Max's on Main

PLEASE GO IF YOU ARE IN TOWN!! It was Saturday night, 2/10/24. I was in town with a relative and Went to Main Street in Beacon alone. I just wanted to see what the town was like and all of a sudden. The whole town went black!! Lights appeared In front of me, the only thing that was lit up in the town. The music entertainment was fun and appropriate for the atmosphere. Very talented guys. I went there as a southern lady from Ga, kind of skeptical about going in alone, but I was greeted with a friendly smile from the girl bartender. I had a wonderful few minutes speaking with a gentleman in this establishment. After speaking with him a few minutes, it turned out he was the owner of Max's Place. Wow was he nice and welcoming. I would have never guessed he was the owner. This place I recommend sincerely because the service is amazing and the atmosphere is very friendly and fun. I'm happy the town went black and I found this cozy place to go in and sit to rest my feet, after being in the city all day walking. Having a cold beer at the bar was nice. No one messed with me. So, thank you to the young lady bartending, whom I don't know her name, and to the gentleman who made me feel comfortable at the bar (the owner) Sorry, I am not positive of his name and I won't assume that it is Max.

I couldn't fault this place, my first dining experience in the US has been an excellent one, tasty food and a big shout out to the staff including Kenzie and Rich who made me feel most welcome!

Such good food! The vibe of the bar was also very comfortable -- would definitely have a drink inside. Ordered the Santa Fe Max, my partner tried the steak sandwich (Phenomenal fries!!), and we shared the Beacon Rolls (basically like savory Chinese beef egg rolls). Definitely will visit again.

Hands down, absolutely the best steak sandwich I have ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection, the provolone was melted perfectly, and the Portuguese roll makes the sandwich what it is, AWESOME. She had the teriyaki wings, extra crispy and it was finger licking good. Our waitress was so friendly & always smiling. We will be driving back again in a few weekend just to have another dose of Max’s on Main. Can’t suggest it enough!!

Great spot to grab a beer (two local IPAs on tap, plus whatever else you’d want). It’s a classic joint, half-sports bar, half-classic rock vibe, so enough for everyone. Straightforward American menu done well. Nice story and history (read the back of the menu), established 1921, captures the character of the community’s old school vibe, no fuss service and friendly faces asking if things are good.

An amazing place. Looking for unique place near the vrbo and Max's in Beacon is fannnntastic. Prices are great and the food is amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Great local joint, busy on a Wed night with locals and families. Groovy atmosphere, sports and rock -n-roll. Burger was awesome!

Had to try the BLT Bloody Mary! Lots of horseradish, just how I like it! So good I had to have a second! Bacon truly makes anything/everything better!

Hubby was happy that they had bottles of Molson. He ordered the pulled pork sandwich with corn fritters and coleslaw and he raved about it all and had me try it, I would definitely go for that next time, should we find ourselves in the vicinity of Max's again (we had done the Bannerman Castle ferry and tour on Pollepel Island in the Hudson, highly recommend you take the time to check it out, very interesting characters and history.)

I got the "Let There Be Salmon" with rice and veggies, very flavorful and the salmon was cooked just right.

The food and services was excellent, we had a very nice experience. The owner came to our table and greeted us. The chef made a special gluten free meal for my sister. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Loved it. In an historic building, brick walls, tin ceiling, vintage bar - had a cool, hippie vibe. Food very good, pulled pork best I ever had. Fun place for casual dining.

Great food and great selection of drinks at Max's. Lots of stuff on Main in this revitalized town, and Max's is superb. Very personable owners who will be certain not to be strangers. Genuinely great people, and great times to be had here. Be certain to stop by. 5 stars hands down.

My and my wife's kind of food. Delicious! Very lively bar and adjoining dining area (which we chose) allows for all patron moods. Everything appointed well even to the interesting flatware. A truly great restaurant. Service downgraded because wait person was rushed and didn't ask to refill coffee. We live 25 minutes from Beacon; the long drive was worth the trip.

This was our first stop in Beacon after a four hour drive through the rain. It was the perfect spot. Food was delicious, every single song played was great, and staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great pub! If we lived here would definitely be our go-to spot

First time at Max’s. This open faced turkey sandwich was so good. Pics can’t even do it justice. The owner and staff are really friendly and the drinks are strong.

Great neighborhood restaurant and bar. Incredible food! They are family owned and operated...great people. Oh and it's a sports bar too. Trivia night, karaoke, live music. Cool place to meet up with friends. Definitely recommend. 🤘🏻🔥

Friendly staff, great food and beer, karaoke...I had French Onion soup and Cajun pasta with shrimps, both delicious.

This was the perfect place for our group lunch! The two guys that run everything were so personable and accommodating. They helped set tables up for a large group of 10, recommended the best things on the menu, and even gave us complimentary perogis because he heard we were from Chicago. The food was good, the service was super fast, and they made things super easy with separate checks even for a large group. It was also a great spot for drinks later that night.

Foods are very delicious and the owner and staff are extremely friendly. Excellent service

Really great beers like this Icelandic beer I tried. Great vibe in downtown Beacon. There are fun food items and special events going on all week that you can take part in, or not. People were friendly and wait staff was helpful. I enjoyed the option of sitting in the quieter dining area or the busier bar with high top tables. I’ll be back.

Great food, been here many times this time it was nice not to have the creepy owner gawking at us at a table. He gives me the Willie's he acts like we are there to steal his silverware. Weirdo stay in the kitchen!!!
