I practically lived out of the store last winter. These people are the most down-to-earth. Awesome people you will ever encounter in the state of Maine. The pizza cook should be given a Nobel Prize for his creations. Everybody in this store makes you feel like they're happy to see You come in And they're food, oh good Lord what? I would not do for some of those stuffed tater tots right now If I end up somehow getting To heaven I know this is going to be right down the way from My cloud

Don’t know why this place has bad reviews on Google. Stumbled upon this store while driving to Southwest Harbor lighthouse in cold winter. Washroom was impressively neat and clean. Store was well maintained. Prices were okay compared to everything else on the quiet side and staff was super friendly.

We've been to bass harbor 3 different years and always go to Hansens for snacks and little odds and ends.

People are very friendly, pizza is delicious, the guy there last time even made us a custom pizza and it was perfect! The reviews on here are nothing like what we experience. I feel like people can go somewhere many times and have good experiences but then leave the bad review one time they're not happy. And good on them for their new ice cream shop and food stand!

Wonderful experience of cold ice cream, polydactyl felines, and live music on a hot day!

Staying a week in Tremont, this place had everything we needed, while avoiding the nightmare that is the downtown Hannaford.

The pizza was really delicious.

Such a convenience on the slower side of the island.

Solid food, good people, and they’re open year round, caring for the community. Even open at 3am catering to the local lobster fishermen! Hansen’s is the real deal, and I’m grateful to have it nearby.

We ordered 3 lobster rolls and they were the best we’ve had on the island. Service was great, short wait.

This place has the best pizza I’ve had in a long time! It’s a must stop when visiting the area. I can’t wait to drive back to get a few more slices!

Try the chicken here. I wasn't a seafood fan so as a joke I wanted to find the best chicken fingers on the island. Look no further. Also the honey butter biscuits.

Bathrooms were clean. A nice clean easy little place. Good place to stop before/after seeing the light house.

Hansen's Outpost was an alright stop for some snacks and drinks prior to camping. The essentials are generally here, and the staff are reasonably helpful. Prices were acceptable. Location is the key asset here, as it's the only shop in the area as far as we could tell.

Good store with a nice selection. Friendly people and prices are reasonable for the island. The chicken fingers are excellent and cost effective.

$16 for a gallon of milk and Pam spray. $9.99 for a gallon of milk! You expect to pay more at a mini mart, but this is price gouging. Everything here is twice what it should be. 20 minutes up the road and milk is less than $5. Hawaii does not charge this much! And come to find out, the milk was expired!

The customer service (clerk) at the counter was rude and offered terrible service. Over the years I have found prices are high, and things are not marked.
The reason for this review which I would not even give one star to is:
I recently bought 3 different bottles of wine, and mistakingly took a bottle next to one I had intended. (Declined a receipt as I did not need one, and did not want to waste paper). Realizing my mistake when I got home, I put the unopened bottle, still in it's bag in the car to exchange for the more expensive bottle next time I went by.
About a week later, I stopped in. Same clerk at counter remembered me, and also even remembered I did not take a receipt. I explained that I made a mistake and wanted to exchange the unopened bottle for the one in my hand which was more expensive (and of course was willing to pay the difference). She very abruptly and with attitude said "It was QUITE A WHILE AGO.." I replied it was only last week. She said" While I remember you, you do not have a receipt (which she also remembered) and it was QUITE A WHILE AGO" I asked then if she would not help me-
This was one of a few times I have been in there and left feeling the service in the store was terrible.
I've lived on this island for over two decades, and the people and community are so nice and kind and lovely. In general, stores are very accommodating (amazingly so)
This store is not in keeping with the general feeling of our island community.
I will not shop there again.
