I recently rode The Millennium Trail and what a beautiful trail it is. I will let my photos speak to it's beauty. Great for biking and photography. Not much wildlife, but I did find a wild turkey or it found me. lol

I grew up not far from here and was back for a visit. This was FABULOUS! The walk is just beautiful. Lots of amazing prairie flowers blooming in wild abandon! I look forward to coming again in a different season to see what’s growing. The public bathrooms were kind of disgusting - could use some attention.

We returned in 2022 for another visit! Still love this place!

Wonderful trail. Peaceful energy from space. Lots to take in and enjoy. Restrooms. Wide trails and in good condition. Definitely a good forest preserve.

Nice wide gravel trails, even and totally flat which makes it a great place for bird watching. A few small ponds/marshes, mostly wide open plains. We did the main 3.5 mile loop around the middle and since there is no shade my huskies were roasting like it was the Sahara and it was only 50°. Large beautiful old trees in a very small portion make up about 10% of the trail for a brief reprieve from the sun. We went in Spring and it was very pretty, I would imagine it's really a sight to see when everything is in bloom. Small building with bathrooms and drinking fountains which will be great when theyvare turned on! Bring water with if you're walking the big trail.

If you enjoy birdwatching or taking their photos, this savanna is their perfect nesting habitat. I enjoy watching the swallows dive bombing on the water for bugs during a chilly and cloudy day. The big loop is about 3.5 miles so you will get quite a long walk out there.

Bike paths crushed gravel in really great condition. Good parking, flush toilets. My only complaint is that there is no tree cover and it could be pretty brutal on a hot, sunny day.

Pretty nature, very pleasant walk. Plenty of parking. We only did the loop portion (turing left from the parking lot) and it was about 1.5 miles.

Nice place to walk, jog ride your bike and see a little nature, and lots of cool plants. There is a nice wide traffic Bond path quite a long path I'm sure you can go more than a few miles if you wanted to? Cool place.

A fantastic place to visit if you’re in Grayslake! The regular loop is about 3.2 miles, with an extra mile loop on the east side. Very well maintained, dog friendly, and beautiful!

Lovely area, great running loop options, very flat. There's a 3.5 mile loop with an optional 1 mile addition. The trail was nice and wide, gravel surface, and the park was clean. Several benches around as well. Not a lot of varied terrain or scenery, but what there is is nice.

If you goes to the preserve early winter when the controlled burn of the prairie exposes the lakes, you will get a unique opportunity to peek into the life of those swans, cranes, heron, Canadian goose, ducks.

It's a great place to see all the Illinois prairie plants and animals. Birds galore. It's peaceful and has a nice wide crushed stone path. I'd suggest going in spring or fall for the best experience.

Great place to get in a quick run or walk. Main loop is 3.6 miles with options to extend with the small loop. Beautiful space to enjoy a little bit of nature.

One of my favorite forest preserves in Lake County. Great trails for running or biking. It is connected to third and fourth lake so you can literally keep going for hours. The trails and paths are wide and it's never crowded. Gorgeous sunsets. I know there is parking available but we usually bike there. Looks gorgeous in spring, summer and fall. Never tried riding in winter. My husband likes to bike here early in the morning and he says it gets misty and you see all the birds and wildlife just enjoying the morning. Such a peaceful and relaxing place.

Great paths , flat hiking trails. Lovely area with benches throughout. Big lake/ pond to watch wildlife, thankful Lake County has open space’s for their community to enjoy in all weather.

Very nice preserve with a multitude of activities. Great combination of prairie and savannah plants. Known as a very important birding site.

This preserve is beautiful all year. Right now in the late fall, you can see the structure of the majestic oak trees that punctuate this impressive savannah.

Love it. Small or big loop. Only issue there’s not a lot of shade in the summer if it’s too hot.
