A+ service and with attentive servers!

Clean and family friendly atmosphere!

The food is delicious and flavorful, emphasis seen on plating as well!
Also, great drink specials going on regularly!

Perks of indoor as well as outdoor seating.. yayy summertime!

**Heaters in the colder months for a little cool weather coziness.

Also any issues with service are handled quickly, professionally, and efficiently.

I give this a 5-star rating, keep up the great work!! (Grand applause)

Good food quick service. We got the bacon wrapped jalapeños for an appetizer. They were not very good also very hot even for a jalapeno.

Best Mexican food we’ve had in Peoria in a long time! Chicken tacos, fajitas and quesadillas were outstanding and the incredible service we received from our waiter Jose will bring us back! Well done Jalapeños!

Come get your street tacos!

If you're looking for some authentic Latin food (& maybe a margarita), do yourself a favor and stop by Jalapenos.

The smaller portion sizes are perfect for lunch (or any time).

This is easily one of my Peoria local favorites!

Time to get jalapeno this blog post.

On a quest to seemingly try every restaurant in the Peoria area, it was only a matter of time before I stopped in at Jalapenos. Now, I’ve heard about this place many times from many different people. Everyone raved about how good it was and how it quenched your hunger for Mexican food. My friend Matt and I were just about to find out if it lived up to the hype or not.

But first, I needed to drive us there. Or at least attempt to drive us there. My mental map on where this was located ended up getting crossed with another place in another shopping center in Peoria. What happened is I ended up driving us to the wrong place. Seeing as I was fairly hungry, this made me rather annoyed at myself. Once I punched in the address and arrived at the proper spot, I was in a better mood.

The inside of Jalapenos is your standard Mexican restaurant. If you don’t know what that is, let me tell ya. Think of your typical restaurant, but with Mexican music playing… things on the menu that you will horribly butcher the name of… heavy use of green, white, and red after their national flag… cultural paintings and decor spread throughout. That’s pretty typical of the Mexican places I’ve been to and Jalapenos was no different. Some lean a bit heavier in to the cultural side of things, most places will make you feel like you stepped in to a restaurante in an actual city in Mexico.

The lunch rush must’ve just passed as it wasn’t terribly too crowded but also not empty. Matt and I quickly grabbed the menus from in front of us and started checking out what the options were. I knew I wanted a big burrito. Maybe even one smothered in queso. My eyes were drawn to the Steak and Cheese burrito, if my memory serves me right. Everything about it sounded great, so that is what I ordered.

Matt and I munched on some chips and salsa while we waited for our food to come out. As I’ve grown to learn about these Mexican restaurants, the food takes no time at all to cook and reach our table. Our waiter carried the food out with some mittens on due to how hot the plates were from the food. He slid my burrito in front of me and I was slightly repulsed at the sight of it. It looked like a burrito covered in brown juice and topped with shredded cheese. But, I don’t let looks deceive me.

There is just no way anyone can pick one of these burritos up and eat it with their hands. You are pretty much required to use a fork and knife to eat it. I actually prefer it that way because I would make a terrible mess and drop the contents of said burrito all over my plate.

Digging in, I knew that the looks were deceiving. This was just what a hangry me needed. Each bite was full of flavor without one ingredient overpowering the others. While the cheese topping was shredded and not the poured over that I prefer (that may have just been my fault for not reading the menu in my hungry haste), it was still delectable.

Jalapenos definitely did it’s part to not only fill me up but live up to the hype that so many people raved on about. It was really good and while not something I would go out of my way to get, I would gladly come here with friends/family for lunch or dinner.

If you haven’t tried their Quesabirria tacos offered on Tuesdays and Fridays, you are seriously missing out!! Incredibly flavorful, nicely packed with meat, and fairly priced. We make the trip solely for tacos (and rice!! Seriously some of the best rice out there) but we did bring carryout for a family member and they swear their regular menu items are just as good! They have great service and the food is always brought out quickly. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re in the mood for delicious Mexican food!

Fire margaritas. Mine is a 27 oz peach on the rocks. The dip featured is a bean and queso dip. The beans are seasoned well and not too spicy. I had ordered a burrito with rice and beans on their lunch menu for $7.50. Over all great food and not too pricey

Some of if not the best service I had in Peoria, I feel this is where I would love to eat at 1-2 times a month. It has a nice atmosphere and is never too busy or too empty. It has a nice menu where you can enjoy a full meal without wasting any food.
