steakhouses from Charleston, SC to Las Vegas Nevada. The best of the best: Ruth Chris, Flemings, Morton’s—you name it, I’ve been. And the ribeye I received from here tonight can go toe to toe with any ribeye from any of those 5 star steakhouses. It was the most perfectly cooked, flavorful steak I’ve ever had. That smoky flavor along with the seasoning blend nearly made me tear up. The steak came out hot and fresh. I asked for medium-well, and it was a perfect medium-rare-wellish. The potatoes that came with it had a sweet taste to it that I’ve never experienced, but it was super delicious. The green beans as well. My daughter’s shrimp alfredo was also flavorful, hot & fresh, and seasoned to perfection. The shrimp actually taste like shrimp. I could cry tears of joy right now. I was so afraid I wouldn’t be pleased because of some of the reviews I read before coming, but I was really craving steak, and for the life of me I can’t understand how or why some people said what they said. My experience here is one of the best I’ve had. We were checked on consistently, the staff was friendly & kind, and the food; well it was the best as I said. I highly recommend this place. I can’t believe I’ve been driving by it for 8 months now and just now decided to stop by. I live less than 2 miles away, so I’ll be returning. Again, to the staff, thank you! Amazing food and great service! Everything was very reasonably priced- and my four small kids devoured their food and loved everything they ate. A rare occurrence!
The meat was all delicious- including the salmon and brisket. All cooked to perfection.
Will definitely be back!

I am so thankful for David at Roadhouse Ribs! While they are not necessarily a wedding venue, he allowed my family and I to reserve the entire place for a small ceremony on the patio and dinner/reception inside. The food was so incredible, I still have family members raving about it a month later. The servers were kind and professional, and everyone had a fabulous time! Every time I drive past the Roadhouse, I think about how wonderful our day was. I cannot thank them enough for allowing us to have our special day in their space!

We stopped by after my son’s basketball game. The staff greeted us warmly and were very attentive. The food was delicious! My plate was clean before I thought to take a picture! Highly recommend!!

The service was outstanding and the food was even better. Loved our server and Chef Todd can cook some feel like home cooking food. Don't sleep on this restaurant. Don't let the look of the outside or inside fool you.

PUT the Roadhouse on your list! I'm so jealous the locals have access to such great bbq. There are so many reasons to eat here, so please be patient with my review. Service: they are only open from 5-8 and only seat the number of tables the wait staff can tend to. Our server was attentive and wilingly shared his opinions when asked. Atmosphere: not sure what the building originally was, but they did a great job creating a warm space with garage doors and outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. Food: this is why you "need" to put this spot on your list! The meats were so flavorful. My daughter devoured the sliders (she's not a bib bbq person) and my wife's chicken salad was sooo good. I did a meat trio (ribs, pulle pork, and sausage) and was not disappointed. This is some of the best bbq I've ever had and the baked beans were hands down THE best I've ever eaten. We were visiting Beaufort and went to the Roadhouse when it was dark -it's not easy to see/find, but Google and patience took care of us! Their wine selection is legit (these are quality wines at very good pricing). They had a Moscato from Asti and Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley -at a bbq joint! That's unheard of. I'd drive an hour to eat to here for sure.

Only been there twice but everytime we go the food is beyond amazing, service is stellar and we are literally in and out and never have to wait. I cannot say enough good about this place!! All I can say is that other restaurants need to come here and see what great service and food is about and how it is done. Well done!!!

You have to eat here! My family and I travel quite a bit and everywhere we go we try and find the local honey holes. We don't always succeed, especially on a first time attempt, but we got lucky on this one! Service was great, corn muffins were good, ribs were fall-off-the-bone good, brisket and burnt ends were perfection, BEST Mac and cheese I have ever had and the green beans were delicious! MUST TRY!

I've been living in Beaufort for almost 4 years, always drove by this place and never stopped. Today, 22 August 2019, my wife and I decided to eat here for our Anniversary. I have to say, I regret not coming here before today. The staff were polite and professional. The atmosphere was simply great for a nice dinner. But the food...I have to say that the food was worth every single cent. Smoked Sausage, Ribs, Brisket, Mac-N-Cheese, Hush Puppies...everything was delicious. From the appetizer to the dessert, my wife and I had an amazing experience. Highly Recommend stopping and eating here.

We wanted something with a local flair. GREAT brisket and huge portions. Just what we were looking for. They make their own sauces and the meat is fantastic!! Bar was closed? But was a small inconvenience.

I moved to Beaufort two years ago and made this fine dinning establishment a regular visit.
Their food is top notch, nothing on the menu will not make you finish the plate and be happy with your choice! However, they do have their own way to prepare things and they don't Iike to change from the menu.
An odd choice to me is their delicious Blackened Mahi-Mahi (so good) topped with a black bean and corn "salsa" (so bad). This fish is difficult to cook and keep it moist. So, often a restaurant "tops" the fish with a favorable moisture rich sauce to add to the overall palate.
However, the bean and corn covering was as dry as the fish!! Not good. Not good at all. Wish they would try a little finesse with matching their food/topping combos. Then again, a choice entrée prepared with exceptional timing doesn't need a "topping".
Be safe..

A little pricey for everyday dining, but SO worth it. The ribs and brisket were ridiculously tender and flavorful, the green beans were fresh and cooked to the perfect crispness. Some off the best smoked sausage, and be sure to try the corn muffins and deviled eggs for appetizers. The eggs come with a topper of candied bacon and a fresh jalapeño slice.

Will drive the 2 hours to come back here! The food, drinks and service were all superb!! Just here visiting, we we looking for a nice place to eat...WE FOUND IT!!!!!!! You should to!! Our part had meals from burgers to brisket and everyone enjoyed.

Great place to eat, people are great and a good atmosphere. We go there every year for our anniversary came across it a few yrs back driving around, glad we did.

Bottom Line: Visit Roadhouse. You won’t be disappointed.

If you visit Beaufort for a recruit graduation or live nearby, you’d make a mistake not visiting this establishment. They pushed through the ‘Vid and continue to provide quality. The host has been here every time I have visited over the last four years and he is an absolute pleasure each time. The current staff is friendly and will work through any issues that arise.

This is a wonderful local restaurant and bar that YOU WILL LOVE.
