I made an appointment online, showed up on time, had all my papers and was in and out in 15 minutes. Everyone was very polite and a great experience!

Fantastic service! At the time of my appointment, this office was also honoring appointments from a neighboring branch that had lost power. Despite the double load of customers, my appointment started only 5 minutes late and overall was the quickest/most efficient visit I’ve ever had at SOS! Bravo!!!

The SOS staff are experts, kind, and helpful, especially Amir. The process to get a new drivers license was quick and efficient. I appreciate them.

Seriously! Each staff member was working diligently and serving with a smile. (At 3pm on a Friday!) There was a pretty young blond woman (in pink blouse) that greeted each person and helped to make sure they had their necessary documents and the right SOS paperwork. She saved people time - including my daughter (our new driver!) With the help of the kind speedy African American woman that assisted my daughter, we were in and out in 30 minutes. Great job!!!

I renewed my license plate tags today with the fast track kiosk inside the main door and it only took me like 2 minutes. Awesome experience, so glad that the doors were open for the kiosk instead of having to wait for the actual Branch office to open at 9am. Thank you Secretary of State for making this a fast and painless experience! Have a great day all!

I made an appointment to get a replacement drivers license. I showed up 10 minutes early for my appointment. I was told to get in line at the exact time of my appointment. I was helped within 5 minutes of entering the line. In total, I maybe spent about 20 minutes here. This is my new go-to Secretary of State office!

While waiting our number to be call we overhead Linnaya's (sorry sorry misspelling) incredible customer service interactions. She consistently showed grace and knowledge while interacting with a diverse group of people!

Prompt service in getting Driving Licence after appointment online service appointment..

Out of all the Secretary of States or DOT offices I've been to...this one is by far the best. Even without an appointment (this location is appointment only) can be seen within 20 minutes, and it all just runs so smoothly.

The people who work here all seem helpful, caring and calm. Was recently helped by Amir, who was so kind, relaxed and polite.

Feb 2023 (edit): They were turning away people that didn't have an appointment. I was there on a Thursday at 930am.
If you can go to the one in Maple Village on the west side of Ann Arbor, you should. That one is never as busy as the Ypsi branch. I did to see Mrs Christine (window #1) and she was just as awesome as last time.
August 2022 (original review): I know that the SOS has a bad rap, but I've never had a bad experience with this branch. (I've had bad experiences with most of the others.) I was helped by Mrs Christina today. She went above and beyond to solve my problem. I hope she's working the next time I'm there.
I had made an appointment online - the first one at this branch was the next day. A different one had same-day times. I recommend making an appointment - the people that were walk-ins were waiting for a long time just to be able to get in line.

Every woman and man in this place was wonderful and extremely helpful and I promised them I will leave a great review because they deserve it, all of them ,it was a great experience very professional and I'm proud of all of them.

The appointment process, originally established for COVID reasons I think, is fantastic. It should be the new forever norm. I was able to easily reschedule my appointment several times due to waiting for a document I needed. At my actual appointment, I was served immediately by an unstressed, very friendly, helpful employee. Everything was super smooth.

Appointments can make things much easier. Trying to SCORE a GOOD appointment is the most difficult. Next day needed? Log on to the website at 8am or 12 Noon. Bought a car July 14, on July 16 I had my title transferred and plates ordered. Long lines eliminated, which cuts down on stress for families with little ones. I know eliminating the walk in is a huge inconvenience for some people, but if you're planning on a day to get things done anyway....

Very polite person at the front desk helped me rebook an appointment while I was struggling to do it myself online. Thank you for your patience and time. Feels nice to be spoken to with a smile.

I never thought I would be leaving a positive review on a DMV location but I was so pleasantly surprised…… so quick and efficient and Amir was so helpful……. also the lights were perfectly dim so I didn’t get the headache-y malaise that I’ve always thought was an integral part of the DMV experience……..

Went here today to register a trailer and get copies of some titles. Everyone there was so helpful and polite. This will absolutely be my go to SOS office. Thanks again!

Switching to appointment-only has made trips to the S.O.S. so much better. The line moves quickly, the environment is quiet, clean, and non-cluttered, and the information about what documentation you need is easy to find BEFORE you get to your appointment. I hope they remain appointment only in the future.

Arrived at 10:05 a.m. on a Thursday and was out at 10:15. There was a sort of triage line which went quickly. A staffer found out what each person needed, provided the necessary paperwork, and either gave the person a number or, if they came with paperwork filled out, took care of them. Others were waiting in chairs, but I had my paperwork ready and sailed through. The staff all seemed calm and helpful. Go early, print out what you need online before you go, and its a good experience.

I didn't go to S of S washtenaw Ave, Ypsilanti, MI for a while cause it's used to be very crowded but I went today November 2nd 2021 to get my 16 years old daughter permitt. I took appointment online and they amazed me how they were organized and the line went so fast cause employees worked so fast and in very friendly manner the young lady who helped us was so sweet, knowledgeable, hard worker, and so friendly and kind I think her name was Tiarus or Terrous. She was amazing. Our appointment was at 10:50am and we are done by 11:07am. They also followed the cdc covid guide there was a nice lady standing direct you to the line
