A real find in Peoria Heights, it's a true neighborhood style bookstore where you can take your time and get help by an attentive staff. The interior is quaint and cozy, with comfortable chairs for reading and shelves full of a great selection of books for all ages. I got to meet Mary Cantrell that day, author of the children's book, "Saving 10". Purchased a great children's book, met a very sweet author and found a terrific book store! We will be back.

A perfectly organized interior with it's cozy atmosphere makes one want to explore the many book shelves for publications of interest. The small local shop's atmosphere is definitely conducive to reading and is a step back in time to the days of the locally owned and friendly small retail businesses.
My wife has had her first children's book published and Mary Beth(book shop proprietor) was eager to help promote yet another local author by setting up a book signing date and displaying the book in her shop, as well as providing "word of mouth" information to patrons.
If you want to get that friendly "feel of home" while you shop for your next read, visit "I Know You Like A Book" in Peoria Heights, Illinois.

My favorite book store in Peoria. The owner is great to discuss books, authors and local authors and Peoria history. She is very knowledgeable and well read. Marybeth has ordered many books for us and they arrive in a few days. She has even anticipated books my sons might come in looking for in the future. It is nice to know that spending my money locally is appreciated. It is not just a sale or profit. It is about the relationship, we developed through a mutual love of books, reading and curiosity. It is always nice to be warmly greeted and introduced to the latest indie books. “I know you like a Book, “ has greeting cards, mugs, bags, games and gift ideas. It is delightful to go to a store with excellent customer service and personal service.

Fantastic little New and Used Bookstore that will make you nostalgic for Lavar Burton and the Reading Rainbow. There's also a small bistro inside with places to read and eat, and I'll review that aspect of the shop if I ever happen to eat there; however, the main attraction is the books.

This would be a lovely place to take a group of older Elementary Students to expose them to the magic of the printed word, and show them how and why analog is still relevant in this age of digital. Humanity would never have been able to advance without written language, granting us the ability to pass huge volumes of information from one generation to the next.

The printing press, and the drive for universal literacy, was a leap forward in advancing equality and the rights of humankind. The internet has been a quantum leap in the same direction, but it sometimes feels as though we are one solar flare away from being hurled back into cuneiform tablets.

This is the type of shop I love to support, and with COVID-19 restrictions being lifted I hope everyone will do the same.
