Chunga's

The Al Pastor Gordita I had today at Chunga’s was the best I’ve ever had! The shell was hot and crisp. And the meat was so flavorful. My kids tried the enchiladas and my husband had a smothered steak burrito. The chips and salsa were great. Everything was fresh and delicious. We were completely satisfied. The dining are was clean and the service was friendly and fast. Thank you!

Had the tacos, tried three different kinds. Loved the Al Pastor. Great little place. Music was a little too loud inside.

Good quality Mexican food. The building is a bit run down. It's not a good neighborhood to be in.

Great food, mediocre facility. Be aware that they have lines at lunch and it's hard to get a table. The best is to get take out and eat in your office or home. That said, great food!

I really enjoyed eating at this place. It was a quick in, a quick order, and the food came out quick. My whole visit took less than 30 minutes. The staff was quite helpful and polite. Lots of fun music and smiles to go around. It was almost like a fiesta, but that happens every day. Everything seemed quite clean and the food tasted amazing. I would absolutely stop here and eat again.

I had perhaps the most magical tacos of my life at Chunga's. I don't know exactly what it was, but I do know that I eat a fair few tacos every week, and only very rarely do they even come close to this.

If I were a betting man — and let's be clear; I'm not — I'd bet that it's the salsa they use in each taco. It was just spicy enough, very flavorful, and an excellent consistency with the meat.

I understand there are more options than mere tacos, but next time I go, I'm getting the tacos again. And every time after that. I won't even hesitate.

My only complaint with Chunga's is that it, at current, is only open three days a week. If I feel the itch on a Monday, I'm out of luck. On a Saturday, I'll just have to find something else. On a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday? That's the sweet spot.

Wow! It's probably a good thing that Chunga's is located where it is. If it were more convenient to get to, I'd eat there way too often. Friendly staff on top of high quality, authentic Mexican food... I was in heaven. Loved the tacos Al pastor, but the steak corn quesadilla was awesome, too. Spicy chicken sopes were on point, as well.

Wow!! This place is amazing!! Tastiest food I’ve had in all of Utah!! Everyone was so nice and just had good vibes. Really nice indoor and outdoor eating area.

Chunga’s has some of the best authentic tacos for the price. The tacos al pastor were easily my favorite. The various salsas and sauces they serve are all so tasty. The tacos are just they right amount of spicy as to keep you entertained but not overwhelm.

Ordered Chunga's to cater my event this week. The price was unbeatable for the amount and quality of food we got. We ordered beef and chicken tacos, rice, beans, vegetarian quesadillas, chips & salsa, and churros. The staff was very helpful during the ordering process, and the delivery was perfectly on time. 10/10 would recommend catering from Chunga's, and we will be doing it again for sure!

Chungas is the best Mexican food in slc. Their al pastor is out of this world, service is good, and they have a nice shady patio. I'm not usually a fan of places that charge for chips and salsa, but for $3.50 you get a big plate of chips and 4 unique salsas.

One of the best Al Pastor tacos I’ve tried. Fresh and delicious! So grateful for the hard work they put in to run these restaurants. There are two locations and they are both fire!! Love love love!

Wow their food is good!! I served my mission in Mexico and it is really authentic food and it’s to die for!! Every time we come to SLC this is where we’re gonna stop! The chicken torta is amazing the chicken is super flavorful really well cooked and seasoned!

The Al Pastor burrito was phenomenal!! A lot of food, and absolutely delicious. Chunga'a is classic, delicious, hole-in-the-wall Mexican food. At lunchtime, it can get slammed and take a bit to get your food. Also, sometimes they only have one person at the cash register taking orders, which makes it tough when they take phone calls while people are standing in line. But the food is pretty dang good. And there's a lot of great outdoor seating.

Wonderful tacos. This place is no joke. If you're on the hunt for salt lakes best taco, this is your last stop.

Driving by, you might not think much of Chunga's. It is small and has an unimposing exterior, but you shouldn't judge this book by its cover! We actually ended up there by accident, as a nearby restaurant had a long wait. I have never been so happy with an change in plans!

The food here is fantastic. I tried the spicy chicken nachos and the grilled chicken burrito and both were incredible and every bite was a symphony of flavor. And as if that weren't enough, the portions are generous.

I had a burrito. It was stuffed to the brim with flavor. Healthy amounts of meats, rice and beans.

Do not let this location's curb appeal fool you, their small parking lot is practically always full especially from 7 pm until they close. In my book, a full parking lot is a great sign for pigging out! Walk inside to a wonder of wonders in SLC. Humble, yet clean and well managed. It doesn't get any more Mexican than this. Their moles are super. We had tacos, this majestic Burrrrrrrrrrito that you see in the photo which I dubbed "El Mofo" and a side of nachos which comes with a big serving of guacamole "yum!", salsa and moles. All these items were enough for two people to savor a successful national taco day "burp". Service is friendly, prompt and accurate. I heard that their El Pastor is amazing, but I do not consume pork.

The food was good and staff very efficient and friendly. But I'll say it over and over 2.10 for 3 green sauces. It makes you look like your just taking advantage put it in with the food prices and the food we just ordered. Thanks

Incredible Mexican food. It was the first place I went after landing at SLC airport. Tacos and gordita were on point.
