If you’re wanting an experience, come here and make sure Sean is the one helping you out. Came here on a whim with my wife and was floored by the service provided. Sean was knowledgeable, passionate, and just genuinely amazing to talk to. 10/10 recommend if you’re visiting Austin and enjoy a Mezcal experience, or if you’re looking to impress a date. We will be back.

P.S. Sean deserves a raise. Seriously, he’s incredible.

Awesome and unique experience to grab a neat mezcal drink with a couple of friends.
The bartender pours single shots of any mezcal (they have a wide variety of classic mezcals to unique and rare mezcals); if you don’t know what to get, the bartender will pick something out that’s right for you. And to bring out the flavors of the mezcal, you’ll get an orange with dried worms / salt / spice to eat.
Highly recommend this as a cozy unique spot to highlight Austin’s bar scene.

Man I love Mezcal, and if u do to then this place is a must if your in Austin. Ive never been to a place like it. Super small, super chill n the smoothest, most flavorful Mezcal I've had. Very limited hours so plan accordingly. U wont regret it!

Incredible selection of top quality mezcals. Bar tender was very knowledgeable as well. We told him a couple that we like and asked for a recommendation to try, he nailed it and picked one that was perfect for our taste.

This hidden little Oaxacan gem nestled above Whislers is an authentic taste of the land of mezcal!

Came here one evening to sample their wares and just like any place in Mexico, the posted hrs are guidelines...8pm really means 8:20.

I loved it the moment I walked across the threshold! It was so fantastically true to type to some of the "hole in the wall" mezcalerias I'd visited throughout Oaxaca! It is so rustic and intimate...seriously, 10-15 people tops in here before it starts to get very "mano larga".

Sean, the man behind the bar, is very well versed in his mezcals and was able to make excellent recommendations for our little group based on price, previous experience w/mezcal, and taste. I also love that they have the authentic clay pot "copitas"!

The best part of my visit there was seeing the amazing spanish-style guitarist Luis Canuelos! The perfect place to enjoy his amazing skill up-close and personal!

If you are looking for something cultural and exotic off the beaten E 6th path, then Tobala is it!

A++ in the middle of all the same thing, this place stands out. It is a bit hard to fine as it is above Whisler's. So walk through Whisler and up the stairs on the patio. The size of queen bedroom, so charming. Realize this is a Mezcal tasting bar, meaning not cocktails just straight mezcal tasting. Even if for just one, a must stop.

Sooooo cool. If your in Austin for a minute definetaly check it out.

For a Mezcal drinker, it's tough not to love this place. The bar downstairs is fun. The Thai food truck made me weep from the spiciness of the Waterfall Pork. The girls are pretty. But the Mezcal bar is the real star.

A great place to learn about Mezcal! Our guide was super knowledgeable and was able to quickly zero in on varietals that both fit our conceptions of mezcal and others that refined those notions to expand our experience of the wonderful world of mezcal!

Absolutely loved the experience here. Best place to experience Mezcal in Austin. The vibe is just right.

They have mezcal for sure in a dimly lit intimate room.
