Probably one of the best BBQ places I have ever been. When you go you have to get the beef, a side of slaw and a side of blue cheese. They give you a mountain of fries which are absolutely delicious. 10/10 it’s a must stop.

Woman owned business that has some of the best barbecue I ever had. I ordered the beef meat platter that came with thin cut smoked beef, hand cut fries, biscuits, and the best coleslaw I have ever had. My daughter had the pork platter and said the same thing. This is off the beaten path but if you have the time and love great barbecue it’s well worth the trip. The meat platters are big enough to feed 2 moderate eaters. Oh and the house sweet tea is good too.

I enjoyed a tasty pork sandwich at Ridgewood Barbaque while in Bluff City, Tennessee. Oh, and the Blue cheese with crackers was delicious.

This place is amazing. It’s been around for years and they clearly know what they’re doing. The home style fries are my favorite, the slaw and beans were good, and the sliced bbq, while different than most folks idea of chopped bbq, is very flavorful and delicious. The sauce usually makes or breaks a bbq restaurant for me and their sauce is the bomb. Our waitress was so sweet to our baby and all the staff, though busy, was in a good mood and cheerful. We were visiting from out of town but we’ll definitely make a point to return!

I’ve been coming here for many years. This is the best BBQ in the Tri-Cities and I’ve been to many restaurants.
Their sweet tea was great, bbq pork sandwich wasn’t soaked in sauce today. You could taste the many different flavors of the meat. The beans… yum but the only downside… and I’ll probably say this for a lifetime but their fries aren’t the greatest, they’ll do tho.

Delicious! Don't be fooled by the look! The food is exceptional! As a result, parking is nearly impossible.

Wonderful barbeque, ample portions, and down-home staff! A stop well worth going to find. Yes, you have to leave the beaten path, but if you want amazing barbeque, just set your GPS and go!

Oh WOW. Yes, it is that good. Super friendly staff! Food was all excellent. You can tell all is homemade! Beanswe delicious, slaw was perfect with not too much mayo, fries are hand cut, and the BBQ is sliced! I know, that is not typical, but It was so good! They told me they use fresh hams instead of fresh shoulders, that makes the slicing possible. Finally, no matter what, get the blue cheese! Just dip crackers in it, fries, or put it on a salad, wow!

We bought 2 pints of sauce, sweet but not too sweet, very good! Lot’s of tradition at this little place WAY off the beaten path basically in a residential area. Loved it and will be back many times!

This place never disappoints. The bluecheese it a great starter, the coleslaw some of the best. Food comes out hot, service is great. I would put this restaurant against any claimed 5 star.

My go-to for BBQ for a long time. It's out of the way but well worth the trip. The blue cheese dip and barbecue baked beans are amazing. It can be very busy at times but it's worth it, just have a little patience.

Rated Legendary by Roadfood.com, Ridgewood does not disappoint! You can plainly see the smoke on the thin-sliced beef, which tastes like a heavenly less-salty beef bacon. The fries are obviously freshly natural-cut. They are some of the best fries ever.
Easily worth the 30-min detour off the Interstate. If you’re in Bristol Tennessee for NASCAR, of course you will stop. But even if your in Memphis or Durham, it’s still worth the trip.

If you ever visit the Tri-City area make sure you check out Ridgewood Bbq. Family owned since 1947, the food was fresh and delicious. The prices are quite reasonable.

Easily the best barbecue sandwich I have ever had, and goodness knows, I sure have had a lot of them over the years. Saw Ridgewood on a "Road Food" (Jane and Michael Stern) segment on Larry King 25 years ago and ate there the next summer. I've been coming back ever since. Amazing!

One note: this place is all about the food. There's nothing wrong with the atmosphere, but there's also absolutely nothing fancy about it. Great authentic barbecue. Pork sandwiches and baked beans are real standouts.

Great roadside place to eat with shaved barbecue (I'm used to pulled and sliced). My first experience was with the platter which came with generous portions. On subsequent trips I ordered the sandwich and that is my reccomendation for the shaved meat. I'm also more of a Carolina style fan with a vinegar sauce so adding a generous dose of hot sauce made for a perfect sandwich. Fries are fresh cut and tasty along with the coleslaw and beans ( which tends toward the soupy side rather than a thick sauce but are good none the less).

No need for a long review. This is simply the best bbq in east Tennessee, quite possibly the east coast. Highly recommended.

Ridgewood is wonderful! It's like going back in time to an old roadside dinner in the 1960s. My only complaint is the size of the food portions. Way too large!! I wish they had smaller plates portion options. It just seems wasteful to serve so much. Then again, if you are super hungry this is the place to go!!!

Country all the way, you haven’t experienced East TN until you eat here. Unique BBQ, my favorite beans ever, and blue cheese dip. Yummy!
