During my visit to the house where my great grandfather was born in Chicago, I stumbled upon this charming Italian restaurant across the street, and it turned out to be a delightful discovery!

We opted for the Carbonara and Pesto Gnocchi, and both dishes were nothing short of amazing. The flavors were authentic and perfectly executed, making each bite a true delight. The freshness of the bruschetta was a refreshing starter, setting the tone for the culinary journey ahead.

What truly made our experience memorable was the kindness of the server. Their warmth and attentiveness added an extra layer of hospitality to our meal, making us feel right at home.

If you're in Chicago and craving authentic Italian cuisine served with a side of genuine hospitality, this restaurant is a must-visit. I'll definitely be returning on my next trip to the city!

Amazing place!!! Went to try this place on a whim and did not regret it. Lovely back area with lots of seating. The service was phenomenal. Very authentic Italian restaurant. Lasagna was delicious, and so was the Italian ice. The waiters knew what wines to pair with specific dishes and had great recommendations.

Felt like Goodfellas walking to the back in the seating area lol. Food is amazing fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and rack of lambs was amazing

Great restaurant and great service I would recommend the truffle ravioli and tiramisu. Service was great and waiters were friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy and definitely a good place to be and have dinner at.

Nothing beats an "old neighborhood" Italian restaurant and Bruna's is the gold standard. Bruna, himself, is there to work the room and make wine recommendations. On our recent visit, he recommended Brunello del Montalchino 2017 that was a perfect fit for our pasta, lamb shops, and sausage. Sublime.

I've been going here for over a decade. The food is always delicious and the service is fantastic! The owner, Luciano, is full of light, laughter, and wonderful stories. In a city with tons of Italian restaurants, this one is the best. It's where italians go for italian food. Feels a bit like eating in Nonna's basement.

We dined outdoors on a beautiful evening and food was excellent, including the bread. :)
Also enjoyed an appetizer of sausage and peppers, followed by veal scallopine and scallops alla Cristina.
Delicious and well presented.
Service was attentive, congenial, and accommodative.
Highly recommended.

Always a pleasure eating here. From time to time I make my way over for a great meal. Today was one of those days. I sat at the bar, was served promptly and had an awesome conversation with a longtime customer. The food is superb, the bartender is on point and the atmosphere is old-school Italian. Small intimate setting with a quaint old world feel to it this place will make you feel like you’re in old Italy! The portions are large as to be expected from any good Italian restaurant and the atmosphere was welcoming with attentive staff. Food was great and exactly what I had hoped for. If you’re in to hearty flavorful fresh Italian good made to order, this is the spot for you.

Everything was amazing... great food ... we had the chicken parm w veggies and carbonara pasta... As an appetizer we had fried calamari ... and for desert a slice of teremesu ... the music the atmosphere Everything was perfect... both me and my gf left very happy...

It was extremely good food! We met family there who were all in town for my daughter's run in the Chicago Marathon. The spaghetti dish she had was perfect for a dinner the night before the race!

The absolute best food I've ever had. Great food. Great service. Great atmosphere. ❤ Loved every bite!

By far the best Italian food in the city! They have a patio with tents separating each table. Perfect for social distancing and completely cozy with the personal heaters. We had the special lobster ravioli in brown butter sauce and the grilled calamari as an appetizer. The food was so yummy!! Street parking is easily found and free. Public transit is also really close with the western Ave pink line and western bus within short proximity.

I love this place! I’ve been here a few times and enjoy it every time. I got the chicken Marsala and my boyfriend got the veal scaloppini. The server was so nice and worked with my substitutions, I asked for the Marsala to be served over angel hair pasta. Im not too sure but I think you get a bowl of penne with marinara. They give you such a huge serving too! I had enough to take home.

Excellent food. Old style Italian neighborhood restaurant. Loved it.
