Ascension St. Joseph Hospital

We took our son here for a dislocated shoulder on Friday night. I can't express how thankful we were. They took him right back as I finished checking him in. The admissions person took me back, they had already started taking care of him. They explained in detail as to what they were going to do to help him. Within 15 minutes of our arrival they had given him medication and had reduced the dislocation. His care was fantastic and everyone so helped and caring. Thank you to the ER staff that night.

This time is very very pleasant. Alot Better than the last few times I had gone to the ER. This nurse and doctor was very pleasant. I went on 02/22/24 early morning around 8:30 ish .

I was taken to the ER by ambulance. Upon arrival I was met by the doctor, nurse Jennifer, the EKG specialist, and a couple of other people. I was immediately being worked on. After blood work, Ct scan, chest X-ray and lots of iv fluid it was decided I was going to spend the night. Every person I came into contact with in the ER was very professional and compassionate. I was moved to the floor where my nurse was Rosemarie and my aid was Dawn. Both took great care of me. The meals I had were very good and nutritious. I would recommend Ascension St. Joseph Hospital.
I have also had multiple encounters with this ER while my mother was alive. There was always caring, compassionate, thoughtful and through staff.

Dawn, Lora, Melissa, Sally etc. - all my nurses during the delivery of my son were amazing. I truly feel you made my experience the best it possibly could have been. Very knowledgeable and supportive, loving and kind people. Thank you all so much for all your help. Words cannot express how appreciative I am of you!

I had to bring my fiancé in last night for severe breathing issues, chronic cough and he appeared to have had a seizure approx 20 min prior. To say we were frightened was an understatement. When we got there, they were pretty busy. I have to say that despite how overworked they must have been, every single staff we came in contact with was outstanding! They got us back quick and we’re right on top of his health immediately. We had nurse Jen and Dr May and both were very compassionate and the way they handled my fiancés care was exemplary! Even the gentleman that did his cat scan came to introduce himself an hour before he was to get it done and he was so kind. I’m very impressed and appreciative. I can’t even thank them enough! It was great to finally get some answers and help to an ongoing issue not being properly previously addressed elsewhere. Thank you so much for the great care!

We are from out of town and needed to be seen urgently. The emergency room staff did a wondeful job! From the front desk staff to the medical providers, we are grateful for eveyone's care.

I was very happy with my care by the staff at st Joe. Went 2 days after my release to my cardiologist. She was very happy and complimentary about what you had done for me.

Don’t listen to the reviews. Great hospital. Remember SMALL TOWN. We went in at 215 AM because my wife went into labor. They hurried us in and did a quick ultra sound. Found the baby needed to come now by emergency c-section. Within an hour the whole team was there and she was delivered at 405 am. The next 36 hours in the hospital was great. The nurses in the ward were incredible, the food was damn good and overall hospitality was great. We had our doubts also but this experience put that to rest.

I was scared to bring my son here due to the awful reviews. We were in yesterday (Memorial Day) I was expecting it to be a hot mess. We were in and out in just about an hour. That included registration, our very short 10 minutes in the waiting room, vitals, nurse and doctor visit, getting a prescription & discharge papers. The girl who registered us was very upbeat and kind, usually you will find someone who acts like they hate their life. The nurse was also very kind and really helped me feel better about our situation. While I only saw the doctor for a very short 2 minutes, he listened to what I had to say and quickly gave us a solution. Everything was very clean. I hope we won’t need the emergency room again anytime soon but if we do we will definitely be back here vs going somewhere else.

I am so pleased with the care my wife received yesterday at the Emergency Room. Even though busy we were rushed into a room and given excellent care. The ER doctor and nurses were wonderful and even the young woman who politely knocked on the wall before announcing that she was there to clean was cheerful and wished us a speedy recovery.Thank you for being here for us in our times of need, This is not the first time we were helped.

We were visiting from down state and needed to come here for an injury that required stitches. There aren't any urgent care type clinics up here and when we arrived at the hospital the waiting room was packed with walk-ins and more patients were arriving by ambulance. Based on our ER experiences in metro Detroit hospitals we thought we would probably be waiting for service all night--Happily this was not the case and we were impressed with how quickly patients were treated and our short wait time. We were even more impressed with the cleanliness of the procedure room and the professional, friendly care we received. 3 cheers and many Thanks to Dr. Bob and the Nurses and Staff at St. Joseph's!

OB staff is amazing!! I had the best experience with them, incredible doctors and nurses on their team helped me bring my beautiful baby into the world!!

Came in with abdominal pain. Was nervous due to not being from Tawas and being 4 hours from home. Was in the ER under 3 hours with multiple tests done. Dr bob and nurse joe were very attentive and patient and talked me through everything. Very grateful for this place.

At out recent visit to the emergency room on Monday 3/20/17 I would have to give the staff an everyone a thumbs up. The hospital was non-stop. The care that was given was very excellent. The doctor was Anthony Deluca, Karen (rn) Debbie (doppler) an everyone else that makes the hospital run. Great job to everyone an thank-you so much. It seems at times we always never get the credit we deserve only the bad.I would like to thank you for the good job.

Everyone is very caring and nice. No matter how busy they are. They want to make u feel better!

Had to visit the ER and was seen quickly; subsequent surgery was smooth and they kept my loved ones updated the whole way. Had wonderful nurses and anesthesiologist.

I have covered the obstetric service here at Tawas Saint Joseph for one weekend a month for the past three months. These past months I have gained a newfound appreciation for the hospitals which service the small towns of upper Michigan. The northern and outlying hospitals provide convenient and immediate care to the local residents and nearby communities. In the winter months having a local hospital is important as the hospitals in Saginaw, where I normally work, are the last full service facilities as one heads north.
I have found the physicians, PA, NP, nursing, and other staff of Saint Joseph to be dedicated, caring, and skilled. They do this while working with limited facilities and services.
I was surprised and impressed with the availability of Nurse anesthesia services and labor epidural during my recent coverage.
When I needed to do a cesarean delivery in the late evening the obstetric nurses, OR techs and OR nursing, and CRNA ran this smoothly and efficiently. The nursing staff of the birth center routinely keep me informed and are a great asset to the St Joseph and the community.
The importance of this hospital to the community of Tawas, East Tawas and the nearby area is almost impossible to quantify. It is through the dedicated staff, the financial support of the community, and the dedication of Ascension health that this remains strong and viable.

Thanks to all who helped with a middle of the night emergency this past week. Thanks to the Emergency physicians, and staff, the lab, radiology, respiratory, anesthesia, house keeping, night shift supervisor, EMS, surgery team, and our fantastic OB nurses, and everyone else who pulled together for this emergency. I go to outpatient,Lab,and Seaton Center weekly they all treat me super friendly. Honestly the entire staff is very kind.

Excellent care. In and out of ER in record time. Doctors and nurses have compassion and really care.
