I'll go here over the big stores just about every time. Most knowledgeable about liquor, especially whiskey. Super friendly and nice to just go and talk with people who are knowledgeable about alcohol. Fair prices too.

I always come to this store above others. The manager here is very friendly and helpful. We always chit chat a little before I leave. Love it here.

This place is AWESOME. The owner and is son are FANTASTIC.

I was in town for a conference and we stopped in to pick-up a bottle of whiskey. The selection was strong and the employees were helpful. The three of us (with one infant!) got stranded there at night (long story) and we had no idea how to get to our hotel. The owner went above and beyond to help us get a taxi. When he wasn't sure what taxi service to recommend he called his son who came directly from where he was to help us. The two made us welcome in the store and allowed us to stay inside safe and warm.

We were really grateful for the kindness they showed us - a kindness that showed a cultural appreciation for the guest-host relationship. We wish this business all good things in the future. When I'm in Fort Worth again I hope to patronize this store again!

Nice guy , answered questions I had. Not a large store but has enough variation for your liquor needs.

Hemphill itself isn't what you would call a safe street at this point in time - the Hemphill corridor project will change that in a few years. I'm mentioning that because of the look of the building itself - it's a plain white brick, with bars where there need to be bars. The clientele is about what you would expect from the neighborhood.

That being said, walk inside, and talk to the owner. He's there, everyday, friendly and knowledgeable. We've talked about a large variety of alcohols, and he's always knows something informative or interesting. He has a great palate, and will gladly recommend something.

That being said, if you want Jack or Jameson or whatever mass produced alcohol, you're really better off buying something new or fun. The standard sellers are a little pricier compared to a bulk store like specs or Total wine (of course, he doesn't have 10k sq ft of inventory room), but not by more than a couple of bucks.
