Gilanellas

In a continuing effort to try some of the places on the way to or from my work, I decided to visit Gilanellas tonight. Pizza is pretty much my favorite food, and the pictures on Google looked really tasty. I was sure it would be great!

This confidence was not misplaced in the least. The interior of Gilanellas is clean and modern looking. There's a modestly sized bar right at the interior running into the space and a dining area with ample seating, including booths, tables, and high top tables. The carpet along most of the dining area is a tan/brown color, with walls painted blue, white, or gray. The ceiling provides a mix of lighting via recessed fixtures and string lights. The whole of these features comes together to make an interior that appears clean, warm, and comfortable. I like it.

I opted to eat alone at the bar, as no one else was in the restaurant in the mid-afternoon when I visited. I ended up getting an order of the garlic bread and a thin crust pizza for myself. The garlic bread was everything I wanted in garlic bread - a little crispy with some garlic flavor yet still plenty fluffy. The pizza was also pretty great. For thin crust it wasn't super crispy, but the foldability meant it was an enjoyable experience for me. I'd want to come back in the future with a group and get a larger pie, just to be able to have bigger slices to fold. The flavors and texture were otherwise on point too - correct amount of cheese, clean flavors. Solid pizza overall.

For what I wanted out of my afternoon, Gilanellas was perfect. I got to kick back a little after work, watch Jeopardy! and the afternoon news on their one TV, and have a solid pizza meal. I could easily see stopping here after work in the future, as well. Thanks, Gilanellas!

Went here for the first time! Amazing place! Friendly staff! Great pizza! Jenna was awesome! Some of the local roudy people were questionable, but Jenna saved the day. Definitely one of the best places I been out here 😊 Thank you Jenna. Your an amazing person:)

Had a few pizzas and the pretzel sticks, all awesome. The staff is cool and fun to chat with. Joey's special is the best pizza so far

Menu changed after 2022

We were on our way to Savanna when one of the bikes in our group had problems and we coasted in to the edge of their lot. A couple of the fellas working came over and offered to bring us out waters and welcomed us in. Super nice folks so when we managed to get the bike up and running we went in for a beer and a shot. Was a nice, clean place with friendly staff. You bet we recommend them and would gladly stop again. Maybe next time we'll have time for a pizza too

Our bartender Jena was awesome! She made us a drink we used to get at Famous Daves.....and it was awesome! We had pizza which had homemade sauce and crust.....amazing! We also tried the the chicken wings.. ..not greasy deep-fried, but BAKED! Apparently they finish their wings in the brick fire oven to make them CRISPY! As good or BETTER than conventional wings, only HEALTHIER! We are definitely coming back!!! A+!!!

The pizza is excellent! You can get personal sized pizzas and the ingredients taste very fresh. We will definitely be back.

Hot Italian sandwich is delicious. Pizzas great , crispy crust, sweet Italian sauce. Curbside takeout is quick after ordering.

Had the firestone pizza there and it was pretty solid! Customer service was very pleasant and nice.

Didn't eat. Just stopped at bar. Staff was nice, place was clean. Food looked good around us.

What can I say that hasn't already been said: everything here was GREAT from the drinks Jenna made us to the Firestone Margharita pizza that was pure 🔥 🔥 🔥 10/10 would definitely come back again.
