To start we were accommodated to a cottage towards the back of the road. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful! We went in May first weekend. Things are just opening up around there. Not crowded at all! So the cottages are all different, quaint, uniquely ordained and decorated and very lovely! Updated and modern bathrooms. Standing walk-in showers. They have travel toiletries just in case you didn’t bring any, all towels including floor mat, body, hand and face towels. They have a/c units with heater incase it gets cool at nights. They have delicate decorative window curtains, headboard matches decor beds are comfortable and pillows are firm and cozy. The grounds of cottages holds about 13 cottages but they also have suites in the main house of the owners. They are simple and very caring couple who have thought of all the details. Accommodating to pets and they have a pet of their own, she’s friendly! Also, they have bird watching areas, where recently a group of 8 pairs of cardinals moved in and are a beautiful sight to see! They do have a pool and deck, however closed at this time of review due to cool weather in the 40s-50s. I’m sure the summer months will be met with so much laughter and fun for the kiddos and families. The continental breakfast is plentiful and they are correct about the coffee…bought local from New Hampshire, very delish! Please visit, they are a wonderful host and the grounds are beautiful!

No cooking, no barbecuing. Just for lodging and spending time together.

They do have a small tv to catch up on times. And yes they have free parking and Wi-Fi!! ❤
They have porches with rocking chairs to match at your own cottage and the grounds. Well worth a niche place to get away for peace and quiet and some nostalgia!

And don’t forget the homes of “garden nomes” live there!!

This little gem is amazing! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, the rooms so clean. Best of all tho, hands down is the staff. So friendly and accommodating; I felt at home!
I will be staying here again for sure!

We cannot speak highly enough about our stay this past week. Nora and Phyllis are the perfect hosts and the pride they have for their property shows. Rooms are clean from top to bottom and the clean laundry smell of the towels and linens is refreshing with every arrival (thanks Kate). Sitting on the the porch in our rocking chairs admiring the beautiful grounds of flowers, birds and fun fairy gardens throughout was relaxing and peaceful. The pool was refreshing and hit the spot on the hot, sunny day. Waking up to a fresh, hot cup of delicious coffee and muffins that made our tastebuds dance. River was a complete lady and always there to get your furry fix. Top notch service at a top notch environment. Our only complaint was not getting the chance to sit and talk with Nora and Phyllis more as we began to feel more like family than guests. While you stay, don't forget to check out Phyllis's rock art, she is super talented and we even put in a request for a signature ladybug piece for our next visit. As you can tell, we highly recommend staying here. Nora, Phyllis, Kate, and River thank you for making our 10 year anniversary one to remember!

We booked a two night stay a 2 River Road Inn & Cottages. When we arrived we were so pleased about the atmosphere and cute cottages for our stay. We were immediately greeted by the establishment's pet and in awe of how friendly and well behaved she was, as she took her post waiting to greet the next guests.
We were then greeted by the inn's manager Nora. She was friendly and informative about where we could find everything. She also engaged in conversation with us and made us feel right at home. As we drove to our cottage one could not help noticing all the little vingnettes around the property.....all very cute, cozy and welcoming. Our cottage was adorable with a full functioning kitchen, king size bed, and a great front porch with rocking chairs overlooking the pool area. Unfortunately our stay was cut a little short due to a medical issue. Nora was extrememly gracious and understanding to our needs. She made sure we were okay and ready to leave for home. This inn is a hidden gem that I would recommend to anyone. And when Nora says they have good coffee, she is not kidding!

Stayed here for 2 nights around my niece's wedding. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly. River was super well behaved!
The cottage was very neat and well maintained; stocked perfectly.
The morning coffee is excellent! And the gazebo was wonderfully calming.
I would absolutely put this place top of my list!

Really sweet and quaint cottages! Grounds are beautifully kept! Continental breakfast small but really nice. Ate our breakfast outside at the large gazebo! Will definitely come again!

What a quaint New England lodging experience. Very clean and freshly painted with the perfect colors. Cute pieces of decor outside the property make it whimsical too. The live bird nest with babies was a nice surprise.
The large woodpecker, chipmunks, hummingbirds and more were a delight to watch.
Love the clean pool for dipping.
Very nice and clean light breakfast was a great way to start our day. Good coffee.
We enjoyed our now second stay at this lovely property with super nice people running it.
Hope to return sometime.

Absolutely fabulous little inn! Stayed in one of the suites in the main house, which was upstairs. Spacious room, chock full of amenities, and beautiful architecture in the old building (those exposed beams!).

The whole place is darling, with a number of small cottages, expertly manicured grounds, a pool, a gazebo, and chairs to hang out in.

The free breakfast is a sweet touch and much appreciated. The innkeepers are the nicest and had some great chats with them about the history of the place and the land. You'd be remiss not to stay here!!

I'm very happy we chose to stay here. The property is pretty and well-kept. Our cottage was super clean and comfortable for 2. The shower is great. A gentle flow but enough capacity and pressure to wash long, thick hair.

If I have to complain, it was a cold weekend and I would have liked another blanket.

We loved our little cottage: everything was sparkling clean, and there was a coffeemaker, refrigerator, and even a little porch out front. Unfortunately, we couldn't get a WiFi signal in the cottage itself (I think one of the other cottages was blocking the signal from the inn), but were able to access it by sitting in the cozy gazebo. We were right on a side road and close to the main road, but it was very quiet. Breakfast was awesome, with yoghurt, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yummy muffins and delicious coffee. Being greeted by River, the owners' dog, was a delight.

This was a wonderful way to spend our first ever night in Maine! Nora and Phyllis (and their adorable rescue dog) are lovely hosts. My husband and I felt so at-home during our stay. Our cottage was cozy, clean, and well-decorated. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful, and the area is nice and peaceful at night. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We loved our brief stay at 2 River Road. The bungalows and grounds were immaculate
and tastefully decorated — the grounds remind me of the old Poconos style getaways from back in the day. The owners were so friendly and do a great job at welcoming their guests. And their little travel goodie bag filled with breakfast snacks was brilliant and generous! We will most definitely return; hopefully for a longer stay. My thanks to the owners for a relaxing and comfortable getaway.
P.S. Our French Bulldog particularly enjoyed hanging out on the porch with us.

We stayed there this Labor day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean, the muffins were great, coffee was good and the owners were delightful and you could tell they were proud of their little oasis that they share with all of us. We'll be back for sure!

This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the inn keepers, until the time we left, just wonderful. Super clean, up to date, prices are very fair. I think this is the place for us, no matter what the circumstances. They have the nicest accommodations. There are even dog friendly accommodations, for those who travel with their fur babies. Wouldn’t change a thing. Definitely recommend, and we will be returning.

Very clean and great stay. I went here with my fiance and our little dog and we enjoyed it very much. Cottage was clean and just the perfect fit. The location was perfect too. We were near everything we could have wanted to see. I contacted the owner directly and told them we cannot wait to come back!
