The Star Cafe

Decided to finally make my way in, and I’m so happy we did. I loved the atmosphere it was perfect for the stockyards. It was like being in a small town somewhere in Texas but right in the heart of the city. The service was great, but I was even more impressed with the food we got. We got the chicken fried steak with baked potatoes for the side. Everything literally melted in your mouth. The chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly, the batter was crispy and the steak wasn’t chewy like most restaurants. The baked potatoes were better than I have ever gotten anywhere. Prices were spot on with the quality of the food, even tho it was on the higher end. We will be back!

Great service paired with good food at a reasonable price within walking distance to the stockyards. The food was too yummy to take a photo before we dove into our meal.

Great little diner with Texas sized portions! This really feels like a hometown diner in a big city. The staff he’s very cheery and polite. The food is great you better be hungry if you’re going. There’s extra seating in the side banquet room. This place is busy though. You might have to wait a little while during breakfast and lunch hour. The atmosphere is really fun! Lots of Texas memorabilia

A wonderful evening at the Star Cafe! Bacon wrapped tenderloin was spot on. Grilled Chicken salad with house dressing perfect. Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes makes you feel like your at home. The wait staff and owner make you feel right at home.

At the Star Cafe I had the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, side salad, gravy and bisquits. The chicken fried chicken was tender hot and made to order. Mashed potatoes were freshly made. The bisquits are made in house not the ones that come in a box. The staff is wonderful. A good place to have lunch or any meal while at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Been there forever before the stock yards went crazy commercial. Best chicken fried steak and tenderloin salad in the city!

Excellent steak. I own a BBQ restaurant and a chef. The steak was amazing. My wife had the chicken fried steak which was perfect. Treated like royalty. Going back very soon. Our waitress was family in 5 minutes. Took great care of us. More than five stars.

Man ive been working at the basement bar for a while now and always wondered about this place. Well today i came early enough to grab a bite to eat even tho it was almost closing time they accommodated me! Let me tell ya if you’re looking for a good steak come here! Also all the servers are super cool and easy going! Will def be back soon!

The Ranch,The burger,The T-Bone. this restaurant is probably the best one in the area and I’ve been to all of them. Old Time vibe great staff and the food is good ! THE HOME MADE RANCH IS SO GOOD ! The lemon butter or whatever they cook that T BONE in is so GOOD.

This is my favorite place to eat in the whole world. Just an awesome place. Bacon wrapped filet with a salad and sweet tea!!!!!! I love it

The all American cheeseburger and fried was great. Also, the service was great and the food came timely.

Delicious fried okra and the chicken fried steak is the best I’ve ever had! And I’ve had a lot!!

Service is great. The servers are friendly and efficient. The food was really good. Burger I had was a good size, onion rings (charged separately) were yummy too. If you want to watch your calories, I recommend the grilled chicken salad. Their ranch dressing is addicting. Love this place.

I came here a birthday dinner tonight and they don't seem like they tag themselves as being a steakhouse but their steaks are REALLY good. I got the bacon wrapped filet mignon and it comes with salad, a side (like mashed potatoes, fries, or baked potato for +$2), biscuit, grilled onions, and grilled mushrooms. It's a little pricey at $27 but it's SUPER worth it. They have other items that are less expensive but I've only been here twice and gotten the bacon wrapped filet mignon both times and it was SO DELICIOUS!!! The waiters/waitresses are really nice too and they kept our drinks filled (at a table of 10 people). I definitely recommend this place to anybody for a date night or even just a nice lunch. Plus, they're in the stockyards area so there's lots of bars, shops, and other things to see in the area while you're there. I always look forward to going back whenever possible.

The Star Cafe was fantastic. It had been awhile since we had been there but its still authentic. A yearly place closed its doors so The Star became the option and it did Way Better . Steak and a Scotch was the required need but even the salad hit a home run. Debbie did a great job and the cherry pie a must have. Enjoy

Top notch food. The steaks are amazing. Steaks don't even need steak sauce they are seasoned so well and the meat just melts in your mouth. The staff is very friendly and they provide exceptional service. Definitely worth the wait we will be back for sure!...thank you for the great food star cafe!

Great place!! Excellent food and great hometown Texas atmosphere. Skip the tourist steakhouses on Main Street, and enjoy a steak here same quality at half the price. Like their tshirts say, "The best steak in Dallas is at the Star Cafe in Fort Worth!!"

We were only in town for a Thursday night but still had live amazing music and all of the staff were super friendly and wanted to make a connection and get to know you. Had lunch and dinner here, the burgers are to die for and the steaks are even better! Cheap drinks, great food, and amazing people, couldn’t ask for more!
