Potros Garcia

This was my first visit. My daughter and granddaughters came with me. The service was awesome! The food was great, and I would definitely recommend Potros Garcia.

Called in a large business order - Food was excellent, all orders were accurate, and ready for pickup on time. Will most definitely return!

This is easily the best Mexican restaurant in Ottumwa, if not the best I’ve ever been to. In the dozens of times I’ve come here over the years, not once has a single aspect of the experience been disappointing. The food is delicious, the portions are huge, the prices are affordable, the restaurant is clean and the staff are amazing— they work super hard and all deserve a raise! I highly recommend Potros to anybody who wants a fantastic meal at a reasonable price.

The best Mexican food in the region. I love their Pollo Mole, and lots of other dishes.

Ottumwa has several Mexican restaurants, all of which are different and unique in their own way. Potros Garcia is almost a hidden gem - it seems not many people know about it, and so it never crowded.
I've tried nearly everything on their menu and have enjoyed all of it. If you haven't already tried them, or been there recently, make plans to give them a chance. I think they'll win you over!

I had the seafood fajitas and was pleasantly surprised, the closest to coast fajitas that I have ate in the Midwest. My husband loved his hard shell tacos, and he is not easy to please. Staff was definitely there to provide customer service🥰😚🥰 THANKS FOR THE GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!

If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, with amazing flavor then you GOTTA go to Potros Garcia! They have great food, my favorite is the Arros Con Polo! Simply amazing and no one else makes it like they do! The only thing you'll be more amazed with is the spacious inside of what looks like a small building! They're great for lunch or dinner. They're also quick, so if you're in a hurry, don't worry, you can get your food and get on your way quickly. They also have a wide array of drink options! Do yourself a favor and stop in and your taste buds will thank you!

Great place to eat. I especially love their salsa. It is the best I have ever had. Service is excellent! Louis is one of the best waiters hands down in Ottumwa.

Amazing! Service was faster than fast! Giant portions, I had the sampler with a little bit of everything it came on 2 huge plates. Three of us were dining and there was so much food we asked to move to a larger table. My friend ordered the Hawaiian fajitas- which were served in a fresh pineapple half, so hot that steam was wafting off in clouds! Our server, Luis was extraordinarily helpful and gracious. I will definitely be back if I’m ever in Ottumwa again! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I had the steak fajitas. They were awesome. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. You don't always see that. There was too much to eat, I had to take some home. Their rice and refried beans were some of the best I've ever had.

Excellent atmosphere and great food! I had the grilled shrimp fajitas, even the single order had more than enough shrimp. 16-20 sized, no mini shrimps. Most places give you extra veggies to mask the lack of shrimp, not El Potro! Affordable prices as well! 9/18

There staff are extremely friendly and kind. The service is lighting fast. The food is the best in town and the chips are hot! They have more variety than most other local places. The prices are great 4 people for just over $30.

I've been coming here for around a decade. The staff is friendly and inviting. The food is good, service is quick, and the portions are huge. If you are unsure what to get just grab whatever is the special and it won't disappoint.

Very friendly staff who are very accommodating! I've called on the phone to get something I couldn't remember the name of multiple times and they are so helpful. They are great about phone orders and I've never had any issues. Delicious food and great pricing as well.
