Tequila Grill Ottumwa

Service was good and food was delivered promptly. As you see in the photo I ordered a margarita and the first one was a premade mix from a plastic jug. Super sweet and lacking the tequila flavor or punch. I inquired about it and the bartender said “house tequila” haha
It stayed on my table for awhile before my waiter came back. He got with management and they made me the real thing. Hand mixed in a shaker with tequila off-the-shelf. Perhaps you have to ask for a good one when ordering.
This place is packed for a Wednesday night. I guess the word is out.
Hey it’s good food and if you ask for good drinks they are good to.
I recommend trying it.

Delicious food and fast service what can I say. The place was very busy but they still managed to get us in right away for Mother’s Day. Service was impeccable. Food was really flavorful and delicious. I would definitely recommend this Mexican restaurant!

Best Mexican food restaurant in the immediate Ottumwa area. HONESTLY every meal is delicious 🤤. From the chili relleno to the molcajete beef Chicken meal 🤤. I can’t pic a favorite. Anything with carne asada or steak is so good. Also the customer service is great. The servers are funny and fast. They get the job done and if they make a mistake they make up for it. I really enjoyed the food and the price was right. All the meals have guacamole and quality Mexican food you can trust. MUST TRY. Delicious authentic Mexican food restaurant.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Their peach Margarita was perfect! Giovanny our server was very nice and super attentive. My husband and I split Nachos and Fajitas! Everything was perfect! My only complaint is that the sat us at a table by the kitchen/bar, so I was loud and busy. And also there is a door that leads down to the basement and when they leave it open there is a sewer smell. But Everything else was Awesome!!! We will be back!!

Have lived in Ottumwa now for 4+years and finally stopped in a week ago. Well... I've been in there everyday since ..... So friendly staff .... Food is excellent and the staff is even better!!!!

As soon as we walked in we were seated while they were very busy. As soon as we sat down our drinks were taken along with chips and salsa. Our nachos with beef appetizer came out fast and was delicious.

The waiter did come back to double check and get our orders right which even though he had to come back i wasn't upset because at least he came back to get them right instead of bringing out the wrong food.

Food was amazing and the service was impeccable they deserve the 5 star rating from me and the high rating they have on google.

Started with cold Dos Equis and chorizo con queso. Progressed to a custom made fajita plate I called, named and dubbed “the chonita” off menu south Texas style. (fajitas, shrimp, bell pepper, onion, tomato, bacon, mushrooms, queso blanco on top on a steaming hot plate! service was great! Did not expect this out if Iowa. I was surprised and satisfied! Thank you!! Ps make home made flour tortillas damnit!! If someone is standing around they could be rolling out a tortilla! :)

Today was my first trip to Tequila Grill in Ottumwa, Iowa. I went for lunch with my daughter in law, Sierra. She had been there before and wanted me to try it. I don't get to the big city very often, I prefer small towns. I will definitely be making another trip sometime soon to have lunch here again, even though I am an hour away. We were met at the door by a clean, well groomed, smiling waiter. I felt immediately welcome. He brought chips and salsa with menus right away. The only thing I could recommend is that they need some new menus, they have been very well seasoned by their many customers. We ordered a burrito and fajitas . Within 10 minutes of ordering we had hot food in front of us. Food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing, even at prime lunch hour. I must say, I have not seen a waiter like this for a long time. All my needs were met and questions about the menu were answered . I liked the openness of the restaurant and the casual furnishings. Prices on the menu were very reasonable, so that everyone could afford a nice meal. I also enjoyed the Mexican music piped in. This would be a great place to hang out. I would mark it , as one of my favorites.

Beautiful building with so many historical architectural features! The food was delicious, and the service fast and very friendly. My little girl loved having her birthday here, and they sang for her, and put a big hat on her, then gave her a nice dessert. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Great place to eat. Price to food ratio is a great value. Menu is huge and usually that leads to a lot of lower quality items. That is not the case here. Great flavor and everyone in your party should be able to find something to eat. Recommend giving the Super Burrito a try, it’s huge. If you’re here visiting in Ottumwa great place for any Mexican item.

Good food, great Margarita! Our server was very nice & patient. It's a little more older place & could do with a facelift, but that wouldn't keep me from stopping in whenever we might be in the area.

Tequila Grille's service was quick, the Margaritas were amazing and the food was even better than I anticipated. Friendly and professional staff made the dining experience worth while.

Tequila Grill is some of the best Mexican food in Ottumwa. Thier service was fast and kind, the food was hot and delicious, and the atmosphere is perfect for a Mexican restaurant! Highly recommended!!!

I got a To-Go order of their Mexicano burrito and a spinach quesadilla. The burrito was one of the best I’ve had and the quesadilla was exactly what it sounds like. Fast service. Clean restaurant. Thank you!

Very spacious with great service and staff. Chili verde was excellent.
