Spanish Moss Trail Train Depot

We stayed with family at an Airbnb & found this on the walking trail. Love the rails to trails! I wish we had bikes so we could explore further.

We loved walking the Spanish Moss Trail during our trip. This area was very well maintained with plenty of restrooms and water fountains (for people and pets!). Wish we had remembered to bring the bikes that were included with our Airbnb but the long walk was nice too! There were plenty of things to see including the waterway, wildlife, and historic markers.

Awesome trail!!! Clean, and serene we walked 2.5 miles of the 10 and saw so many jewels. It really makes you appreciate life, history, and every human on the trail spoke a welcoming greeting. Absolutely loved it.

Great trail, well maintained, lots to see along the way. Some construction on the trail currently below Broome parking lot. First time biking, will definitely do again soon.

Nice centralized place to park for the Trail. There is a drinking fountain here, I believe, as well as is a Bike Tool Station in case you need some last minute adjustments.

Beautiful walk and seeing books left for kids on trail was inspiring.

Great place to walk or ride bikes!! No public bathrooms. They have a few porter johns on the trail. Don't walk at night. All the bridge's you can fish off of.

Wonderful trail for biking or walking.

My wife and I spent the day riding the Spanish Moss trail. Rode the entire trail start to finish and back again for a total of 20+ miles. Great ride. No hills just a pleasant ride. Plenty of places for restroom breaks and a multitude of places to stop for lunch. Beaufort is a very beautiful town. There is a section currently closed for construction but an easy work around to complete the trail. Construction scheduled to be completed mid May 2022 but the detour actually added to the pleasant ride.

This is a very cool trail, especially for bikes. We walked from the train depot about 5 miles I to town and back. Some sections are remote with scenic views and bridges over water. Some sections are alongside a busy road that are not so fun. All of the trail is well cared for and two lane concrete. Easy walking / biking.

I love walking and biking on this trail. So much to see as you walk. This path goes through so many parts of Beaufort.

Probably the best trail in terms of solid, well drained surface we’ve biked on. Very straight, heading north was closed for construction. Old industrial buildings add interest. Good parking. Provided air pump needs repair.

We are from out of town looking for a place to eat some lunch and a quick walk. Loved looking at the old warehouse and enjoyed he mg out doors.

We like the trail a lot. Like the organizations and individuals who created and continue to support this community. We haven't seen the entire trail but what we've seen is very well maintained, the people we've met along the trail are considerate. Go and enjoy this resource!

The Spanish Moss Trail is a wonderful local amenity that is being used by a healthy cross section of our community on a daily basis. You encounter people of every demographic on any given stroll or bicycle ride. The surprising thing is that there was significant opposition when it was being planned.
